While teaching classical piano, I always try to incorporate the material that students like the most: Holiday songs, Broadway melodies and favorite cartoon songs. All of this definitely adds to the enjoyment of learning how to play. Besides having two recitals a year, I encourage students to play in front of their peers at school, to always play for their families and to participate in various competitions and festivals around the St.Louis area.

Daniela was great at helping my daughter feel more comfortable during her first lesson. She was very knowledgeable and gave really good advice to take home and work on.

Daniela was very patient with my child. My daughter was a little nervous but Daniela made her comfortable and boosted her confidence.

Daniela is wonderful and our lessons are always fun. She lets me play pieces that I enjoy plus introduces me to new music that she believes I will also enjoy. She allows me to play freely but will correct my mistakes (wrong fingering :). But this only make me a better player and learning a new piece easier. As an adult learner I cannot say enough good things about her and her style. I really enjoy my lessons with her and I highly recommend her.

I am interested in teaching people in the ways they learn best, using the best methods available. I keep up with brain and learning research and attempt to incorporate into my teaching new understandings of learning and how the brain processes music. Because each student is unique, with her own learning style, motivation, goals, and desires, each lesson is uniquely tailored to that student, while still including standard elements necessary for establishing an excellent technique, while increasing students' knowledge of music theory, history, literature, performance, and practicing skills.

I teach violin using Suzuki, Rolland, Havas, traditional, piano using traditional, Faber, Bastien, Snell, and both using my own methodologies. My violin group classes are a unique blend of Suzuki and my own creative exercises, games & props.

In the past, Ms Brimberry taught both my daughers. When I decided to learn piano, I contacted her. My online classes with her has been an excellent educational experience. My preconceived ideas about learning piano were quickly dispelled as she constructed lessons to both my weaknesses and strengths. She corrected rhythmic errors by analyzing my learning style and then helped me to be precise in my technique and reading. She spent a great deal of time showing how to interpret what a composer intended. Ms. Brimberry was always prepared for my lessons, often bringing the world of music through biographies and history that made each lesson dynamic within the context of the composers era. Finally, she taught me how to practice; a skill that has saved me a great deal of time.

I am an experienced music teacher with 10+ years of professional career behind me.

With my piano lessons I can help people who are just starting out on piano. I focus on having a good technique, learning the basics of reading, some different scales and the correct fingering for it and getting used to different musical styles.

I try to make the fundamental exercises more fun rather than boring "exercises". I like to work on technique and theory in a song context not by itself. But after we go over these fundamentals you will be able to learn songs that you like in no time.

"I'm usually very skeptical about reviews, but thought I would give Andrew a try. I signed my son up for piano lessons with Andrew, and I want to say that every good review written about Andrew was true and correct. Andrew showed amazing patience with my son and made the lessons fun and exciting. His passion, creativity, and excitement for music shows every time you meet with him. His knowledge of the subject and teaching skills are evident in the results shown forth in the progress of his students. I can verify through this experience that he's the real deal and knows his stuff. I don't have to drag my son to lessons, because he's always excited about going to learn new things from Mr. Andrew. I catch my son playing the piano on his own at home and composing songs at the age of 5. I would recommend anyone to go to Andrew Young for lessons whether you're a child, an adult, or have special needs. I am confident you will also enjoy the experience and learning you will gain from this amazing and talented man. Way to go, Andrew, you have my vote! :)"

"Rena was very clear, organized, and receptive to my input. She was also great in using her curriculum to support my learning process. I played some instruments growing up and always wanted to try piano but didn't try until college. I initially had some unrealistic goals for myself, and Rena was able to help me set some more reasonable ones while also making sure I was enjoying what I was learning. I can't recommend Rena enough; she's amazing!"

"My daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons with Lydia for the past 5 years. Lydia is a very thorough teacher and will work with the student’s interests to keep the lesson fun but without losing the structure and highlighting proper technique and theory work. We love that Lydia is firm, disciplined and knowledgeable but kind and approachable. Lydia has continued to evolve my daughter’s course work with age to make it challenging. She is a wonderful piano teacher for any student."
