About Dovile
I began teaching while studying in Art Institute. My first students were 5 to 7 yr. old kids. It was very challenging, but also very rewarding. I was teaching them skills, they were teaching me patience. Later the age of my students grew, until I ended up teaching the same students I was in the same classes just 6 months ago. Again another challenge. I love challenges and even more I love helping others to overcome them.
My philosophy about teaching is that everybody can learn, it is only the way how we learn is different for different people. Another very important thing - I strive to be creative, respectful and approachable.

About Melissa
I have been teaching since 2006 on a variety of topics. I graduated with an BA from the University of Wisconsin. My degree is in History with and emphasis on East Asian history.
I've taught all age groups from age 2 up to retirees. My teaching experience includes one-on-one and group classes in a variety of settings. I've taught corporate classes, private lessons, small groups, and traditional classroom lessons.
We have a student-centric philosophy of learning. Lessons are generally relaxed and designed to work towards accomplishing student determined goals. While all students will study similar fundamentals regarding technique, theory, and performance, every lesson is as different as every person. Special focus on topics like music theory, self-accompaniment, composition, song writing, and home recording are available as well.
What are your personal goals? We'll tell you what you need to do to get there, and help you take the steps to achieve your aspirations.
Lessons with small children are more focused on just having fun while developing a good musical foundation, but we prefer for them to have as much personal ownership of their lesson as possible.

Hello! You want to learn to sew? I'm Timpla and I can help you!
FEEDBACK FROM MY PREVIOUS STUDENTS:
"It was great! I learned so much about my sewing machine."
"Had a great time Timpla! I was able to hem my daughter's skirt and repair a shirt sleeve. Looking forward to next time."
"I definitely benefited from the class! Thanks so much!!!"
I LOVE helping my students conquer their "fear" of the sewing machine, which unleashes excitement about their potential to sew unique items for themselves and others.
I've been sewing since I was a young girl, learning from my grandmother.
My experience includes sewing women's and girl's apparel, home decor, and quilts. I decided to start teaching private and group lessons after receiving many requests from friends and acquaintances.
I look forward to helping you develop the

About Renee D.
CloseAbout Renee
I grew up in Los Angeles surrounded by a family of artists and designers. Following my career in fashion and costume design, I began making one of a kind silver jewelry. I have been working with fine silver for 8 years, selling my design pieces in art galleries and online.
I have always tried to share my passion for all things artistic with my two children. By volunteering to run art projects at their school, I discovered the joy of teaching. I decided to combine that with my sewing expertise to help children and adults realize their creative vision. I like helping students explore their ideas while making a project come to life on the sewing machine.

I'm multi-media artist who offers various pottery, painting, fiber art (fiber processing, various types of felting, natural dyeing, yarn making, rug making, sewing, crocheting, knitting) jewelry, candles, and soap making and canning workshops in my art studio. We also have an onsite mini farm with llamas, alpacas, sheep and peacocks. We shear our animals annually and use our processed fiber in our workshops. Students learn the ancient traditions of naturally dyeing fiber with local plants and how to spin into art yarn with spindles.

I consider myself a unique choice because I'm a former New York City school teacher. A natural problem solver with a meticulous eye for detail, I have been honing my craft for many years. Bad habits will be sought out, and destroyed! Certified by the Billiards Congress of America, I am an advanced pool/billiards instructor. (That just means I can create new instructors, and get them certified with the BCA.)
I am also a baseball coach, and single father of a wonderful 12 year old boy. Last but never least, I am legal guardian of my brother Michael, a special needs autistic adult.
