*****Before you sign up*****

There are three simple things you need to know about my tutoring program.
1. No matter what your reasons for learning a foreign language are, ultimately it's a part of your SELF DEVELOPMENT. Treat it as such.
2. I don't believe in "good or bad with languages" stereotype. I have taught for many years and learnt that everyone is "language talented" when they actually want to speak a new language. And if you are one of them I garantie that my method will work for you.
3. My program might appear quite different from the ones you have tried or seen before and goes beyond simple grammar and vocabulary presentation. Also prepare to be challenged at every step of the way and the further you will get the more fun and exciting it will be.

*****My Students*****

For over 6 years of professional experie
nce as Russian/French/ESL teacher, I have worked with all types of students with different learning styles and various goals: taught within U.S. public education institutions, provided private classes for children and adults, developed and implemented individualized syllabus for diplomats, high rank executives at multinational companies, employees of U.S. Embassy and Department of State.

Thanks to all my students, current and former, I am now confident that every individual, willing to learn one of the languages I teach, without a doubt, has everything it takes to succeed when the right approach is applied during the learning process and that is when your classes are comprehensible, interesting and engaging.

*****Program features*****

It is one on one program, thouroughtly personalized and organized according to your interests (general and professional), schedule, final goals, learning style and many other important elements to be taken into account.

Each session is 50 minutes.

Every session is prepared to reach a particular goal and structured in the way to have a maximum profit from "teacher - student" part of learning. Supporting materials are sent after each session: grammar notes, retention exercises, homework assignments, audio and video files as phonetic exercises and listening practice. The content of these materials is permanently tested and modified in order to achieve the best way to engage each individual student's language acquisition mechanisms.

Teacher's support 24/7.

Extra curricula content: idiomatic language components, cultural studies (traditions, history, literature, cinema and language related etymology), recommendations for independent language practice.

The way I see it, with each new student - there is a new process in my head that starts and constantly creates and improves techniques, ideas, method components, teaching style e.t.c for getting this particular student to do the best he or she can.

I have experience teaching ESL to high school, college, and adult students and look forward to help you to meet your goals! I can help you with grammar, reading/writing, listening/speaking, TOEFL/IELTS prep, academic writing, accent reduction, or English for the work place. As a PhD student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching, I bring my expertise to the lessons to make learning hands on and interactive for all ages, both in person and online.

About Natalie
Hello, bonjour, hola! I'm Natalie and I've been tutoring for eight years and formally teaching for five years. I've loved helping students meet their goals in French, English, and Spanish, and I look forward to helping you.

I hold a B.A. in French and Chinese and an M.A. in French Linguistics, both from University of Florida. Currently, I am a second year PhD student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. As such, I am truly centered on helping you achieve your language goals, whether that means traveling abroad, passing a language test, or communicating in your work or school environment. My flexibility and enthusiasm coupled with individualized lesson plans will help increase your confidence in communicating in other language(s).

I'm dedicated to help you becoming bilingual or proficient for travel needs in another language
. Bilingualism not only makes you smarter, as you have to learn to switch in between languages and inhibit one while using the other, it also makes you less likely to get Alzheimer's or dementia (New York Times, 2012). So what are you waiting for? Let's get you on your language learning journey today! Bon voyage! Buen viaje!

My most popular available services on Take Lessons include (but are not limited to):

**French**
Tutoring for junior high, high school, and college students; private lessons (French for travel, French for business, French grammar and vocabulary, and/or French for fluency)

**English Accent Reduction**
Focus on pronunciation of sounds in English, intonation, stress, and common English reductions. Achieve your goals by practicing English in business and/or academic contexts (interviewing for a job, making small talk, giving presentations at work, etc). You'll learn common idioms as well. After 10-15 classes, all of my Accent Reduction students see a strong improvement in their accent and feel confident in their English interactions (even on the phone!).

**Spanish**
Tutoring for junior high, high school, and college students; private lessons (Spanish for travel, Spanish grammar and vocabulary, and/or Spanish for fluency)

Each session will have a check-in assessing what your goals are for the lesson that day. We will review spoken english, written, and reading based on your current level.

About Shelley
I'm a professional singer/teacher residing in New York City with degrees from Indiana State University, and New York University with a specialization in Classical Art Song, Musical Theatre Repertoire, and Vocal Pedagogy.

Every lesson is about YOU. So each week we will take a look at your goals for the lesson, whether you are preparing for college auditions, school talents shows, a desire to work with music theory, or piano skills, this is your opportunity to explore. Everything is possible.

As a professional singer myself, I am constantly auditioning on broadway, off-broadway, and for smaller local and regional theater opportunities. I believe that as a teacher I have to continue to be in the field and learning as the industry continues to change. I have to be aware of the opportunities in this business. I have been hired by pr
ofessional opera and musical theatre companies, in additional to large choral works as a soloist, and have a private studio in Washington Heights.

Prior to NYC I taught middle school choir for 200+ students, of which I received teacher of the year in 2012. I also still hold a valid teaching license in the state of Indiana and currently applying toward my NYS teaching certification.

Within my voice studio I teach in person and online lessons. While online lessons can be beneficial for students wishing to study with me that are not in the immediate vicinity, I recommend in person lessons

I look forward to hearing your beautiful voice and helping you to embrace music. Feel free to check out my website for any further information!

Shelley is by far the best voice teacher I have ever had. Within the short duration of time that I have worked with her, I have noticed that my voice has significantly changed (it feels and sounds better) after using her techniques. She knows what she’s talking about and offers substantial and specific criticism. She individualizes every student, in that she chooses repertoire that benefits a particular voice instead of assuming that every student has the same voice and strengths/weaknesses. This is a very important skill for a voice teacher to have. Shelley is also very good at time management within a lesson. Most importantly, she makes the experience fun! I would highly recommend Shelley to anyone who is looking for a voice teacher! Thank you Shelley!

Shelley is amazing! All my old teachers always told me to breathe to release the tension in my voice, but Shelley taught me vocal warmups to ease the strain. I now can sing better and connect to lyrics.

I teach English as a second language. With me you will learn how to sound like a native speakers and pick up great conversational skills and transitions.
One thing I love about teaching is bringing the arts into the process of learning. We may sing in the language and even paint to help learn. I've taught younger than Kindergarten all the way to adults, so feel comfortable that you'll grow in advanced conversational skills, as well as, beginner vocabulary. Let me highlight that I'm passionate about "phonetics," which is the study and classification of speech sounds. In other words, you are going to learn how to sound like a native speaker when you take my class.

About Loren
I'm an artist, musician, and language aficionada. I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia, graduating with honors as a Magna Cum Laude in Spanish and French Linguistics. I am fluent in both languages. One thing I love about teaching is bringing the arts into the process of learning. We may sing in the language and even paint to help learn. I've taught younger than Kindergarten all the way to adults, so feel comfortable that you'll grow in your conversational skills, as well as, beginner vocabulary. Let me highlight that I'm passionate about "phonetics," which is the study and classification of speech sounds. In other words, you are going to learn how to sound like a native speaker when you take my class.

Why do I like to bring art and music into the learning journey? Let me tell you one of the biggest secrets I've dis
covered. Art and music can allow you to make a joyful memory, which takes the fleeting moment into the longterm part of your brain, causing you to remember more and put it into what you call "muscle memory" all because you're happy!

Speaking of the arts, I play guitar, ukulele, charango, piano, and I sing! I've been a musician since 2000, and I've successfully turned a hobby into something my husband and I have been doing full time for several years. For beginners, something that works best is taking a song that you LOVE and turning it into your anthem on the instrument of your choice. So pick your song and message me!

Last but not least, I'm a painter. Painting is my favorite part of any day. About my childhood, I can candidly say I had the best stepmom. She would let me take her enormous canvases, oil paints, and brushes and just let me at it. Of course at first they were all of my hand prints and rainbows, but she got me curious, and eventually we started going to museums. I've seen Vangogh, Monet, Divinci, Picasso, and many more as they toured through our city. I began to study their techniques and grow my gift. My "Mama Sue" gifted me a hunger for creativity and excellence, and I can't thank her enough. Painting with me, you will grow in your technique, skill, and confidence, and pick up a little artist history along the way.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you accomplish your dreams!

Necesita ayuda aprendiendo ingles? Nose preocupe, yo le ayudare aprender ingles. Soy MUY paciente. Y me encanta enseñar.

About Meleni
I understand what how hard it is to learn a new language. That's why I have decided to teach others what I already know. I have experienced with some tutors that aren't easy to learn from. Why? Well it's because the teachers aren't patient and get frustrated with the students. That won't ever be my case. I would teach A student until they are sure on their that they can go out to the world and if lost or any situation, they will be able to speak on their and get to where they need to.

I wasn't taught any of these languages I'm willing to teach. But rather, I was born I them. My family is bilingual. So really I new these to language, (Spanish,English), my whole life. Many people I have taught have told me that I really am patient and should look forwards teaching many other people.

With English, nothing is off limits. To be fluent in a language, you must be able to talk about anything. This includes national news, personal interests, celebrations, celebrities, and any other topic that interests you. Be prepared to learn proper English; however, I also know that conversation is a key to English, so while I teach the proper and correct way to speak, I also allow and explain slang terms and common verbiage. The time you put into your lessons with me will effect how much you learn. I hope to make it fun and interesting for you, but that requires your effort in the conversation. That being said, let's get together and have some fun!

About JodiLynn
Me professionally? I have taught children in China, and though I was not physically in their classroom, the experience was so enriching. I learned as much from them (if not more) than they did from me. We worked on everything from basic phonics to reading pieces of literature and talking about themes and ideals. I spent time learning about their culture and their language in order to truly teach them in a holistic and organic way. I believe it created a wonderful connection and teaching relationship. It is beautiful.

I'm a lover of coffee, dark chocolate, jazz music and thunderstorms. I read and disappear into the biggest and most detailed books I can. It makes my soul happy. I live with humility, find dignity in darkness, celebrating small victories, and showing unconditional love to all who surround me. I celebrate the joyful moments,
however big or small. I love my windows down, my music up, and lots of time with no place to go, an open road in front of me. I miss the ocean, and I visit it whenever I can. My husband, a blanket, and a hoodie are some of my favorite places to be cuddles- add a cup of chai, a thick book, an aromatherapy candle, or some popcorn, and that is heaven on earth. I love old movies, film photography, the spontaneity of my munchkins as they grow up, and every moment in between.

I have extended experience in teaching ESL/ESOL high school and college level especially. Students gravitate towards my style bc I put them at ease and focus on the assignment at hand with utmost respect for individual needs and style also taking into account personality. I break things down and explain process and structure of all levels of reading/writing/grammar. I have experience in teaching/tutoring/training ESL/ESOL and great multicultural and interpersonal communications skills. I can relate to and appreciate different cultures and I speak 3 languages. Let's get started.

About Delia
Hello, my name is Delia. I was born in Europe and I speak 3 languages. I have a BA Cum Laude in Literary Studies from Univesity of Texas at Dallas and completed some credit hours toward a Master's Degree in Education (with emphasis in teaching writing to college students) at Texas A&M University.

Teaching is in my blood. My father was a respected university professor. Since I was a wee girl, my ambitions in life were lofty. I wanted to be either a physician (pediatrician or cardiologist) or a teacher. It seems that teaching won because of my father's infuence and also because I had great teachers whom I admired and wanted to emulate. I will never forget my first ESL teacher who made an indelible impression on me as a young teenager freshly landed on American soil.

I worked as a writing tutor in the Learning Assistance Center at a commun
ity College in Texas. I taught college level writing courses including developmental and ESOL Writing/Grammar as well as Accuplacer Test PREP.

I was a writing tutor/proofreader/editor for all sorts of essays from English classes to Life Sciences and Philosophy and Psychology and Drama. Assessed and edited many written pieces such as college entrance essays, acceptance letters, scholarship request essays, dissertations, recommendations, proposals, book reviews, etc.

I received the Jean Sharon Griffith Student Development Leadership Award.

I love people and am passionate about the English language and teaching it to everyone who wants to learn it and become proficient in reading, writing and speech. Let's connect and get started!
