My goal is to share my knowledge as a classically trained actor and film director. I will create lesson plans catered to each individual that captures the complex and wonderful world of theatrical and on-camera performance. Students will be exposed to various acting methods created by Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky, Michael Chekhov, and others. Students will participate in multiple exercises and performances that will build and strengthen their bodies, voice, mind, and heart.

About Shirley

In 2008, I graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in Psychology and went on to receive my Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California in 2012. As a graduate student at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts, I participated in the 3-year repertory acting program. While in gradua

Mark has been very flexible in scheduling and very patient in explaining theory. As an adult new to violin I think he has been great in terms of explaining new concepts and being incredibly encouraging. He is also patient and realistic in his expectations of students. Greatly recommend.

I came to Mark with utterly no background in the violin, wanting to start as an adult learner, and I can't imagine a better teacher than Mark. Mark is helping me gain crucial fundamentals while also learning fun pieces to strengthen those elements and encouraging me to select pieces, too.
I also like that he incorporates some music theory into his lessons.
Finally, I feel like becoming a violinist now, as an adult, isn't as crazy as I worried it might be since I have Mark to teach me.

Will was excellent! My 13-year old thoroughly enjoyed his lesson. Will was prepared and spoke in a way that was easy for my son to understand. He uses many different techniques and a multi-faceted approach to teaching so that he can develop a well-rounded musician. My son can't wait to have his next lesson with Will!

Will is AWESOME. So patient, encouraging, and keeps me engaged. I so look forward to our sessions.

Before starting lessons with Will I had never picked up an instrument before. I was so nervous to get started and had little confidence that I'd be able to learn. Will completely shattered that illusion and reminded me how good it feels to try something new!

"We only just started with Marvin, but he is professional and patient with my son. My first impression of Marvin is very good and he is very soft spoken and friendly! In just two lessons, I have already seen progress and we are now looking forward to working weekly with him. My son choose Marvin as his teacher, after reading about him on the web-site and it was his choice to continue lessons. He is very excited about learning more and playing guitar with Marvin! In fact, we are adding an extra supplemental session between lessons. THANK YOU MARVIN!!"

Corinne knows how to keep my daughter focused and even provides recordings for her to practice at home and for me to listen to as well since I can't be there. "Stephanie is an excellent teacher and a wonderful person you can connect with. Whether you're a beginner or already vocally trained, she will be a great teacher for you. She will make you feel comfortable when you're feeling self conscious about your voice, which we all do. I am also a Berklee College of Music graduate who took a couple semesters of beginner vocal lessons, but feel like I've understood singing more with her. She's grown up in a musical family, with a mother who works in speech therapy, so she is excellent at understanding and teaching singing from a physical perspective, which is very important. Teachers I've worked with before would assume more that you would connect with these things naturally. She is very talented, professional, funny, and kind. Fantastic vocal teacher!"
