Taking a collaborative approach, I steer lessons towards whatever the student's musical goals are while moving at a pace that's comfortable. I create learning resources for my students, (tablature, leadsheets, visual examples of theory etc.) in addition to learning their preferred songs during my free time, so no part of the lesson is wasted. I love answering questions as to why certain things work musically and others don't, and seeing lightbulbs go off in the student's mind once they reach a personal breakthrough.
I am a professional composer, songwriter, guitarist, and freelance music teacher. I graduated from the City College of New York, Magna Cum Laude. Lessons are individually tailored to whatever learning style suits the student best, at whatever pace is most comfortable and realistic. I have a set of

I have had the great opportunity to teach all levels for over 15 years in the United Kingdom, South Africa and the USA. I have held positions as guitar teacher at many Colleges, Universities and Companies around the UK and USA. I have worked in the distant learning department at the Manhattan School of Music, teaching students around the country from their studio base. With many of my students going onto music schools such as The New School, NYC, Queens College, and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire I believe that I have a wide range of experience with all age ranges from beginners to beyond advanced. I focus on making the lessons as fun and engaging as possible whilst keeping on track to certain goals set by myself and the student throughout the year.

I have been teaching for 10 years in private lessons, music camps, and music clinics in Michigan and the metro DC area. I so enjoy teaching brass students how to gain better control of their musical expression through honing skills in technique, emoting, and general music knowledge. I can assist in preparing for play tests, auditions, solo performances and overall gaining a better grasp of any literature or method material. More than that I love coming together to enjoy playing music and growing as players. I am in awe hearing musical voices develop and become more articulate in expressing how they see the world through music.
A bit about myself, I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in music. I also attended Eastern Michigan University for three years before transferring to Penn State where I finished my degree. I teach trumpet, trombone, and tuba for beginner and intermediate levels and euphonium (B.C. & T.C.) (baritone T.C., baritone B.C.) for all

I've been developing talent and teaching voice for 10 years. I also specialize in Stage Performance. I'm a Vocal Producer/Songwriter turned Talent Developer. I've written songs for The Backstreet Boys, Trey Songz and more.
My best of both worlds background led me to develop "The 5 Phase Singing Method" that has been a huge hit with the hundreds of singers that I've trained. My belief is that voice lessons should be FUN yet EFFECTIVE.
Notable student: X Factor Finalist, Diamond White

His unique and innovative approach to vocal warm ups has helped me to find and define my vocal range.
He also happens to be an excellent vocal arranger, having helped me to add vocal accents to my songs that have given them new life.
Thank you for everything Michael!"
The best part, though, has been writing my own songs and breaking them down with Eric to add/remove things that work or don't work. Now starting to record some ideas and workshop them further -- something I never thought I'd be doing! Can't recommend Eric highly enough. He's flexible, highly experienced and teaches in a relaxed environment."

When you're learning how to play the piano, finger exercises are especially important--especially if you're having trouble controlling that pesky fourth finger! Learn the steps to take in this guest post by Ann Arbor, MI teacher Amy C... When I first began to learn piano, my fourth finger seemed bent on being anywhere but on the keys. Whenever I was not using it, the fourth finger--and by extension, the fifth finger--simply floated in midair, hovering above the ivories. This meant t …
