A wonderful experience

I took vocal lessons from David. I had taken some singing lessons when I was younger, but needed to brush up. I sing in a band, and David helped my song performance. I will be taking more lessons in the future.

Justin B.

Folsom, CA

About Justin

My name is Justin B. and I've been a professional drummer and instructor the last 15 years. I have toured extensively throughout the United States, as well as playing in the UK. I have been a part of many recordings and sessions during that time and have the knowledge to teach about what those experiences are like.

Currently, I am a member of the Street Drum Corps based out of Los Angeles. We have done TV shows including Cartoon Network's Hall Of Game Awards, as well as the opening segment of Kevin Nealon's special comedy show "Whelmed, But Not Overly." which aired on Showtime.

I am a
drummer that has been playing in some of the top nightclubs throughout California, Las Vegas, Arizona, and Chicago. I have been drumming alongside some very notable DJ's and am providing some of the newest entertainment in that industry.

I am currently endorsed with Pro-Mark drum sticks, Evans Drumheads, Soultone Cymbals, and play Shine Custom Drums.

*** Lesson Details ***
The focus on lessons are to identify the goals of the student, and tackle those immediately. Not interested in learning on a snare drum first? No problem. I prefer to have students playing behind a drum set from day one. I reinforce lessons through teaching true drum notation, making it easier for students to accomplish their goals in a timely matter. I like to keep things laid back and will not be a "task master" type of teacher. I want to make lessons as fun and comfortable as possible and strive to make that happen.

I use a number of instructional books from some of the best publishers of music instruction including The Drummer's Collective Series, as well as Berklee School Of Music Publishing. There are a number of DVD's as resources too! These instructional books cover a wide variety of topics including: Rock Drumming, Funk/Linear Drumming, Jazz Drumming, Latin/Afro-Cuban Drumming, Double Bass Drumming, and Rudimental Drumming.

It is my goal to have the student playing at least two different styles of drumming within the first 3 months, and being at an intermediate level within the first six months. The student will have an understanding of music notation and being able to interpret different rhythms. Most students like to learn songs and within the first six months, the student should have at least two songs memorized.

*** Travel Equipment ***
The student will need to have a drum set.

*** Specialties ***
I like to teach utilizing drum method books and reinforcing lessons with actual drum notation. I feel this is the basis of a solid drum education and helps to make learning songs and more enjoyment from drumming happen faster. I teach Rock, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Hip-Hop/R&B, Top 40, and Techno/EDM. I also have the ability to teach concert band drummers up to the High School level.

Benji C.

Fair Oaks, CA

About Benji

Hi there, my name is Benji and I can't wait to meet you! I started playing the violin at age 4 when my mom decided to have me take fiddle lessons at our local music shop. I feel in love with the violin and began to play non-stop. I have been trained through classical and fiddle/bluegrass music and enjoy both styles of music. Since I was 6, I have been participating in state fiddle competitions while being trained with the Suzuki Violin Method.

I've been teaching some beginning students for 2 years now, but I would like to have many more students, which is why I am now on this website. I li
ke to teach what my students want to learn. So if you are more interested in classical or texas style music, we can focus on those, while still developing strong technique. I look forward to teaching you and helping you reach your goals!
