While teaching bass is my specialty, I've been teaching guitar for 4 years and have amassed quite the collection. The overwhelming majority of my students at the shops I teach at take lessons on guitar, so most of my time is actually spent teaching guitar. In lessons, we'll cover basic chords, scales, and rhythms, as well as some introductory music theory so the student knows why they're playing what they play.

About Tommy

My name is Tommy. I've been playing bass and guitar since I was 11 years old. When I was in high school, I won my school's Duke Ellington Jazz Performance Award my junior year. Around this time I began to work at my neighborhood's local lesson shop Let's Play Music! off of W Broad Street in Falls C

My methods vary from student to student. I focus primarily on ear training, applications of chord construction to learning solo's, songs, and chords, and reading guitar tablature when a student is lost. I believe guitar is an especially creative instrument and do NOT focus on reading sheet music as a part of the student's learning experience. An emphasis is also placed on performance as well as proper technique to avoid injuries. Listening to music is an extra-curricular activity that should be done every day with a special emphasis on hearing what the 'greats' do with a magnificent piece of wood in their hands.

About Greg

I have been playing guitar for over 14 years, played in four different gigging bands ranging from country to jazz to improvisational funk. I taught music theory, guitar, and bass at M.E.A. Music in Lexington Park, Maryland for 3 years and currently teach and manage at the School of Rock in Arnold.

Guitar is a fun and easy instrument to learn! If you are a beginner, you will begin by learning the basics of guitar and music in general, including musical notation. Soon, (with practice), you will have the skills to play your favorite songs. I will teach you at a pace that fits your individual needs. I will help you stay focused, without making you feel pressed. (My students often tell me how patient I am.)

I have been teaching music lessons since 1983, and full-time since 1996, and through the years I have taught over 600 students. I teach children and adults, beginner to advanced levels. I teach most styles including acoustic and electric, folk, rock, country, blues, jazz, classical and more. I love teaching beginners, either children or adults, as much as I enjoy teaching advanced students who are looking to expand their skill set.

I received my musical education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma, and by gigging throughout New England for over 40 years playing concerts,

"Albert's lessons have really stuck with me--I give him credit for helping me achieve really all of my musical goals. I've played out, been in a rock band, and started writing music, and a ton of that goes back to things I picked up from Albert.

He really tailors the lessons to what you are trying to accomplish. I would recommend Albert to anyone learning guitar."
