I learned Spanish in school and by living in a foreign country as an adult, so I have learned the importance of grammar but also of fluency in expressions and idioms. I will teach you important grammatical aspects necessary to the learning of a language, in a comprehensible way, because as a non-native speaker I understand how difficult learning a language can be. But, I also understand the importance of understanding cultural and societal expressions for fluency, so I will be able to incorporate natural expressions and cultural competency into a lesson.

About Victoria

Hi!!! I am a Spanish teacher who studied Spanish in high school and university in the US; I also studied Spanish during a high school year abroad in Paraguay, and a university semester abroad in Santiago, Chile. I didn't love studying Spanish in high school, but once I got to Paraguay I learned how

I lived in Manaus, Brazil for 2 years as a volunteer proselytizing missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a result of talking to people all day, every day, I attained full fluency and command of the Portuguese language. I further polished my abilities in the language by taking an advanced Portuguese grammar class and Brazilian history class (both taught exclusively in Portuguese) during my Bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University. I know the language intimately, and can provide the highest quality of instruction to students of the language.

In the few months that I've had flute lessons with Drew, I've grown so much. As a beginner in flute, I was completely scared and overwhelmed with taking band for the first time. Knowing I needed lessons, I'm so glad that I was paired with Drew. On my first lesson, Drew asked me what my goals were and I told him that it was to just simply read the notes on the page. That's all I expected to learn from him, but he taught me so much more! Drew taught me about musical expression, tone and all the little details behind flute playing. His teachings challenged and motivated me. My peers and band teacher have noticed my improvement and progress. Thanks to Drew, I can now play with confidence and poise. -Emma

What I Learned From Peter.

- THE METRONOME IS SO IMPORTANT
- The voice guides the guitar if you’re more of a singer
- Repetition is key
- Practice songs that aren’t in your style to ease your way into guitar
- The power resides in strumming rhythmically
- Focus is more difficult that it seems when combining singing and guitar
- Guitar is an art in itself and itself you shouldn’t master guitar, you should be it’s friend.
- Open mics and video content are the key to more success as they expose you to criticism (good or bad)
Again, the guitar is your companion.

For any aspiring musician or any musician that needs guidance and improvement on the guitar, Peter is a great teacher.

Peter is very patient and great teaching my 9yr old son. We take father and son lessons together which has been amazing. Peter is naturally talented and plays many other instruments all in from his home studio. He is also extremely flexible and accommodating. Highly recommended!

First, I AM NOT LEARNING ENGLISH. I have tried to explain this to Take Lessons, but they schedule it as ESL. I am from New York, learning Creole to prepare for my boys from Haiti arriving this summer. Alain is amazing. He is encouraging, flexible in design and instruction for each session, makes sure you have correct pronunciation and understand why one construction is better than another or why another word is best due to the most common dialects in Haiti. This was especially important as I knew some other words that were not as common but just particular to the small region my previous tutor was from. I strongly recommend Alain for your needs as an adult and also any children or teens.

"I have had Ms Lin teaching my son for a year. It has been a big difference since my son switched from his after school program to Ms Lin. Before, he hated the tedious writing homework and school. Now he is interacting with Ms Lin with intense interest, enjoying the class. I can also tell my son's Chinese improving significantly.

Because Lin has done such a good job, I now have my daughter taking lesson from Lin as well."
