Hi! My name is Sam! This is my SEVENTH year with TakeLessons and I couldn't be happier with the students that have come my way. If you're reading this, then you've taken the first step in finding a tutor that is right for you! 

I completed two Bachelor's degrees at Worcester State University in Massachusetts. I have a B.A in Spanish and a B.A in Communication.

I love Spanish, and I believe that you can really get the hang of it after a little time and practice. With grammar review, practice, and vocabulary memorization, it becomes really easy to learn this language. I am more than happy to be here to help you learn this exciting language! Proper pacing is crucial to learning a new language. Therefore, I make each lesson customized for every student.

Aside from Spanish, I also teach Adobe Photoshop & Photography. There are endless possibilities with Photoshop, and I am here to let you discover some of them. No experience? Tired of watching online tutorials with no feedback? Maybe you need a tutor to guide you through the process!

We will start off with layers and then go on from there, moving into the more intricate tools such as the pen tool, layer masks, and blending modes.

For photography lessons, I teach you the technical language you need to know when talking about photos. I will show you how to command your DSLR camera to get the exact photo you want.

This class is for anyone who has just started to use a camera, or is interested in photography! The focus of this class is shutter speed: We will talk about how shutter speed effects our pictures, as well as how to control it specifically in your camera. We will do a fun exercise where we will do a long exposure photo together and make a drawing with light image! Students will be given a series of optional exercises to do as homework.

Sam is thorough and explains everything well. He also provided emails after each lesson with attachments relating to what we had gone over.

Sam is the best person I recommend if you want to learn the basics of photography, lightroom, and Photoshop. Sam has been the greatest teacher ever, he is so kind and caring and really cares about you progressing as a photographer. Even if you are already into photography and you are not a beginner, then Sam can still teach you so much. Sam is just the most outstanding teacher, and he is very personable.

I learned so much in the first session alone! Lots of “ah-ha “ moments.  Sam is very knowledgeable and the class was very interesting with different demonstrations of the concepts being taught!
