About Kathleen
I am a classically-trained opera singer. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (teaching), and have sung professionally in the U.S. and Europe. I have sung Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater and Concerts, as well as choral and cantorial singing. I have been a finalist and winner of vocal competitions in both the United States and Europe.
I have been teaching voice since 1980, and have worked with students of all ages, from 14 to 75. I have also directed and designed for musical theater and opera. Because I love singing, I want to bring that to my students as well, whatever kind of music they want to sing. I love children, but I do not work with girls or boys younger than 14.

In addition to music, I also teach English (ESL), Accent Reduction, German, U.S. & World History. I have my CBEST C
redential And ESL Certification. I do private tutoring and teach classes.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that learning how to breath is the key to good singing. After 3 months of study, my students will have learned how to breathe, which improves both their singing and speaking voices. Good breathing is the key to good singing and a healthy voice. With a healthy, well-trained voice, my students can be valuable members of any vocal ensemble, and enjoy their singing, For solo singing, good breathing is most important, whether singing opera, musical theater or pop music, because it gives a beautiful, full quality to the voice.
I always begin a lesson with warm-up exercises, to check breathing and vocal placement. Once the (vocal) engine is warmed-up, then we begin to sing. I try to get to know my students, so that, together, we can choose music that will enable them to reach their goals and is both fun and challenging for them to sing.

In addition to music, I also teach English (ESL), Accent Reduction, German, U.S. & World History. I have my CBEST Credential And ESL Certification. I do private tutoring and teach classes.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Separate studio with Piano
I have a MacBook Pro laptop computer + stereo speakers, to provide recorded accompaniment, when necessary.

*** Travel Equipment ***
If a student wishes to have on-site lessons, I require that a piano or keyboard be available for the lessons.
I usually travel with my MacBook Pro laptop computer & stereo speakers, to provide recorded accompaniment, when necessary.

*** Specialties ***
I am a trained opera/oratorio singer, but I teach Broadway, Pop, choral and classical singers.

I have had many international students who didn't speak English well. Music is an international language that helps me communicate with all of my students!

My daughter is really enjoying her voice lessons. Kathleen is a talented, caring teacher and knows how to make the process effective and fun for my daughter. My daughter loves being able to choose the songs she wants to learn, and this collaborative process keeps her quite interested and inspired.

Excellent Voice Teacher

Mrs. B is a wonderful and dedicated teacher who focuses diligently during class sessions. She thoroughly explains terms and technique and is friendly and sociable. Her extensive knowledge of languages comes extremely useful in Italian arias and other folk songs as to explain the meanings of words and to convey motion. Her classes are enjoyable and fun, while still being comprehensively academic.

Olga is very passionate, patient and persistent voice teacher who strives to bring the best in her students. My daughters 10 and 12 started taking lessons with Olga an year ago. We saw phenomenal difference in both of their singing abilities in just few classes. Moreover my 10 year old daughter passed with flying colors ‘The certificate of merit -level 3’ exam and got selected to sing at the MTAC convention. Thank you Olga for your persistence and hats off to your patience. If there is tiny bit of constructive feedback it would be to seek help on organization skills, but being a mom myself I totally can discount that for your caliber of music.

About Diane
Bonjour! Hello!

I have been teaching on and off for many years, usually on a one-to-one basis; I taught teenagers and adults. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and I am always ready to go above and beyond the basic lesson. I try to make learning a language fun and alive, through news, stories, and songs.

My method is to provide grammar (very important in French), vocabulary, conversation, reading, and translation in every lesson, and show how important each component is to the whole. I am overjoyed when my students start conversing without need for translation - even if there are errors!

My graduate educational background is in architecture, followed by an MBA in finance. My mother tongue is English; but I learned French at the age of nine when I attended my first French school. I have a French high school
diploma (Baccalauréat) and architecture degree.
I also attended high school in Germany, in a German high school, for several years. Learning languages was a necessity in my childhood, and I love learning, even if by now it is more difficult to become fluent in a new language. I think the fact of being a lifelong learner helps me better understand my students' needs.

As an avid reader since childhood, my spelling has always been excellent, and I worked as a proofreader. I look forward to helping my students reach their language goals.

I live in a remote part of Northern California where the redwoods meet the Pacific Ocean. I have 2 son's 16 and 4 who I've homeschooled off and on throughout their lives. My 16 year old graduated high school early and is now pursuing a degree at College of the Redwoods. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis on photography and digital art.

I am a teacher by trade and profession. I've always had a natural ability combined with patience and understand thats allows me the to excel my students further beyond what they've thought possible. I've been a teacher of Arts at many private schools in Northern California for the last 20 years. Recently over this last year I have discovered the joys of teaching ESL online for a few large companies. I am really looking forward to working more one on one with my students as I feel this can
be very beneficial to those looking to really excel further in the english language.

About Angelica
I am a dance teacher; performer and choreographer.
I started dancing when I was a kid and it always kept me energized; motivated; ready to go an extra mile no matter what I do. I started going to Ballroom school when I was 11 and I loved dancing solo, with a partner or in the group. Dancing, performing and competing helped me understand myself better and boosted my confidence, creativity and ambitions.

I graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Science but I never stopped dancing and about 4 years ago I started assisting the dance lessons, then got more and more training and finally started teaching Ballroom and Latin dances. It’s been amazing experience as I am able to share my passion, help people overcome their fears, shyness, help them express themselves and see how great there are and how dancing is important for our physic
al and mental health, how much it can improve the relationship/connection we have with ourselves and with other people.

I have been teaching all ages, singles and couples. You can choose to learn salsa, bachata, cha cha, swing, disco; rumba; samba; waltz; tango; foxtrot and I can also create a routine for your special wedding dance.

I would be very happy to hear what are your dancing goals and desires and to help you accomplish them!
