I have tutored all sections of both the ACT and SAT as well as many other subjects for over eight years and have logged over 4,000 tutoring hours as well as over 650 five star ratings through other tutoring services. 

I tutor because I love the challenge of helping people understand new ideas and enjoy making it fun for them. I also like the flexibility that it gives me to pursue my other interests including filmmaking and surfing.

I teach two classes every week that focus on the math and English sections of the SAT.

I have helped dozens of students over the last eight years improve their SAT scores dramatically. There are clear types of questions the math section of the SAT repeatedly asks. The first step to mastering the test is to know how to do each type, the next and most often neglected step is to know how to do each type with ease and the last step is to be able to quickly recognize each type and apply the techniques necessary for solving them. My method for achieving this is to explain the concepts multiple ways to find the one that makes most sense to the student. Then I have students repeatedly do each type until they become commonplace. Last, I have them do as many practice tests as possible so they learn to apply the concepts utilizing time management. By repeating each question type rather than doing one and moving one I ensure that the concept sticks in the student's mind. By repeatedly taking practice tests students earn the confidence they need on testing day to perform their best.

It was a very nice session for my son. We are highly satisfied and my son wants to take more classes with him before SAT exam.

Knowledgable and EXTREMELY patient
Christopher came here to teach me pivot tables which I needed to know for work. Relaxed but perceptive and capable

Having read Christopher's bio, I sensed that there was something special about him, and that he was the right one for our son who has some learning challenges, particularly in the area of Math. I believe it is very important a tutor connects not only on an academic level but also where there can be some light hearted conversation. Christopher arrived punctually for our first meeting and his assessment of our son. In advance of that meeting I had explained to Christopher what the challenges are and what our collective objectives are. As soon as I saw him, he appeared to relaxed but confident. After an initial introduction, I stepped away to let Christopher and our son become acquainted and he immediately set about establishing some common ground which happened to be a particular sport. No more than Christopher, our son is also very perceptive and despite the fact that he initially resisted the idea of any tutor, his words after this first meeting were "I can work with him"! Its obviously early days yet, but so far so good!
