Hi there! 
My three passions are teaching Spanish (13+ years), Yoga, and ESL!
I have an Undergraduate and Master's degree in Spanish as well as an Endorsement in ESL. I have my 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification through Midtown Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Alliance.

I am flexible and fun-loving. I make lessons interactive and engaging.   I take pride in helping students succeed and find passion in their subjects.

I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years! Many years ago, my doctors recommended that I try yoga to help with stress in my life. After many years of running marathons and half marathons, yoga also provided me a great physical workout but was more gentle on my body. I am a full time teacher, part-time yoga instructor, and dog mom. I found yoga during a time of extreme stress and anxiety in my life and fell deeper in love with yoga after dealing with some chronic pain issues and multiple injuries. I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years and decided to become a certified yoga instructor to share my passion with others. I currently teach at Midtown Palatine as well as through my own business called NamAshte Yoga. Yoga has provided me with a great physical workout while also being gentle on my body.
In our yoga classes, we will gently ease into poses by moving, stretching, and unwinding. You will leave class feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I truly believe that yoga is for everybody and every BODY, so no experience is necessary. 

As a high school Spanish teacher and ESL teacher, I am passionate about bringing creativity into each and every class. Just as my Spanish classes are never the same for my students, each yoga class is fun and unique!

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, having completed a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). I have a carefree and easy-going demeanor and my ability to articulate when cueing poses helps make yoga accessible to all students ranging from beginner to advanced. I love technology and enjoy teaching virtually as well as in person! I created a private studio to share my passion with others. As a high school Spanish teacher, I love being creative and making each class fun and unique, traits I bring to my yoga teaching. During the pandemic, I founded the Yoga Club for the high school students, offered weekly Zoom yoga classes to her fellow staff members, and now continue to teach yoga to both students and adults. Each week, I teach online classes to people in the community, in-person classes at Midtown Athletic Club, and do mindfulness workshops for students and teachers. I train weekly with a mentor teacher as well as take yoga classes from other teachers to gain new ideas and strengthen my own practice.

Ashley’s great!! My two teenagers really connect with her and have gained fluency faster than expected!

Ashley caters each class to me. She always asks what I would like to focus on, and then she comes up with nice sequences and stretches based on my energy level. Her smile is genuine and her cueing is so clear that I don't need to wear my glasses or look at her on screen all the time.

My daughter really enjoyed the Yoga session with Ashley. She communicates so well and makes you feel very comfortable and enjoyable at class.

I always look forward to yoga classes with Ashley! She caters each class to fit the needs of her students, and always asks for suggestions at the beginning of each class. I personally love restorative yoga and she is always adding in poses to fit my preferences. She clearly cues each move and demonstrates when poses might be tricky. She also watches to make sure students are in the proper alignment, etc. 10/10 recommend taking one of her classes if you ever get the chance!

We move a little more than in past weeks, working on our breath to movement as well as a little balance. Lots of modificaitons and options are offered, and of course, you can enjoy a nice cool down with a savasana. If you're interested in joining any of the classes live, just send me a message!

Flow, Balance, and Feel Good Yoga

We will warm up, flow, and stetch out the hips, hammies, and hip flexors. This class was designed for a special event, so I had many participants of all different ages and abilities. You will hopefully leave refreshed and renewed!

Hips and Hammies Slow Flow, Miles for Smiles Event

My students requested something for hips, low back, legs, and hip flexors, so I made sure to focus on those areas. This full body slow flow truly focuses on those areas while bringing you total body relaxation! If you have a foam roller or rolled up towels/blankets, I will show you an extra yummy stretch for the hip flexors at the end of the practice, so have one nearby!

Slow Flow for Legs, Low Back, Legs, & Hip Flexors

This slow flow class was created for my two runner friends who love working out but also needed some moves to help them strengthen and stretch their muscles. It is a fun flow than can be done anytime and by all levels. This class is perfect for after work when you're tired or when you just want 40 minutes of movement but aren't sure what to do. Enjoy!

Slow Flow for Healing and Stretching

This slow flow class will get you moving and stretching and is perfect for any time of the day and for any level of yogi. I explain how to get into the poses, proper alignment, and even modifications! You will finish this class feeling rejuvenated and refreshed and ready to conquer all of your goals! Enjoy a nice little savasana at the end!

Slow Flow Vinyasa, nice and gentle

This slow flow will have you feeling good. It is perfect for beginners new to yoga or the seasoned athlete with tight muscles. I created this slow flow for a charity event to give back to the local community, so there were a lot of abilities in this class. You might be so relaxed at the end that you are ready for bed!

Feel Good Slow Flow, All Levels

We begin nice and gentle and move into some nice stretches for the legs and shoulders. We will take the flow slowly, eventually making our way onto our backs for a loving kindness meditation. There are modifications and options offered throughout.

This video will hopefully get your heart pumping! It's full of fun transitions, unique flows, and just enough challenge to take you to the next level in your practice.

Level II Vinyasa Yoga, Fun Transitions!

My students requested extra neck and back stretches, so I delivered. We begin with lots of gentle stretches to release tension, stretch our legs and back, and then relax the rest of our body into savasana.

Slow Flow-Neck and Leg Focus

This video will begin with some great stretches for the calves and feet, eventually warming up the entire body. We will move and flow and stretch and relax. This class is great for anyone who wants to stretch tight or sore muscles through movement or who is looking for a little more flow.

45 min Stretch and Flow

We start seated to center ourselves and take a couple of calming breaths. Then, we come down onto our backs to stretch, twist, and loosen any tights muscles. This gentle class can be done as an add-on class, a bedtime stretch, or any time you're feeling tight! 
*For any woman doing IVF or pregnant, please modify the deep twists (by opening to the side rather than across your body) which are not safe for pregnancy.

Relaxation and Destress Stretch

This quick class will start nice and relaxing, warm you up, get your heart pumping a bit, and then wind down. It's everything you're looking for when you don't have time for a workout and a yoga class. It's the whole package!
