About Joseph
Joseph Rincón has been honing his abilities on the guitar for over eighteen years and has performed extensively throughout the United States and in Spain. He earned his B.M. in Performance degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as receiving a formal recognition as “Outstanding Performer” by the faculty of the department of music. He also received two additional recognition and scholarships from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for his exceptional skill in music performance.

In 2017, he completed the Máster en Interpretación de Guitarra Clásica program at the Universitat d'Alacant, in Alicante, Spain. During his time in Spain, he studied closely with world-renowned guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco, Xavier Díaz-Latorre, Pepe Romero, Fabio Zanon, and Grammy-Award winning guitarist David Russell.

Over the years, he has been recognized for his outstanding musicality and his passionate performances. His guitar playing and musicianship has been described as “a combination of deep and moving musical ideas with beautiful sound and refined technique”. His performances are energetic and highly expressive, whether he is performing for a large audience or a small and intimate gathering.

In addition to frequently performing in the Charlotte, Lake Norman, and surrounding areas, he is also an inspired music teacher. He teaches various styles of guitar, including electric and steel-string acoustic guitar, as well as different musical genres such as rock, blues, and folk. As an instructor, he wants to share his love of music with his students, and his goal is to awaken the musical potential in them. He is a highly dedicated professional with a desire to not only teach students how to play the guitar but to learn how to use the guitar as a vehicle of musical expression.

About Heather
Teaching violin has been a rewarding experience for myself and my students! Using the Suzuki method, students are able to play the violin at young ages which is great for brain development, learning to control sounds, and also learning to be disciplined in as as they learn to practice in small amounts! The Suzuki method is a great starting point, but other methods are also fun: Mark O'Conner, All for Strings, Essentials for Strings, Sassmanshaus, etc.

About Michelle
I took private music lessons (piano and voice) until I graduated from high school, and gained experience as a performer and accompanist. I obtained a regular role playing at our church when I was in the 7th grade, and became a regular accompanist for the school choir and various community activities. I was the pianist/music director in each high school drama production and gained experience working with an orchestra and singing in and directing the choir.

I continued as an accompanist and vocalist in college. Since college, I have provided music for weddings and events.

I love to share music with others. Music is happiness! It brings people together and aids development for children. It's truly enjoyable for me to pass along the love of music to my students.

Jonathan is an excellent instructor. My lessons were scheduled in the evenings and he accommodated my busy work schedule. He presented the lessons clearly; he adapted my lesson to my learning style and never forced me into just 1 style of learning. He also gave me a lesson manual and discussed alternative ways of practicing at home. Joanathan is extremely knowledgeable, I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn violin.

Hey there! My name is Hannah, I have been teaching piano for about 7 years, and over that time had 6 students. They were all completely new to the piano (and music in general) but by the time they finished taking lessons, all students were able to play music in church, and just for fun at home. I love being able to take a completely new student who is willing to learn, and see him/her learn to play and even enjoy (yes, enjoy ;) playing the piano.

About Krystle
Krystle is a multi-instrumentalist who's been playing for almost 20 years. She made a living as a professional musician in her early 20s and has since found her calling in music education.

After volunteering for Girls Rock Charlotte (a nonprofit that amplifies confidence in all girls through the power of music) in 2014, Krystle discovered she enjoyed teaching and was good at it. Passionate about music education and clear in her communication, parents started asking her to teach their children in private instruction. She is now the Music Director for Girls Rock Charlotte and has since founded Lady Rockstars. It's a six week group class where women learn to play guitar and bass, form a band, and then have a concert at the end. At this point she's taught over 20 group classes and many more to come. Largely due to the nature of group class
es, She's taught well over 100 people and loves teaching and connecting people through music. Due to the success of her Lady Rockstars program, she has been able to open her own brick and mortar location in Indian Trail and is ready to take on more students.

· Bass Guitar ·
Krystle provides clear, well-planned, easy to follow instruction on the bass guitar. She excels at working with students on songs and genres they enjoy and provides arrangements that allow early success and encouragement for the learner. She is adept at assessing a student’s strengths and deficiencies and can zero in on exercises and songs that provide both skill development and the satisfaction of mastering a challenge. Her extensive teaching experience enables her to customize her instruction for any age or skill level. As an adult learner, I appreciate that Krystle’s feedback is direct, on target and encouraging. She sincerely wants her students to do well and to feel confident and accomplished. While teaching, she holds back on flashing her own considerable prowess as a bassist to avoid discouraging comparisons for beginners. More advanced students, however, find her performances and jams aspirational examples of skills attained through practice, performance and dedicated musicianship. Krystle’s personal style is warm and informal, but her lessons are thoughtful and efficient so that the student makes rapid incremental progress on learning the bass guitar.
