My students learn creative strategies for writing original music, based on my studies and many years of experience. Even students without a solid musical background will learn fundamentals that will help them to create songs in a short time. We also work on how to brainstorm lyrics and revise and refine. As we progress, we can also learn about skills like writing for a band, transcribing, recording, and self-production.

Finding a good physics teacher/tutor, for some odd reason, is perhaps more challenging than physics itself. Physics is actually quite fun when you have someone who can effectively communicate the more complex and counter-intuitive insights about the way our universe works.

As a physics tutor, my job is not to show off how much I know, but rather it's to help you find your understanding of the material and become great at it yourself. I do this by 1) not assuming you should "just know" how to properly set up a particular problem 2) not expecting you to "just get" why a particular phenomenon is the way it is 3) by asking you questions about what may be confusing or counter-intuitive, and using various approaches to explaining it until we find the one that works for your unique way of thinking about physical laws and properties.

"My son had a very positive experience studying cello with Genevieve for two years before she moved to a new city for a job opportunity. We would have loved to continue studying with her! Genevieve was very positive and encouraging to my son and really helped him improve his bowing and fingering technique. She was always very patient but pushed just enough so that my son felt challenged and proud of the continual improvement in his playing. She also was very organized and always started and ended lessons on time. We highly recommend Genevieve as a cello teacher!"

"Prior to meeting William, I took guitar lessons from another guitar teacher and my parents were noticing that after a few months of lessons, I was not improving from when I started. This is when I met William. From the get go, William requested that I bring a notebook, folders and my own pick which was vastly different from my last teacher who did not go by the book and never asked me to bring my own equipment.
Every lesson I had with William was structured, planned and never did I have a lesson where William was not prepared. In fact, the lessons in which we could not do much were my fault, not Williams due to me not practicing enough or forgetting my equipment. The lessons William teach are incredibly engaging as he does not go strictly by the book and is willing to cater the curriculum towards what a student is interested in. Although I am no longer taking classes with William due to schooling, it is because of Williams great teaching and remarkable persona that to this day I can still recall the lessons I learned.
Curriculum aside, William is a fantastic person who not only is funny and engaging, but has both the skill and love for teaching music. On a final note, one of the best aspects of taking lessons with Williams is that he genuinely cares about his students. There were many times were we reserved some time at the end of a lesson to talk about life or struggles that were hindering me in both music and in life. As a former student and friend of William, I cannot recommend a better music teacher than him, although I will say that if you like to slack and are not truly invested in music, than Williams might not be for you."

She was also able to help me with ear training lessons which was also surprisingly easy, considering it was a topic I felt I had a lot of trouble with at the time. She's one of the best, no doubt.
