Hello my name is Pam. I started my musical journey at the age of six. I was very fortunate to have parents that invested in my music education at a young age. Excellent Teacher

My 6 years old son has been taking lessons from Pam for the last 3 months or so. He has improved tremendously, Pam has been able to make piano fun and interesting for him. Each lesson is planned and follow on from the previous lesson to maintain continuity. She gives her full attention to my son and chooses songs for him that are tailored to his needs. We don't have enough words to describe how happy my son is every time he has a piano lesson. I highly recommend Pam.

Melody H.

Lake Worth, FL

About Melody

I started music at age 5. My parents were both professional musicians. My father was a professional jazz piano player and my mother a classical guitarist. So it is in the blood. I played a few instruments but my favorite guitar and piano. The bass is cool too. I went to Nassau Community College for Drama/Music I toured in theater groups and also was in a few bands while living in NY. I could not make up my mind so I did both. I love both ! I left NY to come down to So. Florida in 1991 due to my father's passing. Since I was new to the area I starting performing regular basis and became well k
nown in the music community.I also went on a song writing spree which was good! I was able to do dinner theater in between the music. I met these two guys now my friends and music teachers from going to the open mics. They encouraged me to go out and start teaching and do what I was supposed to do. How it happened ? I placed one small ad, got a call and from there it grew into over 80 students.I just was referred to everyone it was a chain reaction.
In between teaching I was also in a duo and made time for the touring, local gigs, etc....released 3 CD's.
I was very busy that I decided to open up my own facility to handle the flow of students. I had my business for 9 years. I decided to close it down.
I produced a lot of talent from there.songwriters with published songs, singers with contracts, bands like the guitarist that played in Hey Monday. Students that started with me at age 5 and stayed for years. A lot are off to college or done with school grown up sort of. When they bump into me and say hey Ms. Mel I'll never forget you teaching me music lessons or do you remember this or that or I loved that band class you did. You changed my whole life. I really appreciate it and I did make a difference in their lives.

*** Lesson Details ***
Cancellations must be 24 hours in advance in order to qualify for a make up lesson. This will be my discretion.
Practice yes that is the question... OK I am not mean and I am not too laid back but if you do not do what your supposed to do be prepared to work. If you do not understand it we will do it until you get it. Remember you bugged mom for the lessons and here you are so it is important that you practice. Cut down on video games and TV. I expect you to be ready to go when you get there. If you want to be a rock star
Little ones mom's I love when you sit in because I am teaching you as well. You will be helping your child practice during the week until the next lesson. For the guitar they will complain of hurting finger tips I cannot do anything about that it comes with guitar playing. Same for piano except the fingers will not hurt.
After 3 to 6 months for the older student I expect all 6 strings to be complete and chords and strumming on guitar and learning songs of your choice.
Piano - Sight Reading and being able to play with 2 hands in the key of "C" with ease.
this will happen with practice, And learning songs of your choice.
Small ones as much time as they need depends upon how long it takes for them to learn it and how much time mom can help practice.
I do make it fun and any student should not feel like they have to get sick before they go to their lesson.

Barbara Weiss is a wonderful teacher. Each session Barbara is prepared to challenge me and make me a better ukulele player. She brings joy to learning. Barbara has the ability to make music theory understandable. I love our time together!

I had been playing the uke for a few years before I started working with Barbara. I was a "chord memorizer" who lacked theory. Barbara is patient, listens, is extremely knowledgeable and explains and demonstrates in a way that even I can understand. She has made a huge difference in my playing ability and in my understanding of music.

Mike B.

Lake Worth, FL

About Mike

I teach all styles of music and all levels of ability

As I look back at my life, I see that music was my constant companion. My passion for music, and more specifically for the guitar, goes back to the time when, as a ten year old I received a guitar for my birthday. The sound of the instrument truly struck a chord in my heart and I learned to respect and love the instrument to the point that I thought of it almost as a companion, as something alive or, more exactly, as something my fingers could make come alive. At first I wanted to play rock and popular music, but eventually I switched
to classical. When I entered the realm of classical music, a whole new world opened up for me -- new feelings, new emotions, and new challenges.
My enthusiasm for music continued, and beginning in 1990 I attended the Hartt School of Music, part of the University of Hartford. I knew, of course, that the education of a musician is truly never finished, and between 1995 and 1997, I took Master Jazz Classes in New York City, under the direction of Dennis Cinelli, the international guitar player and soloist.
While in Florida, I attended classes at Florida International University. Between 2000 and 2003 I played in an orchestra on board the ships of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
All along the way I have been teaching the guitar at just about every level, an activity that I always enjoyed but admittedly is somewhat limiting. Teaching brings us back to the basics, but for a musician performing is what makes us grow professionally and satisfy us emotionally.

I really like Mike.

First off - he is SUPER punctual. The one time he was running late I even got a timely text message warning.

Second - he is very good at diagnosing issues and providing the right exercise/coaching.

Third - he is very flexible. I feel him supporting my music choices... not imposing his still or preferences.

And finally - he seems to me (I'm not good enough to judge) VERY skilled as a player... able to deconstruct songs, able to transpose quickly, able to find alternative strumming patterns.

I really feel very good about recommending him.

Mike is a great musician and knows how to translate that to his students. He cares about his students and goes the extra distance. He is patient but knows how to get the most out of his student's ability. I have been taking lessons with Mike for 2 years now and never expected to be as advanced as he has helped me to be. He is a wonderful teacher!!
