Ryan is so great with my 6 yr old son. He is very patient with him, and even though we are having our son learn piano for now, his ultimate goal is to learn the guitar. With Ryan knowing this about our son, he also allows him to strum the guitar every so often so that it reminds him how his piano lessons will ultimately pay off in the end. Ryan is super great with kids! I highly recommend him to anyone.

Thomas S.

Richardson, TX

About Thomas

Hello, I'™m Thomas, but most people call me T. I started taking private drum lessons when I was 6 years old from Lucy Flohr. Ms. Lucy was one of the most influential and important people in my development not only as a drummer but in life as well (she's the lady in my profile picture). I met her at 6, and we'™re still friends 30 years later. After Lucy I started lessons with professors at UNT (which in those days was NTSU). My glam band, Skin Deep, was getting major record deal offers, but it was 1992 when grunge took over. So under guidance of our attorney we didn'™t sign any offers. With my high hopes deflated and a musically defeated heart I had to make a change. So instead of going to UNT to study music which I had been being groomed to do, I chose to go to Austin and attend ...

I have been taking lessons with Thomas for a year and a half. He is very patient and explains things very well. I had no drum experience before I met him. I can read music and play better than I ever though I could for the limited amount of time I have been paying. I highly recommend Thomas for adults and kids. I have a busy work schedule and he has been gracious and flexible with my schedule.

Fantastic Teacher for Kids

My 8 year old son has been taking drum lessons from Thomas for about 4 months and he very much enjoys it. What I really like about the lessons is that Thomas custom designs the next lesson based on how the student is performing in the current lesson. His homework assignments are very detailed which is great because I, as well as my son, know what he should be practicing during the week. I can definitely see a big improvement since my son started and I have no doubts he is getting a solid foundation in drums as well as music theory. Thomas is a super nice guy and very patient which makes him fantastic for kids. My wife is a music educator and she is just as impressed with Thomas as I am. We highly recommend him.

Awesome teacher

I have been taking lessons from Thomas for about 4 months. I knew nothing about drums when I started. I have learned so much so fast. T's teaching style is flexible and he is able to adjust the way he explains things so I understand. I have so many light bulb moments in the lesson and when I am practicing at home. He is professional and a lot of fun. My drum lesson is one of the highlights of my week. T is not only teaching me how to play the drums, but how to not be so hard on myself. We laugh a lot and I always leave feeling great about my lesson and that I have accomplished something. I am an adult student and would recommend him for any adult or kid. I can see how young people would relate to him as well. He is laid back, but very professional and knows his stuff. I have recently moved 30 minutes away from him, but will continue to make the drive because he is awesome and worth the drive.

Gaily has helped me so much

Gaily is an amazing violinist. She is very flexible and tells me what I need to know in order to improve. When I get a little bored with my practice drills, we work on fun music that I love to play.

I have noticed a huge difference in my playing since taking lessons from her. I play more in tune and with more confidence. You should definitely take lessons from Gaily.
