I am an experienced scientist and educator with a demonstrated history of working in science education and curriculum development. 

I developed The Art In Science in 2010 to instill love of science in kids (ages 4-12) through an innovative curriculum that enriches kids in various scientific disciplines. In this unique program, the kids learn various science topics with hands on activities that turn into interesting artworks pleasing to the eye and intriguing to the mind.

Holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, followed by post-doctorate research at UC Berkeley and Stanford University, where she conducted Bioinformatics research.

In FOOD CHAIN - we will learn how organisms interact , discuss the relationship between producers, consumers and decomposes, and create our own food chain projects.
This class is designed for kids ages 5-9.
Fun activity in every lesson. No prerequisites.

Lesson 5 -The Owl
In this class we will learn about the animal at the top of the food chain - the Owl. We will learn about these smart birds and complete our food chain.

My grandson absolutely loved taking classes with Dr. Orna.  She is very patient and her lessons are so fun and wonderfully engaging.

If they dont have a class with the Doctor that day they feel lost for the day and they have full enriching days of fun but they love her classes!  

The Doctor makes these subjects super fun for all!

Dr. Orna is so patient and makes sure all of the children understand. Dr. Orna's classes are full of fundamentals and fun. The crafts are exciting for the children to make and they even make toys in some classes. We were very lucky to find Dr. Orna during the pandemic...I don't feel like my child missed out on any science learning and my learner has been exposed to many science topics from Astronomy to Zoology  5-stars  100% recommended.

Dr. Orna is a wonder teacher.  She makes physics interesting, exciting, and understandable for young learners.  We have taken several of her classes and are very impressed with her ability to teach complex subjects to our daughter.  We love how she uses hands on experiments and projects to teach these concepts and she does not shy away from using the proper scientific terms with our young ones.  She teaches in a respectful and engaging way.

Can't say enough about Dr. Orna's lessons.  She is amazing.  Her classes are hands-on and very thorough.  She is able to teach complex subjects in a way our future STEM leaders can understand and really put into practice.

In Animal Kingdom (6-lessons class), every lesson will focus on a different group of the animal kingdom. We will start with invertebrates and study insects, then continue to reptiles, amphibians, fish , birds and mammals. Interesting and fun projects in every lesson will ignite the students curiosity and desire to learn some more.
