Carnival Cruise Lines staff musician; '99 -2000

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that your interest in the instrument from the "get-go" is what makes the lessons seem to fly by. As you learn, this interest only gets stronger. It is my responsibility as the teacher to make sure your time spent with me is time spent where knowledge is TRANSFERRED to you and not DISPLAYED to you. There will be responsibilities for you as the student, as this is necessary in order for you to get intimately acquainted with your instrument. But my style of teaching is simple & laid back. I feel the need that learning be enjoyable.
..as we both learn together and as you get to the place that you want to be as a musician!...at your pace!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my personal instrument. The student must provide instrument he / she wishes to learn on.

A few minutes to get to know each other than Sue used the books I brought to get started. I explained my previous lessons, where I felt I was at, then Sue took over. She was very relaxed, which relaxed me.
It is important to bring at least one piano book if you had taken lessons in the past.
Again, I did feel very comfortable, it was a nice 1st lesson.

About Michelle
I took private music lessons (piano and voice) until I graduated from high school, and gained experience as a performer and accompanist. I obtained a regular role playing at our church when I was in the 7th grade, and became a regular accompanist for the school choir and various community activities. I was the pianist/music director in each high school drama production and gained experience working with an orchestra and singing in and directing the choir.

I continued as an accompanist and vocalist in college. Since college, I have provided music for weddings and events.

I love to share music with others. Music is happiness! It brings people together and aids development for children. It's truly enjoyable for me to pass along the love of music to my students.

I've been working with Nate for almost a year now in the band Mile Twelve, and my experience with him has been incredible. Not only is he a amazingly well-learned, proficient, and creative musician, but he's one of the most understanding and helpful guys that I know. I've learned so much from playing with Nate, and I know his students are in good hands.

Working with Nate is great! By working step by step through a couple songs I brought with me, and I noticed an across-the-board improvement in my playing after the first lesson. Plus, we have a good time of it!

Nate has a very good ear, and is quickly able to identify problems, and thoroughly explain how to fix them. Whether a technique thing, or subtle nuances in timing, or tone, Nate always finds the clear path to expressing the goal, and how to get there.
I'd recommend Nate to anyone seeking to improve their playing. The rest is practice, practice, practice.

My name's Natalie, and I'm a voice and flute teacher! I studied Vocal Performance and Flute Performance at the University of California Santa Cruz, and got my Masters of Music in Vocal Arts at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

I specialize in classical voice and opera, though I believe a good vocal technical foundation is applicable to all musical styles. I also teach music theory, for those just getting into music, and for those who would appreciate a refresher. Since I studied both flute and voice, I am especially well trained in breath management and alignment. The breath is the most important thing in both flute and voice. It's what sends our sound out into the world!

About Taylor
Singing is truly a science and mostly in the mind. Let me teach you to control your mind so that you can sing the way you've always dreamed to.

Taylor studied music and participated in ensembles throughout her childhood (her award-winning high school show choir was even the subject of the BBC documentary "Gleeful: The Real Show Choirs of America"). This led her to SUNY Fredonia where she studied classical voice and music education before transferring to Berklee College of Music to complete a degree in Professional Music with a concentration in jazz performance. Following graduation, Taylor began teaching private lessons, and has instructed students aged 5 to 65 on piano, voice and trumpet. She has experience working with students on their songwriting, building their repertoire, developing their technique, and most importantly, buildin
g their confidence and their passion. Currently, Taylor performs professionally with a number of groups, perhaps most notably as the front-woman and trumpet player for Jay-Z/Beyonce cover band For the Record, who even earned a spot opening for Salt N’ Pepa at Boston's ThrowABBQ Night. She also leads her own 9-piece jazz/r&b group in which she writes all of the music.

About Andy
I am an educator, composer, and performer based in Cincinnati, OH. I have studied piano for 25 years with masters and doctoral degrees in piano and composition from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Piano students should expect progress in technique, reading, aural skills, and improv/composition. I enjoy teaching a variety of ages and levels from beginners to those that want to major in instrumental performance. I draw out each student's natural creativity, motivation, and strengths so that they develop into a unique and independent musician. The ultimate goal is to teach myself out of a job.

As a composer, I have been commissioned to write pieces for pre-college students across the country, concert pianists, Cincinnati Public Radio, and regional piano competitions. I am also the director of the Creative Co
