"I have taken lessons with Xiaole for over 5 years now. She helps me to plan long term goals and to strive to play the best I can in performances and compe

"I am a high school student and Evan Foltz has been my trumpet instructor for over 3 years now. He is a stand-out person who is completely dedicated to tea
ching and someone I am glad I can call a friend. Evan is an excellent teacher and is by far an expert on the trumpet. He has definitely opened my eyes to techniques I would not have learned otherwise. One thing that really stuck out to me is how flexible he is. If I have difficulty grasping one concept, he always has another way of presenting it and won't stop until I am able to successfully complete the task. He has always had high expectations for me and won't let me accept anything less than my best. He has always been more than willing to accommodate to my needs and is always able to figure out exactly what will help the best."

I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music.
It is to no one's surprise that I completed my first demo at the age of 13 and was performing for Queens Colleges audiences at 14. I went on the rank high in the NYSSMA series in both piano and voice. I also went on to study music in college and began touring with gospe
l troupes nationally. Since then I has done many workshops, Master Classes, tour dates, theatre shows etc. Too many to date. I am a sought after teacher for voice, piano and broadway singing. I train public speakers, actors and teachers as well.
Get your slot NOW! I will take your musicianship and skill to the next level! But you have to be ready!

DanielleI is a professional trained singer that offers meaningful and productive vocal nstruction to my daughter. She is has a lot of knowledge and we look forward to continue working with her.
I began studying piano and music theory when I was 5. My father was an accomplished musician (classical and folklore) who played great role in my accomplishment as a pianist and teacher
While studying in Music College, I took part in various festivals and competitions. I performed several piano concertos with symphonic orchestra. Some of them are: Mozart Piano Concerto No 20 in D minor, Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No 2 in G minor, Schumann Piano Concerto in A minor Op 54 pt. Parallel with my studies in College I gave piano lessons in classical music. I accomplished my studies with honors.
I traveled and taught music in different countries: United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Europe which helped me gain great experience how to teach students with different background
I got my MA from the Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). My studies were focused on education administration and management. This helped me manage class in most efficient and effective way , plan lessons and develop curricula.
I would eagerly take students from all age groups and backgrounds and involve them in the most exciting process of self accomplishment.
*** Lesson Details *** I enjoy teaching all ages 5 and up with different abilities, needs and requirements and develop plans to fit each individual. I have very friendly atmosphere in the class. I design certain games for children to enable them to better understand music language, theory and develop practical skills. I spend much time on ear training, rhythm development, music structure, music theory and performance.
In a 3 month period students will be able to understand different scales, basics of music theory and performance and will be able to perform classical pieces e.g. Bachâs inventions, Mozartâs and Beethovenâs little sonatas for piano etc
*** Studio Equipment *** piano is a digital yamaha...88 keys, weighted one room...space for parent to sit and listen
*** Specialties *** classical music, popular music

Nino is a fabulous teacher. Her ability to teach and help my daughter understand classical music as well as appreciate it is amazing. Nino has a wonderful gift that she shares with her students. My daughter had two other piano teachers when she was younger but was able to learn with Nino. Nino has a lot of patience and stands behind her work. We are so thankful to Nino. My daughter loves playing piano so much that she is even thinking about majoring in it. Thank you Nino for being such a wonderful teacher!

I have been taking lessons with Niño for about 6 months.
Not only has it been a great learning experience but also a very enjoyable one. Each lesson is focused to my needs, technical and otherwise and I come away with a good feeling of accomplishment.
My piano playing is progressing and no doubt will continue to progress with Niño as my teacher. She is highly recommended.

Scott is a an internationally touring guitarist and songwriter based in New York. In addition to his work as an in demand sideman for various artists and bands around the country, Scott is also an accomplished bandleader and composer with four acclaimed release
s under his belt over the last ten years.
As a guitarist, Scott brings a modern, technical approach to traditional american styles - jazz, bluegrass, country blues, western swing and chick'n pick'n country guitar - but as a songwriter he gravitates toward straightforward rock, blues and folk.
Scott's guitar playing and songwriting has landed him features from American Songwriter, CMT, and more. He holds a BFA in Studio/Composition, with a minor in Jazz Performance, from SUNY Purchase in Purchase, NY.
*** Lesson Details *** When studying with Scott, students can expect a comfortable and fun atmosphere that promotes experimentation and positive reinforcement. Employing a curriculum that is equal parts formal technique and informal playing of the students favorite music, Scott makes every lesson engaging and exciting for his students.
After 3 to 6 months studying with Scott, beginners should expect to be able to play many of their favorite songs, have a firm grasp on basic scales, chords, theory and sight reading, and can even begin writing their own songs and improvising solos!
If you're already an intermediate/advanced player, Scott will push you to find your unique voice on the guitar, and tap into advanced techniques and approaches that will help you fully realize all that the guitar has to offer.
Lessons are tailored to each individual student's particular interests and abilities. Wherever you want to take your guitar playing, Scott will get you there and beyond!
*** Travel Equipment *** I will bring an acoustic guitar with me. My student must only have a guitar of their own of any kind. If it's electric, an amp is preferable, but not necessary.
*** Specialties *** Music, Guitar, Bass, Theory, Song Writing, Composition, Improvisation, Sight Reading, Advanced Harmonic and Rhythmic Concepts, Group Playing I am schooled in Jazz, but have a passion for all styles, including rock, blues, country, funk, folk, punk, and world music.

Scott is not only an amazing guitarist, but he is a superb teacher. Kind, supportive, and has an uncanny ability to break-down difficult pickings and strums into understandable and easy to follow directions. Most importantly, very patient. I was self-taught in the 70s when everyone picked up a guitar, stopped as an adult and am now re-starting it again after 30 years-and enjoying every moment. Scott is able to teach any type of music or song and intuitively understands and teaches the guitar style that the student would like to learn. Any student who studies with Scott should consider themselves fortunate. Not only does he know his stuff, he is passionate about music and passing on this musical knowledge to his students.

Worlds greatest guitarist gives lessons (and he's a good guy too)
I have been taking lessons with Scott for almost 10 years. Lessons have varied from ear training to guitar to songwriting. He is one of the most knowledgable and gifted musicians/ teachers I have ever known.
Lesson structures have been both formal and informal (at my request). I take a lot of information and knowledge home from each one and plenty to practice. Whether you want to learn a song or you want to learn theory, he can explain anything clearly and comfortably meeting you on your skill level.
I was really uncomfortable with where I was musically when I first started taking lessons. Almost immediately after starting with Scott I was confident in talking with other musicians in their language.
Do yourself and anyone who hears you make music a favor, and get a lesson with Scott!
I'm a pro saxophonist in NYC, currently performing both in the NYC area and internationally.
In the last 5 years, I have been performing with various bands in the area, spanning rock, funk, soul, Latin, and especially jazz. Performing has taken me to France, Switzerland, Italy, China, and most recently aboard luxury cruise ships.
I have been teaching privately and through a private music school for the past 10 years.
*** Lesson Details *** I offer three distinct types of lessons.
1) For 7-12 grade music students, I offer lessons geared towards preparing you for the NYSSMA compet
ition. We work on the basic requirements for participation, can work together to narrow down the options and select the right piece for you to perform, and improve your musicality as a whole. I have sent many students to NYSSMA, all with positive results. 2) My more expansive lessons are for beginner musicians and up. We work as basically as scales, modes, and fingerings, as well as a little bit of jazz history. As you progress, we dig deeper into jazz theory, focusing on the standards and improvisational theory. Like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it, and as long as you are willing to work towards becoming a better player, you will. 3) For NON-SAXOPHONE students with an interest in jazz improvisational techniques, I offer jazz improvisation lessons. This requires an intermediate level of proficiency on your instrument. We cover standards, different techniques to apply over different patterns of chord changes, and even basic elements of composition.
I like to keep the atmosphere light and positive during lessons, so we can have a good time and still be learning. I love to work on appropriate music that the student suggests, or has an interest in. Pending the level of the student, we may even arrange for special appearances at some of my performances. The more the merrier.

My son Nicholas, 10 yrs old, has been taking saxophone lessons with Imraan for about a month. Searching for a young motivated teacher who is up to date with todays music is very difficult. My fear was for Nicholas to get discouraged in his saxophone playing and music with a non motivated instructor.
Imraan has been the perfect match for Nick. He is not only an excellent saxophone player but a great instructor. He motivates my son with his saxophone playing, has patients with his teachings and with kids, is up to date with todays music and most important, my son cant wait for his next lesson.
Imraan, Im glad we met you and look forward to hearing my son play in concert with you someday.

Love Working With Him!
I study jazz saxophone with Imraan once a week. I originally found him through a recommendation from a friend, and was using him to prepare me for the All State NYSSMA auditions in my senior year of high school. The lessons were so helpful that I continued through college... Since then I've improved so much. He understands how to break down complicated information and present it to you in a way that you'll be able to understand and process. He is active in the music community, so you can drop in on a show and see him and one of his bands in action... Worth a visit.
Also, he always has a great selection of music to choose from for you to learn, and a great set of helpful tips and tools that work great for me! Highly recommend!!!!
My promise to you is to get playing and enjoying making music. I believe the world needs more music and I committed and enthusiastic about making that happen for you. So if you feel the same way, let's rock as they say! :)

My 7 year old son has dream of being a rock star so I started him with an electric guitar. I spent a long time looking for the right teacher and am glad we found Greg - he is comfortable with both acoustic and electric guitars as well as being a performer himself. Another thing that I am happy about is that Greg is teaching my son how to read music properly, not just how to get by like too many guitarists out there. I expect that once my 7 year old knows how to read and gets past the beginner phase, Greg will also teach him theory. This is the old school training that too many teachers and students skip today. Good for you Greg!

Our son has been taking guitar lessons for about 3 months. We chose Greg because of his expertise, knowledge and ability to teach. Learning to read music might not always be easy but Greg was able to convey to our son the importance of this skill. Greg has taught my son the beauty of playing the guitar that now is very confident and happy to play . Greg is always reliable, extremely flexible and dependable. am happy to see my son learning new skills. also very happy that Greg is teaching him everything needs to know about playing the guitar.
I would highly recommend Greg as an instructor. we are extremely impressed by his abilities and professionalism.
