The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

I use Suzuki and traditional method for my students... for Suzuki beginner they will play a song in four days....

Kelvin is a great teacher. He understands and teaches in a way that makes sense to me. If you’ve played the Banjo you know the teacher needs a lot of patience and he does. I graduated culinary school in 1996 and I have an AS in Culinary Arts and Restaurant management. My mother was a cook for Marriott and some of my fondest memories were spending time in that kitchen with her.

I loved culinary school, I love food and fresh ingredients. I grow my own veggies and herbs. I love creating great dishes and exploring the possibilities of simple ingredients.

I've taught community cooking demos, in home lessons and group demos. I've also worked as a private chef. Over my twenty years in this business; I've worked at a 4 Star Restaurant, as an Executive Chef at a major hotel chain as well as in a Molecular Gastronomy Kitchen. My skills are very diverse.

I used to eat take-out every night and generally felt overwhelmed whenever I walked into the kitchen.
I never knew that cooking could be fun until I met Chef Stevie. She's highly skilled, passionate, has a great sense of humor, and her classes are easy to follow. My cooking ability has definitely grown in our two semesters together.

I had a great time as Chef Stevie and the baking lessons. She had an initial conversation to understand my goals and expertise before creating a plan that was suitable for me. I had previous baking experiences but wanted to push myself beyond the basic comfort levels I was used. The lessons were tailored for me. The lessons became more complex as they progressed but Chef Stevie helped me throughout the entire process. Chef Stevie explained what were doing and to have fun in the process. We made some great baked goods including Buttermilk Biscuits, Whoopie Pies, Double Layer Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Filling, Lemon Meringue Pie, Apple Blossoms, Chocolate Eclairs, Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, and my new favorite Chocolate Molten Cake. My friends and family really enjoyed the results. They can't wait until I make more. I am glad that I took the lessons and Chef Stevie helped me become a better baker.

Bassist and composer Andrea Veneziani performs extensively within the improvised music scene, across a broad spectrum of genres. His instrumental tone, sensitivity and imagination, and melodic approach to a supposedly clumsy instrument brought him to perform and record with many established musicians. Based in New York City, his work as an instrumentalist and composer can be regularly heard at the top jazz clubs in the city and around the globe.

As a current faculty member of the New York Jazz Workshop, Andrea Veneziani is a dedicated educator. He has taught master classes at the National Institute of Music and the National University of Costa Rica, at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Olav Duun Videregående Skole in Namsos, Norway. He also served as an adjunct professor at New York University, where he graduated i

Andrea is absolutely fantastic! We love him!

We are a group of beginners, ages 25-65, and he has been extremely patient with all of us. He helps us improve our language skills in a fun, encouraging way. We look forward to continuing our lessons with him, and improve our Italian!

Ciao! I am a native Italian living in the USA for several years now.
My background is in foreign languages and I love traveling and meeting new people. I studied English and French in Italy before spending two years in England working and studying to perfectionate English where I also learned conversational Spanish.
Once in the USA I started working in the information technology field for a company that had a branch in Italy. I had to assist, translate and teach different materials in Italian and I also did some freelancing tutoring.
I have three children and I also speak and teach Italian to them only. It has been fun to see them being comfortable in speaking Italian when we go to Italy. I try to travel to Italy at least once a year.

My other passion is cooking and baking. I was lucky that I grow up with both my parents
as excellent cooks. We had a vegetable garden, fruit trees and livestocks so most of the ingredients were fresh. I started cooking a lot when I moved to USA as I missed the Italian dishes very much and I realized my only connection to my country was via the food.

I also have a love for fashion! Growing up in Italy means being surrounded by beauty everywhere.. the marvelous architecture and art, the language and music, the beautiful landscapes, the fruits of nature and the fashion! I believe because of this most Italians develop a sense of style. When I moved here I realized how much harder was to find unique clothes and accessories so I enjoy the challenge to put together outfits with what I have available.

After you have experienced a cooking lesson with Lorena you will feel like you have visited Venice Italy.
Her birth place. Lorena will share simple, healthy recipes you will use for a lifetime. I learned so much from her and I'm already a glorified chef. Her signature dishes with all the Venetian secrets can be revealed in her kitchen or yours. She's a very good listener and will adapt to what your family likes to eat. After 15 years working in high-tech I had enough of the constant stress, demanding work and long hours scrunched at my desk trying to solve other peoples issues. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do next so I started taking classes in anything that sounded interesting. I took my first cooking class at the local community college and loved the way it made me feel. It wasn't until I took my first baking class in this degree program that I knew I was home. After graduating with a hospitality management degree, I transferred to Johnson and Waled University in Rhode Island to earn a degree in Pastry Arts

My first job was with the Rhode Island Hospital. This hospital had received great recognition for the quality of food the kitchen produced. The director wanted to create a pastry program to expand the selections even more. Thus started
my career.

Coming back to the bay area, I wanted a more autonomous position, so I went into business for my self; first with a whole sale bakery which morphed into a catering business. I did this for 12 years, and loved it. All this time I was teaching community baking classes, adult education baking and pastry classes, and teaching part time at Mission College in Santa Clara.

I was then asked by Mission Valley ROP program to create a culinary/pastry program from scratch. It was a real challenge, but I found I really like challenges. From there I went to work for Whole Foods as a Pastry Chef.

After a few years of working for WFM I started teaching at the Art Institute in San Francisco. From there I went to Le Cordon Bleu, Also in San Francisco.

In the middle of all this I got married to a wonderful man.

The Cordon Bleu closed in September of 2016. Which brings me to the present. I am passionate about teaching baking and pastry, and hope to create a program which will allow students to understand baking, not to just follow recipes. My goal is to flame the creativity, and passion in my student, and fuel the desire to keep learning.

Had a great time learning the basics of pie and bread making with Chef Stephanie. She is very knowledgeable, patient and hands on. She helped create a curriculum that I was interested in and was well organized, so I was able to have everything I needed before the class to ensure it's success.
