About Axel
I found out early on (age of 13) that I had a facility to teach and help friends understand music concepts. Some said it's a gift, others said it's vocation. To me it was just sharing what I loved. Since I had already decided to make music my career I made it a point to learn more and all I could i

Acoustic guitar can be a very diverse instrument, used (at least occasionally) in most common styles of music. I'll help you learn the basics and perfect the subtleties to make it shine.

Book NowStudents learning music are not only learning the fundamentals of music, but a new form of self expression and identity. I've been teaching privately for about 3 years, studying for 8 years. I incorporate technique, theory, sight reading, and repertoire into my lessons. I believe in quality practice, not quantity. Students will learn to practice effectively with proper guidance and support to maximize their progress at their own pace.

I Have been teaching for 10 + years.Part of my daily focus is on relaxed breathing and generating a big beautiful tone for every note played. Long tones are something that I include in my daily regiment. Lots of dexterity exercises, range building, as well as endurance.
Another aspect of my daily regiment is improvisation. focusing on major/minor/ whole tone/diminished scales/ II-Vs in all keys and playing changes!
Lastly RESTING as MUCH as you PRACTICE is very IMPORTANT!

In classical piano lessons we can explore works the great works of the classical composers. My favorites are Bach, Beethoven, and Debussy. I am always happy to assign repertoire but welcome students bringing in a piece they'd like to learn.

I do not teach guitar for readers or cover artists. If you want to learn how to find your own style and build on what is unique and valuable in what you play, I can help you.
I typically can't offer much to an already advanced player as they've already acquired and embedded habits I will train less experienced players to either avoid or incorporate from a creative rather than copy-cat methodology.
Students will be taught "Expressive Practicing", a technique emphasizing skills earned through inspired playing. This is a highly individualized method based on the students instinctive capabilities such as having an natural "ear". Fundamentals are taught as applied through a run-before-you-walk set of exercises and structured improvisation techniques.
About Richard
I can't wait to work with you! I am passionate about the subjects I teach, and find nothing can compare to seeing a student "get it", so they may too enjoy the passion that comes from learning and doing something they love. Everything I teach I've learned most completely by doing as a Profession

As someone who knew nothing about playing/reading music of any sort, I find myself recognizing and playing a few chords and notes just after about 10 classes! All thanks to John. I agree with the other reviewer that he truly has the patience of a saint. He is very laid back and helps me learn at my own pace while enjoying myself throughout the process irrespective of how much practice I put in. Whole heartedly recommend John for learning the guitar. Thanks very much John. You are the best!"

I was a relatively aimless player and Matt showed me how to apply myself to music. Highly recommended!"

Alayne is a great listener, very flexible, and made the leason fun. I felt she made my goals a priority to fit into her lesson plan that still covered the basics. I appreciate having the CD to practice with at home."

Having trouble with your violin vibrato? It's a difficult technique to learn, but once you've mastered it, you'll be able to create that beautiful, almost shimmering sound that professional violinists boast. Vibrato is best learned with a private violin teacher, who can guide you through specific exercises, as well as help you avoid bad habits and poor technique. As you begin perfecting your violin vibrato, you may notice that certain habits work their way into your playing, which should be t …
