Really patient and encouraging! I'm a beginner when it comes to dance / choreo but she was still very supportive and positive. You'll have a lot of fun taking a lesson with her!

Ferlyn has excellent skills in teaching dance. My daughter has improved her dance techniques in 3 classes. We highly recommend her to everyone that needs dance instructor.

Given all of the positive reviews, I am refraining from giving Ferlyn only one star. I am sure she is relatively competent as a teacher. The unfortunate aspect for which she is receiving such a poor review is a significant lack of professionalism.
I arranged piano lessons with Ferlyn for my mother.
Her first lesson (for which I was present) was fine.
I then found out that at their second lesson, Ferlyn showed up very sick. This was quite concerning, especially given my mother’s age. Ferlyn definitely should have canceled that second lesson and not showed up so sick. 
Then, only two hours (!) before my mother’s scheduled third lesson, I receive a text message from Ferlyn stating the following:
“Hi Dominique, wanted to let you and your mom that piano lessons will be cancelled today because it is my Birthday! I will see her next week. :)”
This was incredible. This was a cancellation only two hours prior, not due to some emergency or even due to her illness which should have caused a cancelation the week before! This was because it was her birthday. Something that would have been understandable, were she to have let us know well in advance. I am sure she knew in advance when her birthday is.
This does not reflect on TakeLessons, as I have had great experiences with other teachers.
But this degree of inconsiderateness, first with regard to the illness and then with regard to the manner of cancellation, is appalling.

My History of Latin Ballroom:
I have been teaching ballroom for 25+ years.  I have experience in varied street and self-taught techniques in Waltz (Traditional & Viennese), Tango (American & Argentine), Cha Cha, Foxtrot, and Latin Ballroom (Salsa, Rumba, Samba, Bachata), just to name a few. My training is mostly through self-taught methods and passed down generational methods taught through mentors and cultural organizations. A few video credits can be looked at on my profile!

My Teaching Method:
I assess each students' levels, knowledge and styles of learning, determine the best learning paths to incorporate into the lesson and bring a "natural movement" approach of training and education.

With my method, this is to provide a collaborative & supportive environment as well as actively develop a person's life, culture and well-being. I strive to take a step further and deeper within the mind of the person who is learning dance and music to find one's "True Inner Dancer/Musician."

I bring a different light to each session of dance, piano and/or music and bring your abilities to a level that is more knowledgeable, adequately refined, near to perfection (and professional over time), and always enjoyable. I have tutored basic and intermediate Spanish to children, using Spanish songs and fun games for children. I have experience tutoring adults. I gave Spanish conversational classes, Spanish for Educators, Spanish for travelers and for people that works in the medical field. I have been giving conversational Spanish classes at park and recreation, I'm a certified interpreter translator. I used to work for global LT tutoring program and head start. You must have skype or Ovoo for the online  classes. I want to be a tutor so I can share my passions with people who want support

Jenny is a fantastic teacher! Within a few zoom lessons, she was able to teach us a choreographed dance for the first dance at our wedding. We never thought we would be able to learn what we did that quicky, let alone via Zoom, but Jenny made it simple and fun!  Our only regret is that we do not live in the same town as we would have loved to continue to take in-person classes with Jenny!  If she can help us learn basic dance steps over Zoom, I can only imagine how good she must be in person!

I teach Ballroom, Latin, Salsa Argentine Tango and ballet, as well as dance choreography. My lessons are fun and easy. I work with all ages and all dance levels.

I am a professional dancer. I have competed primarily in International Latin and American Rhythm styles, though I have extensive training in International Standard and American Smooth styles as well. I teach both social and competitive styles of dance, and gear my lessons toward the student's preference.

During my lessons, you will learn appropriate dance techniques for your dance level and style, timing, musicality, expression, and partnering. I can also create a dance choreography for a special event, or for a competition.

I am a professional dancer and Dance Sport competitor. I started dancing when I was 4 years old, and have no plans to stop. I love what I do.

I teach a variety of dance styles, including Ballroom and Latin, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Ballet, Contemporary, and others. I have extensive performance and competition experience as a professional, amateur and Pro-Am competitor. I understand the requirements of competitive dancing vs. social dancing, and I tailor my lessons to my students' needs.

My lessons are always fun and no-stress, because I believe that learning to dance should be a positive experience. Steven was incredible! We learned so much in just 30 minutes! We were both really skeptical of the online dance lesson, but Steven made it feel really natural while still being incredibly effective! Can’t wait for our upcoming lessons!

My fiance and I found Steven while trying to find swing dance lessons online instead of going the in-person route. Steven is excellent at remote instruction for dancing, despite the obvious limitations of the format.
