About Jessica
Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. Please feel free to ask me any questions. -Jessica

***About Jessica***
Jessica is known worldwide for her music which incorporates her original comedy, artwork and videos. She spent a decade touring the US and the UK and has performed in many festivals including the Reading & Leeds Festival, Latitude Festival, Montreal Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dublin Comedy Festival, End of the Road Festival, NY Funny Songs Festival, NY International Children’s Film Festival and more.

Jessica’s music and comedy is inspired by being the oldest of 6 girls and growing up in a small town in Maine, where she taught Sunday school and counseled teens and twins in a local after school program for four years. When Jessica was 19, she moved to Philadelphia to study animation after receiving a par
tial scholarship to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and relocated to NYC shortly after graduating.

Her unique music, performances, art and internet videos have won many awards and critical acclaim.

She has performed her music and written segments and songs for television (including ABC’s “Good Morning America”, MTV’s “I Bet You Will”, Fox News “Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld”, IFC's "Comedy Music Hall of Fame", HGTV's Flea Market Flip, TBS’s “Saving Grace” website and “The Tyra Banks Show”), radio (including "The Dr. Demento Show", "The Jackie Martling Show", WFMU's "Spreading Yourself Thin with Jessica D" and “The Opie and Anthony Radio Show” on SiriusXM, BBC’s “Loose Ends Radio Programme” and BBC’s “The Simone Show” in the UK), feature films (including “What Would Jesus Buy?” directed by Morgan Spurlock), commercially for major clients and also on stages across the US and the UK (including London’s prestigious Soho Theatre, NYC’s Irving Plaza, Joe’s Pub and The Bowery Ballroom as John Waters’ opening act, and LA’s Troubadour).

*** Lesson Details ***
Jessica brings a lot of fun to her lessons. She is like a cool aunt or a big sister who likes to have a good time but who also wants to teach you to play guitar or ukulele and sing, hopefully at the same time. Jessica's laid back style and attention to your needs as a student will help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Together, you will go as fast or as slow as is comfortable for you. Jessica works with classic rock, pop, folk and all your favorite songs as your step ladder for learning. Jessica also can help you develop your own musical style and teach you to write YOUR OWN SONGS from beginning to end, if that is of interest to you.

*** Studio Equipment ***
amp, microphone, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, music stands

*** Travel Equipment ***
Guitar and Ukulele. Students can rent instruments initially but must get their own, as soon as possible

*** Specialties ***
Classic stringed instruments such as acoustic / electric guitar and ukulele, and several unusual instruments such as singing saw and electronic and standard autoharp, singing, songwriting and guidance on how to monetize your band, including acquiring sponsorships and arranging local and international tours.

***What Are Lessons Like?***
Student(s) and teacher sit together and start with the basics, then move on to learn others' songs (The Beatles or other classics are a good place to start) and then may even try to compose original songs, if that is of interest.

Jessica is a virtuoso on the ukulele. She has the patience of a saint with less than adept students. Yet she is insistent, in a gentle way, about instilling correct form in her students' approach to the uke. In addition, she is a walking encyclopedia of songs that span the range from traditional to standards to current day favorites, and from country to r&B to rock and roll.

About Marco
I started playing guitar seriously at the age of 12 and have been a guitar teacher for 22 years. My first influences were rock and metal. In my later teens, I became very interested in other music genres such as jazz, fusion and classical. I began my formal music education as a Classical Guitar performance major, ultimately obtaining a Masters Degree in Music Composition from the Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music.

The road I have taken with music has been paved with many unexpected twists and turns. Throughout my many years of learning and making new discoveries, I have now arrived at a point where I am able to productively incorporate knowledge from various experiences with music and education into my own creativity and teaching. I never expect to stop learning or exploring, and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm, valu
able experiences and knowledge with my students.

Marco is one of the best teacher ever, I knew him way back in 1997 when I first came in to the state. At first, one of my friend was taking the session and he didn't mind me just staying and observed. After a few classes, I decided to go with Marco. As a new immigrant, language barrier is a problem. He 's patiently teach me from a to z. Making sure I understand everything. Although, I knew some of the basic of the guitar. I was surprisingly I could learn how to read music. Be able to improvise with him during lesson. You're not just learning how to play song/guitar. You learn music theory all in a packet. I still remember one day I was playing in the local shop in HK, people was whispering this guy is good. This is a good memory that I have until now.

I was a student of Marco's for about two-almost three years, and his excitement, love, desire, wisdom and passion for music and teaching is something that can't be described in words. Marco is a teacher that likes to have fun with whatever it is he may be teaching, but he is also very serious about it to make sure his students learn what they want in the best way possible to them. He will encourage his students if they need it and congratulate you every time you complete whatever it is you may have learned from him. I mostly learned techniques/songs from artist's such as Randy Rhoads, Angus Young, and much more from Marco. He will not let you down. He won't give up on you. I would gladly learn from him any time /any chance I'd get.

Marco has been teaching my son how to play the guitar since 2008. I feel that we were blessed having Marco as my son's first teacher. He really understood him and I was brought to tears at his very first recital when I was amazed how much he had learned in just a short few months. He is a senior in HS now and he has a love for the guitar and a passion to learn new music on his own.
Marco is an exceptional teacher who is very patient and understands his students and listens to their needs. He is extremely talented and anyone would be very lucky to have him as their music instructor. I recommend him highly. He is the best!

About Monica
I'm a performing artist and music teacher. I received my Bachelors and Masters degree in music at Boston's New England Conservatory, where I was a member of the jazz, classical, and third-stream departments. I also spent 8 years gigging in Berlin, Germany and teaching adults and teenagers. However, I've always also enjoyed working with kids; especially introducing them to music through piano, language, movement, role-playing, and singing. I have the most experience teaching piano, and I think it's the best instrument to start on, if you don't know much about music, but flute was my first instrument, and singing is my forte!

Every week Erin is looking forward to her lesson and she really seems to enjoy learning as Monica makes the lessons fun for her. There seems to be a perfect balance of discipline and creative play that keeps Erin not only interested, but excited to learn! We could not be more satisfied.

Monica works wonderfully with my sons aged 3 and 6. She is patient and good natured while pushing them to continue challenging themselves. I usually hear laughter accompanying the lesson and both boys are always excited to show me how much they have progressed. After she leaves after the lessons, my little one always hollers out the door " I love you Monica!" I recommend her without reservation.

About Anna
Hello, I am a New York based musician and educator, available for piano or clarinet lessons, and I am always excited to help my students discover more music. It is my mission to work with students to enjoy playing music, and to mold my lessons to fit your expectations and lifestyle. Every student is different, and I do my best to teach to your needs and interests. I am flexible and willing to work around busy schedules to teach you more about reading music, understanding music, and playing your instrument more effectively.

I have been involved with music for my whole life, beginning piano lessons at age 5 and clarinet lessons at age 8, and continuing lessons to this day. I have since earned degrees in clarinet performance from SUNY Fredonia and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As a conservatory trained musician, I have a wide r
ange of knowledge on all aspects of music, including theory, history, ensemble playing, auditioning, and performing. I have a vast knowledge of lesson books and repertoire and am ready to draw from this knowledge to find the right music for you to play and enjoy.

Lessons are structured to teach students to problem-solve on their own, practice effectively, and enjoy playing their instruments more comfortably and successfully. I am particularly interested in teaching students to enjoy their art, and to bring out the different musical talents of each individual. The ultimate goal is to foster a love of music and a self-reliance and confidence that comes with learning to play an instrument.

I look forward to exploring music with new students, and can’t wait to work with you!

I have been studying with Brian for almost 5 years and I enjoyed every hour of his lesson. He has taught me how to achieve a singing tone at the piano; more importantly, he has opened up a whole new world of beauty for me through piano playing. He is an amazing artist--I feel really grateful that I had the chance to attend his recital and hear him live.

As someone who has studied and worked in multiple disciplines, my perspective as a teacher and an artist is at a unique crossroads. With a background in classical piano, voice, drama, musical theater, rock, and the pastry and culinary arts, I draw from a multitude of influences to interest and excite my students!

Having taught children from preschool through junior high across the arts, I am very interested in properly setting up young players to grow as musicians. I want to instill in the beginning student the proper physical technique and knowledge of basic music theory, so that using these tools becomes second nature and the student can develop her/his own musicality at a younger age.

Music is my first love. After taking music lessons in High School, I wanted to continue to persue my love for playing the Bass - so I started saving for music school. But just like the Pixar movie Up, life got in the way as my savings went to more pressings needs.

Then I met Jordan [my balloon]. Jordan made me realize that I can still get quality and affordable lessons from an experience performer.

After every lesson I would notice a difference in my performance [which I am currently still taking]. Not sure where my love for music will take me, but I am glad Jordan is there to guide me through.

So if you are looking for a talented, smart, and true profession, go with Jordan. You will definitely get more for your buck.

Thank you Jordan :)

I received my bachelor's degree in Voice from Susquehanna University, where I served as a student voice teacher and a music theory tutor. I am currently completing my master's degree in musicology at Mason Gross School of the Arts, where I also studied opera performance, taught undergraduate music surveys, privately tutored Diction, and directed opera department productions.

I have participated in a number of different musical ensembles and performances including operas, recitals, choirs, a cappella groups, musicals, and liturgical music.

Through my own vocal journey, I have worked with numerous teachers, voice professionals and medical specialists concerning vocal faults and health issues. This has fostered my pedagogical understanding of the voice and my emphasis on vocal health.

My approach with students is to find a natural, healt
hy, and unique sound that comes with good technique, care of the voice, and musical knowledge. Supplemented by regular practice, my lessons will address the individual needs of every student; just like a fingerprint, every voice is unique and presents unique challenges.

In addition to voice lessons, I teach beginning piano and music theory lessons, establishing a firm musical foundation for those who wish to supplement their voice lessons or improve their performance on another instrument.
