My lessons are designed for children and teens with some guidance on how they
can use chess knowledge as a path to some college scholarships.

Chess is now inreasingly featured in the school system not only to develop student discipline, critical thinking and brain power, but social skills (which will have positive impact on the child's future).

About Rolando "Butch"

I am a family man married to my wife for 38 years with four grown adult children. I also teach my grandchildren at a young age to play chess because of the scholarship potentials it may give them as they develop critical thinking and brain power.

First and foremost I'm very patient. When learning how to knit sometimes it can be very frustrating. I like to make learning how to knit fun. Also, I'll explain to you the importance of why we do certain things with knitting. And I'm very open do you want to learn how to make a scarf we can make a project and work on it. If you want to learn how to make a beanie I'm game. It's all about what you want and what your expectations are I'm very flexible.

About Jannae

Not only is knitting a very fulfilling Hobby. But knitting also teaches patience. It's a great way to become creative and express yourself.

Japanese Original Traditional Origami

Origami is fun, easy, inexpensive and great for sharing with others. I teach many different types of origami. :)

*Others Many More...;)

Origami (Ori meaning "to fold", and kami meaning "paper")
is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. In modern usage, the word "origami" is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin.

There is nothing quite like the joy you get from transforming a plain square piece of paper into a container, animal, flower, etc.

It still puts a smile on your faces when you complete an origami. :)

I'm totally new to Japanese and I was very nervous. I just completed my 4th lesson and I'm finding learning Japanese is fun! Toshi is very patient and he is helping me create a plan forward. I have been working hard and have kind of gotten Hiragana,Katakana, but I need a lot more practice. I am able to read and write some words and in our lesson today I spoke my first complete Japanese sentence. Thank you Toshi for your help and for making my Japanese journey fun!

My students and I have at least one in-person meeting per week with the goal of preparing them for rated competitions. During this meeting, I will go over tactical themes with the student, challenge him/her with puzzles, go over and discuss Grandmaster games and opening variations, or play training games.

I will also chat with the student and find out what she been doing, what she has been working on, and ask her what problems she has encountered during her training.
