Outstanding start.

While I had previous experience playing an instrument MANY years ago, I never played the piano and started taking lessons with Lori as an adult. In almost no time I was able to read the bass clef (left hand) notes and within the year I had learned all the scales (majors and relative minors - both harmonic and melodic) and arpeggios (root and inversions). I was also playing "real" pieces of music.

Lori stresses good technique and good practice habits and can suggest more than one way to master a concept. She also makes learning the piano fun.

Accompaniment is an essential part of music making for so many areas and levels of music, everything from playing for church to a Broadway pit orchestra requires a quality accompanist. Learning how to accompany is not simply the same as learning to play the piano, many fantastic pianists struggle greatly with accompanying. In lessons together we will discover what the qualities of a good accompanist are, how to maximize individual strengths, how to learn music very quickly, and the art of the orchestra reduction. We can specialize the lessons to focus on vocal accompanying, music theater accompanying, instrumental accompanying, church accompanying, etc.

About Erik

Pianist, music director, and vocal coach, Erik was born and raised in Eastern Washington state. As a solo pianist, he has been heard all across the northwest and beyond, in cities including Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia, and internationally in Prague a

Erik is a teacher, when I say teacher I mean someone who makes up a lesson plan on the spot, so that you'll be prepared for your next session.

Kudos for Erik,

Erik made an excellent first impression with our beginner level 9-year-old son. Erik’s knowledge and experience, mixed with his teaching style, seem to be a good fit for him.

Learn worship skills from a Worship Director with 15+ years of experience. I teach keyboard and/or guitar for worship, and vocal styling for the worship leader.

Playing in a worship band is a very specific skill set. Let me help you learn to find your place in a band, navigate chord charts, and give your worship pastor exactly what they are asking for. Are you a Worship Leader/Pastor? Let me help you refine your arrangement skills and become a better musical communicator.

About Jenna

I am the Worship Director at a Vineyard church in Billings, Montana, and have my own virtual Spiritual Direction practice (a form of pastoral care). I lead worship from both piano and guitar (though not at the same time!) and write songs and liturgy for my church and the larger worship community. I

I have had ten years of piano lessons prior to meeting Jenna, but she has given me tools to continue improving on my own! She is incredible at assessing where a student is and taking them to their own next level whether that be reading music, to different chording rhythms and styles, to directing a band. I am learning so much with each session with Jenna. Highly recommend!

"Lena is a wonderful, patient instructor! I am so grateful to have found her. My 11 year old son is learning a lot. He was hesitant to play the piano at first but as he is getting better, I could tell that he is beginning to enjoy playing and it brings him confidence to be able to play an entire song. It has been a wonderful experience and I will be bringing my other son to Lena! Highly recommend her!"

"I have four children, all take lessons from Carolyn. We’ve been with her for 12 years, since my oldest started in 2nd grade. She’s now teaching my youngest.

All of my children have progressed nicely. Carolyn allows the kids to play various types of music once they past the beginner stage. . My son, who has only taken a couple of years, has mastered Bohemian Rhaposody which is no small feat!

She has two recitals a year and is understanding if a lesson needs to be switched every now and then.

I highly recommend Carolyn."
