I have been teaching children and adults for the past 15 years. I have worked in public schools as a band instructor, choir director, orchestra director and general music teacher. My private
horn students have enjoyed playing from a wide variety of musical
styles from classical to modern.

About Steve

Steve began his musical journey on the piano as a child, later moving on to explore clarinet and trumpet in band before discovering the French horn in high school. Though he earned his bachelor of music in horn performance at CSU, Sacramento, he never gave up the piano, teaching students and accomp

Piccolo is an instrument all flutists will learn to play at some point in their fluting studies. I can teach you how to play this fun and challenging instrument

About Sue

Learning the flute is a great way to explore your creativity. Flute is the one wind instrument with amazing versatility and expression. It is as comfortable in an orchestra as a jazz band. Do you or a child you know want to learn how to play flute, recorder, baroque flute, or even piccolo? I l

I can't say enough great things about Sue! Under her guidance, it's been a pleasure getting back into playing my flute after a hiatus of over 25 years. Her knowledge of the instrument and expert instruction (as well as her infinite patience!) continue to provide me with the motivation I've needed to overcome some of the challenges I've faced after being away from my instrument for so long. Her teaching style is relaxed and flexible but firm; she knows just when I need to be challenged and just when to back away a bit. She's been a great fit for me, and I encourage other flute players of all levels to giver her a try!

Dr. Sue Sheya is truly an exceptional instructor. As a student who studied a little bit of music in Europe, it was difficult for me to adjust to the American solfege system (C, D, E scale) as I was used to the European solfege (Do, Re, Mi). However, Dr. Sheya was very flexible and adjusted all her lesson materials so that I could truly succeed in learning. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a supportive, friendly, and enthusiastic teacher that can truly guide them in learning how to play the flute!

I have been playing drums for more than 10 years and have been teaching for more than 3. Throughout that time, I have played across the country in New York City and even in Japan. I am currently a Jazz Studies Major at Sacramento State University. My goal is to make every student a well-rounded drummer who knows whats going on when they are in any type of musical situation. My favorite style to play is jazz, but I am well-rounded in all other styles such as rock, Latin, blues, funk, and country.

In my lessons, I base the material on the student depending on how advanced they are. If the student is just starting out, I will teach them the basics such as holding the drumsticks properly, basic rudiments, reading rhythms, learning about the hardware, and so on.

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask :D

About Gabriel

I started playing drums when I was in second grade and formed a band with my 2 older brothers who played bass and guitar. It was something to do when we younger but when I got into high school, I took playing drums a lot more seriously. I was in a very competitive marching band playing bass drum an

Sylvia is very good at taking the time to explain the reasons behind the why of doing certain things. Being an adult with no musical background what so ever she has really taken the time to teach me some basic fundamentals that are helping me build the solid foundation that I so very much want and need. Beyond the time we spend with one-on-one instructions she challenges me with exercises to practice on between our meetings. I explained to Sylvia what I was looking for and she has centered the training and instructions around that to ensure that my goals are being met. She is a pleasure to work with and learn from.

"Christopher is great! He's the first guitar teacher I've had who is able to put their passion for music into teaching, and it really shows. He's extremely knowledgable and gets his point across very well. His teaching method is very easy to understand and it actually makes sense. On top of that, he's also just a really cool dude. Definitely recommend him!"

"Fantastic instructor. I've taken other lessons and when you're learning from Matt you can tell that you're learning from a musician. He's unbelievably talented and is able to transfer that ability to his instruction. You learn things on the guitar that only a musician can teach you...things you wouldn't learn anywhere else."

"Julie is an excellent teacher and professional. Her knowledge base is incredible; she absolutely is a master. She knows exactly how to reach my 5-year-old and my 11-year-old, and teach them where they are. She stretches them, and it is amazing to see how far they've come in just a short while. Julie teaches them piano in a multitude of ways: they listen, they play, they move, they sing, they read, they study, they write. It's so much more than just sitting at the piano and playing notes. My children are learning to MAKE MUSIC and it is a beautiful thing. I'm very happy we found Julie Lopez."

How to Become a Piano Technician | Skills and Demands

If you have a natural curiosity for how things work, then you've probably spent more than a few moments' thought on not just the general maintenance of your piano, but also piano tuning. Unlike a string instrument, where a few pegs allow you to tune your instrument, piano tuning requires a professional. What Does a Piano Technician Do? A piano technician doesn't just tune your piano; he or she will carry out repairs and maintenance to allow you to get the best out of your instrument, and eve …
