Instead of focusing on one skill set or one type of project, I am always trying to learn new skills! I have experience making home goods, amigurumi and clothing. If there is something you want to learn how to make, I can teach you the skills necessary to get from start to finish! I have been teaching crochet since 2020 and have taught students as young as 11!

I am a Craft Yarn Council Certified Crocheting Instructor and have been working professionally as a crocheting artist and teacher since 2009. I teach beginner through advanced students how to crochet items such as beautiful scarves, warm, colorful winter hats, and funky bracelets and headbands. If you can imagine it, you can create it! Lessons are focused on the student's specific needs and level. I am happy to help you with a crocheting pattern of your choice or can recommend crocheting patterns based on your level and what you desire to learn. I can also assist you in correcting mistakes, problem solving, reading patterns and pattern interpretation. I have a passion for crochet and teaching, and I have taught many students over the years and I am now still friends with many of them. I love to crochet, and most of the time I am crocheting items as gifts and I absolutely love the smile I see on the people's faces when they see the crocheted gift I made just for them, they feel so special! I want to spread the love and happiness for crochet by teaching!

I have a LOT of patience! All you need is the desire to learn to crochet. If you never have crocheted before, I will get you crocheting. If you want to learn, but believe you can’t learn because someone told you can’t learn to crochet, I will prove that you can crochet. If you have crocheted a long time ago, but forgot all of it or most of it, I will bring it back to you. If you already know the basics of crocheting, but don’t know how to get beyond the granny square, I can get you to the next level. If you know crocheting basics, but gave up because you make a lot of mistakes, I will show you tricks to avoid them and show you how to read your work so that mistakes are found sooner rather than later. If you know the basics, but want to learn a different technique such as color work, post stitches, or more, I can teach you. Do you have trouble reading patterns or charts, I can take the mystery out of them. Because of COVID-19, I mostly teach online for now. If you are vaccinated, I will consider teaching in person within 6 miles of where I live, (Massachusetts). I use Zoom for my teaching platform only. Please get familiar with Zoom on the device you will be using before coming to your lessons. Every devilce works and looks differently and I’d rather be teaching crochet than how to use your computer and the Zoom app. “Online” 30 minute sessions are permissible for only students that are comfortable with the basics: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet. If you are an absolute beginner, I recommend the first 1 or 2 lessons to be 2 hours long. After, that any time slot, (30, 60 or 90 minutes) will be fine. I look forward to meeting you!

I have been crocheting since I was 7 (over 30 years now) I am a lefty through and through. I learned from my right handed Mother and taught my right handed daughter. Regardless of which hand you use to write with learning how to crochet or advancing your skills in crochet can be a very theraputic and relaxing and productive way to spend your time. From learning how to start, reading instructions/patterns, to creating amazing things with yarn and a hook I can hellp. Teaching is a passion I recently discovered as a way to help others that has been a life long requirement for me. Crocheting is my mental health therapist. Adding in my passion to teach and basic need to help others, you will have fun and learn the magic of crocheting.

I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old and teaching all ages for nearly 15 years and would love to get your (yarn) ball rolling! I believe that crochet is easier to pick up than knitting, so this is a great place to start for kids or first time yarn crafters, and I encourage anyone to learn crochet as well if they want to pick up knitting someday.
