I have been crocheting since I was seven years old. I have made hundreds of projects. I specialize in baby apparel but I also make specialty items such as: purses, scarves, beanies, headbands, and blankets. There isn't much I cannot make with a pattern by my side.
I have been teaching Piano for 20 years now. I have taught students from age 2 1/2 - Adult. I was self-taught when I was a kid and begun taking formal lessons as a very young adult in my early twenties. I graduated from CSULB with my BA in Music with a concentration on Voice. As a Music major, you spend a lot of time at the Piano. I became a member of MTAC in 2004 and a member of Sigma Alpha Iota in 1998. I have a great passion for Music and a bigger passion for the Piano and sharing the wonders of how beautiful the Piano really is.
*** Lesson Details *** In my opinion, piano is the hardest instrument to learn, but the most rewarding. If you can play piano you can pretty much play any instrument. I believe that a piano lesson should be fun. I'm a strict teacher with a smile and a giggle. I push my students to greatness while helping t
hem love the piano through the good times and the bad. I'm a very encouraging but honest teacher. I compliment when warranted and I assess incorrect performances in an honest, but encouraging manner. I always let a student know that, though their performance was not their best, they can and will improve. It's always only a matter of time. I use the Schaum and Nevin series depending on the student's personality. I teach Classical and Pop Music. It's important for a student to learn the Classics and gain the ability to play things they like. I find the happy balance between the two. I teach Beginning to Intermediate levels. I also like to incorporate Music theory into the lessons because understanding the mechanics of Music helps make playing and creating Music much easier to accomplish. A typical lesson will start off with a hand drill warm up. We then will move on to the lesson book and repertoire. Theory will be assigned as homework. I look it over at the beginning of the lesson and discuss it and answer any questions in the last five minutes of class. Baby lessons go as followed: 15 mins. of play time and 15 mins of Music theory. I like to keep structure in my lessons but sprinkle a little joy and laughter to keep the atmosphere light. It makes for a much more attentive Piano student.
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to have a Piano or Keyboard of some sort. I may provide music on occasion.
I have been crocheting for some time now, and have done many different types of projects. I also sell scarves/hats online. I can help you with the basics of crochet to get you started on your crocheting adventures.
Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,
plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!
History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.
Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!
Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!
I've been crocheting for 15 years and I've never had a student leave a lesson unhappy. Within the first hour or so, you'll be able to do the basics of a chain and a single crochet and as time goes on you' will be able to make almost anything and read patterns. I specialize in crochet toys, but have also made blankets, hats, booties, art installations, etc. You will require yarn and a hook for your lessons. If you wish to practice at home you can purchase both of these in most craft stores for under $5. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Erin is an outstanding instructor. She is very, very knowledgeable. I have a pattern and it was poorly written. She was able to untangle it and explain it to me so that I can work on it independently. She is very patient. I would highly recommend her to anyone learning knitting, stuck on a pattern, or want to expand on their knitting skills. She has a lot of knowledge and can explain and impart this knowledge very well. She is a truly great instructor.

Erin is a great explainer and helps any way she can!
Whether you are a beginner or looking to improve your skill, learn in a stress free, patient environment.
I have been crocheting, knitting and sewing since I was 8 years old. I studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and design knitted, crochet and sewing garment.
Over the years I have taught adults and children and currently teach at an after-school program. Previously, I taught both group and private lessons at my yarn Slip Stitch Needlecraft. My years of teaching has give me insight on different learning styles, and adapt my lesson to each student so that they can learn in and enjoyable, stress-free manner.
Great crochet lesson from Claudette. I wanted more info on design and the lesson was tailored around specifics that I needed to help me design new garments and also improve my existing designs. Claudette is very friend and personable and hugely knowledgeable on crochet!

My youth was spent in Eastern Europe which meant cold winters. With that came mom’s teaching on how to make a scarf, a blanket, socks and sweaters. Though nowadays it may be counterproductive to knit, there is no better way to show someone you love than something that is handmade by you. I’ll teach you what it takes to get started. Book your sessions now and let’s start crocheting.
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).
I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.
I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.
I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.
I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.
I want you to enjoy crocheting! Let's smile, make jokes, and learn a new hobby together! After your initial lesson you will have a grasp on basic stitches. From there, I will help you develop your crochet skills so you can venture out and begin creating for yourself or for gifts! Nothing beats a hand-made gift!
After each lesson, I will give you a small assignment to work on that will help you develop. I will let you lead the pace. Crocheting is fun and should never be stressful!
I have been crocheting since I was 12 years old. Throughout the years I crocheted blankets, granny squares, Character hats, beanies, scarves, amigurumi, baby clothes, and so much more. Crocheting has been an outlet where I de-stress and unleash my creativity! I always have a can-do mind! If I can imagine it, I will crochet it!
I am a very back-to-basics teacher. Crochet is a craft where learning the absolute basics will allow you to create incredible things. Just using the basics of chaining, single crochet, double crochet, color-changing, and crochet in the round, I was able to invent patterns for and create over a dozen unique pillows for my friends. Learning a stitch like a half-double back post crochet may sound impressive, and can allow you to create a unique design, but it's not necessary to make something beautiful.
I will walk you through the basics of crochet and teach you to make a few basic things to get a feel for the craft. I can also assist you in reading a pattern you may have found somewhere, as well as trying to determine how something you found was made so you can try to recreate it. I will also walk you through the basic terminology and mechanics of the craft, such a hook size, yarn weight, and things like that.
I am a law student currently looking to do some extra work and make a little money on the side. I began to crochet about three and a half years ago, picking up a how-to book, a hook, and some yarn from my local Micheals. I wanted something to do with my hands while watching TV aside from playing Minecraft for the thousandth time, and crochet became the answer.
Crochet is an excellent hobby, especially for a person with ADHD like myself. It allows me to occupy my hands when doing something else, while at the same time creating creative and useful. It can also be a great stress reliever, allowing you to get lost in the repetitive, almost mindless motions of the hook and yarn.
I look forward to meeting with you and passing on the knowledge I have acquired.
