Lessons are always designed to be educational, engaging & fun, combining a balance of learning notation, playing by ear & performance with other live instruments! Experienced drummer with 13 years of experience, performing in multiple bands genres ranging from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Punk, Country, and more.

I began learning drums through Rock Band, yes.. I said a video game. After a month or two I was playing songs on hard or expert difficulty and I soon began applying the rhythms and rudiments I was learning in Rock Band to a real drum set. I began playing drums every day. I played in a few different bands in my teen years, recorded in studios and currently I accompany musicians around San Diego regularly.

My name is Dani Danor. I am a professional drummer and teacher. Drums and music have always been my biggest passion.

My number one goal in teaching is to get my students as excited as I am about this incredible instrument. And why shouldn't they? This is one of the few (if not the only) instruments that use all four limbs simultaneously. How crazy is that? Imagine how many rhythms, sounds and melodies can be created? Endless!

Drums are the heart of the music all around the world! Whether it's rock 'n roll, funk, jazz, hip-hop, salsa, samba, or electronic music, the drums are what make everything feel so good!

Learning to play the drums should be a fun adventure, and I believe the best way for my students to learn is to teach them through the music they like. With my curriculum, you will learn (depending on your current abilities):
- All "40 Essential Drum Rudiments" and learn how to turn them into crazy fills that
you can impress all your friends with
- Basic grooves that are applicable to almost any band you play with
- How to read drum charts and song forms
- Even write your own drum parts and compose music yourself!

About me: I've been playing the drums and taking lessons myself since I was 8-years-old (15 years!!). I started learning the basics - at my first recital, I played along with

Professional, versatile drummer with over 16 years of experience and as a professional player and a range of styles runs the gamut from playing stadiums to small clubs, from touring internationally to working in the studio, from playing speed punk with Rehasher to playing soul and funk music with The Savants of Soul.

Our lessons together will focus on four main areas: hand technique and fundamentals, techniques for building drum set vocabulary, application of technique through musical performance and mentorship in building your music career.

Whether you're just getting started and want to know the basics or you're an advanced player looking to gain some new insight or techniques, I want to help you have have fun in your own journey through music -- professional or otherwise.
