As of June 2019, we switched from an in-studio lesson to an online one. It was amazing how both my, at that time 9-year old, son and Enoch adjusted to one another, how Enoch was able to find the weaknesses and strengths, along with my son's fields of interest. How he was able to communicate with him about fun stuff but redirect him back to his lesson smoothly. We continue to take lessons with Enoch even though we have moved to the Netherlands and Enoch is still in the USA. He is a keeper. :)

Our first lesson with Michael went well. My 7yo son was a little nervous about taking lessons for the first time, but Michael had him playing some notes on the piano and talking soon after we started the lesson. He's looking forward to more lessons with him.

My daughters (8,4) take piano, violin, and voice with Mike, and have for 6+months. Mike is super patient, while teaching not only theory, but also ensuring the girls understand musicality. His style really encourages confidence, and pride in what the girls are able to accomplish. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to take lessons

I've really enjoyed my lessons with Michael. He's a good and patient teacher

Hello! I began studying piano when I was 4 through the Suzuki method and started teaching when I moved to San Francisco to start school. I am dedicated to the Suzuki method and believe in it; in case you're unfamiliar with the Suzuki method, it's a way of approaching music that focuses on fundamentals, developing the ear, and learning through emulation rather than solely on reading and theory. As someone who was taught by a more traditional teacher who was a strict adherent to the Suzuki method timeline, I have found myself to be much more flexible teacher who really wants to structure the lessons around the student to maximize an enjoyable relationship with the piano and music. For adults, of course, we start looking at reading pretty much from the beginning whereas for children, we steer clear of reading for a bit. I have a dog and two cats who are super friendly and who love to sit and listen to the piano lessons (I have had a few students who are scared) - just FYI! Looking ...

As a music instructor, I am eager to cater to the needs of each individual child and to provide them with engaging musical experiences in supportive environments. I have previously provided violin, viola, and piano lessons to students of all ages both through Thompson Tutoring in Portage, Michigan and Reverb Lessons in Chicago, Illinois. I have approximately six years of private teaching experience.

I typically provide beginning piano lessons to young students, and frequently utilize the Faber Piano Adventures method books. I learned piano at a young age myself before revisiting the instrument for two years during my undergraduate studies.

I recently graduated from Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts with a Master of Music Degree in Viola Performance. In 2016, I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Viola Performance and Spanish. My performance experience includes both local and international venues. I have performed

Laura is an amazing teacher - I could see it right away - and my daughter really opened up to her. It seems, however that my daughter may not be ready to study the piano just yet. We bought a 5-lesson package, so we will see if that changes between now and then. Either way, Laura was a great choice for our first piano instructor!

Playing the piano or keyboards is about more than boring piano lessons, it’s about skills you can use in real life.

1. Learning to Play Notes. It’s what piano lessons have always been about. And sure we’ll do it. But unless you are preparing to go to college and major in piano, it’s doubtful it’s all you need to know.

2. Learning to Play Charts. THIS is what you probably need to know most to be a successful and fulfilled piano or keyboard player. Maybe you want to play in a band, or at church, or just jam with friends. Knowing how to read music charts will give you the ability to play along with any kind of music in any situation. You’ll learn how to improvise both chords and rhythm.

3. What Do You Want to Play? Why just play what others want you play? Or play notes anyone could learn how to play? We’ll talk about what you want to play whether it’s your own music, or the latest Ed Sheehan tune.

4. Make Up Stuff. This especially for folks who want to write music. Or maybe ...

"Reasons to love Susan Taylor: She has all the markers of a great teacher; she instructs well, is very patient, kind and encouraging. When I say ‘encouraging,’ I really mean that. She can be one of your biggest cheerleaders, always pushing you towards your goals and praising your efforts and acknowledging when you have improved. Something else about Susan is that she is helpful at crafting her lessons around your goals. Just what do you want to achieve with your lessons? Think about it, share with her your thoughts and she’ll help you get there! I also appreciate her calm nature, her organized approach to things and that she keeps a nice, clean space for me to come and learn all this fun stuff I want to know! I am VERY, VERY, VERY happy to call her my teacher."

"Adam has taken me to new heights on my journey to becoming a musician. As someone who first approached music with much hesitation and a lack of confidence, Adam reminded me that I can achieve any of my musical goals at any age. He provides you with all the technique, theory training, and support you need to really internalize what you’re learning. He was also excellent with reminding of me of the spark that first drew me to music, when judgment and self-doubt seemed to get in the way. I can now approach something that once felt so intimidating with confidence and a sense of ease. I’ve learned that it’s all about falling in love with the process. Forever grateful for the way Adam has believed in me and the trust he has instilled in me as an artist. I highly recommend taking that leap of faith and stepping into the light of your dreams. It’s one of the most rewarding feelings to look back and see how far you’ve come."

"I took piano lessons with Ardalan for quite a while. He’s knowledgeable, patient and caring. He is experienced working with both adults and children and modifies his approach to meet each student’s needs. I had a bad experience learning music when I was a child and was reluctant to take lessons as an adult. Ardalan definitely helped me gain that confidence back and feel that I could actually enjoy the music while learning it. Besides his teaching skills, Ardalan is a wonderful artist and anyone who takes a class with him will look forward to each session and learn a lot from him."
