I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.
I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.
As much as I enjoyed playing piano, I discovered that I also love singing, so I started to take singing lessons and majored in vocal performance during my college days.
Since I have graduated, I have been performing opera professionally. My career highlights include roles as Cio-cio san(Madame Butterfly) with Snob Opera, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Fairy(Falstaff) with Sir B
ryn Terfel with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Liverpool, England, Dorinda(Orlando) with Cantanti Project, Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Opera Manhattan Studio, Frasquita (Carmen) with One World Symphony, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola) with Capitol Heights Opera, Alice (Le comte Ory) with West Side Opera Society, Adele (Die Fledermaus), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Myrrhine (Lysistrata) with Opera Avanti, Gilda (Rigoletto) with Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice, and The First Spirit (Die Zauberflöte) with the Opera Company of Brooklyn.
My international credits include performances under the direction of Conductor Laurent Pillot at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Liverpool, England;the Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice, France; the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Chianti,Italy; the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel where I was selected to sing for the Japanese Ambassador.
I made appearances as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Town Hall, and MOMA museum in New York City and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. As a versatile singer, I was presented as an aspiring opera singer on the website of Maybelline New York. Her voice was featured in short films for the Japanese technology company NEC. I appeared as a soprano soloist for the opera, Jazz and theater collaboration of "TAKE ABITE" by David Antonio Cruz. I also sings Broadway songs and continues her musical theater studies. She is an active recitalist and also performs Oratorio works.
I was also a finalist at the Opera Idol Competition at Lincoln Center in New York City, The Hariclea Darclée Voice Competition in Romania and the Mario Lanza and Elaine Malbin Vocal Competition in New York City. Ms. Uchida was selected as a vocal scholarship recipient at Savannah music festival.
Her upcoming engagements in 2019 include performing concerts with Philharmonie Teplice, Neubrandenburg, Germany, the title role of Lucia di Lammermoore and a lieder recital with Opera After Hours, New York. Ms. Uchida gave a recital hosted by Russian Cultural Center in Kiev 2019. Asuka is invited to give a recital at Festival dell’arte in Wojanow, Poland in August 2019.
Besides being an opera singer, I have been teaching piano and voice for 11 years. I would like to share my skills and experience with you. Since I perform often, I can coach you how to perform on stage in addition to building solid technique and languages. Also, I have taught various kinds of music, such as Rock, Broadway musicals, Pop music, so we can work on all kind of music.
I look forward to teaching you soon!
*** Lesson Details *** My students can expect to improve their skills and start to enjoy music more as we work together. I believe that learning music is fun and enjoyable. However you also need to be serious and focused. I can demonstrate various and specific techniques, phrasing, and interpretation and will always coach on how to develop your skills. However, I feel it is important for students to think critically on their own and take the first try at solving a problem themselves. I cannot emphasize enough that primarily it is you who find the ways to improve. Leaning music is a collaboration between teachers and students. I hope that through my lessons, students will become more self-sufficient and confident as musicians. Let me help you become a better musician.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano (Clavinova), music stand, and desk.

Asuka, was wonderful. I've been looking forward to learning Japanese for a long time. She is very detailed and patient. Excellent teacher!

On behalf of my son who is 15. Before finding Asuka, Lukas had taken voice lessons from several very good teachers (between breaks we would experiment with teachers).
Now with Asuka he feels most comfortable and feels he learns more per lesson with Asuka. More progress with all aspects of voice. She helps prepare for auditions with Broadway vocals and advance on the more serious and challenging Opera selections.
So the actual lessons are great and Asuka is also a charm; engaging and personable. As the parent I very much like she remains a professional singer as her career.
So we are staying with Asuka through the breaks and may even extend into piano lessons as well.
I would recommend Asuka without hesitation.

I am a native Russian tutor. Now I live in NYC and teach Russian as a foreign language in CUNY.
I teach the Russian language from the very beginning - elementary, basic level - to higher levels. The most important goal of my classes is that you enjoy our meetings by keeping interest and feeling the progress. Individual approach to each student is the key point to success. We study the vocabulary, grammar, and situations related to the student's current activities. As a result all my students successfully use the learned skills for their professional or
private life. During my lessons, I'm trying to reach the best balance between speaking, listening, grammar, conversation and other aspects of the language. I can help you understand the system of the Russian language, so that you were not limited by phrases that you learn during the lesson, but could make your own sentences, paragraphs, express your thoughts in different ways. We will pay enough attention to grammar, pronunciation, reading and speaking. I will explain to you the way Russians talk in their everyday life because some Russian foundations and manners differ from American ones. As your personal instructor, I'm going to give you honest feedback on your strengths and weaknesses and design a curriculum that fits your needs. I'll be happy to help you learn the Russian language. Feel free to contact me and ask any questions. Thank you for your interest - I look forward to seeing you in my classes!
Policy: All changes in the schedule (except emergencies) should be made 24 hours before the lesson, otherwise the lesson will be marked as missed.
Aksana made me feel at ease - gently guiding me through the material and kindly offering corrections when needed, helping you to feel comfortable taking risks which is necessary when learning something new. The worksheets Askana provided are helpful and she told me about a number of other good resources to use for practice between lessons. Seems like we are off to a good start!

Aksana is a terrific instructor! After only a few lessons, I can already see a huge improvement in my speaking and listening comprehension skills. She can quickly gauge the level of each student and subsequently tailor her lessons to the student's level and goals. I believe that Aksana is one of the best Russian instructors that I have had since studying Russian in college over 30 years ago and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn Russian for the first time or to improve their skills if they have studied Russian previously.

Before I came to New York, I taught English at a local training center in Shanghai,China.
I started teaching Mandarin to a few Canadians and Americans when I was in university more than 10 years ago. And we still keep in touch now. Learning language is more about learning the culture. I am fascinated by the differences and similarities between Chinese culture and American Culture. And discovering those differences or similarities will create a big curiosity which will be very beneficial and effective when you learn the language.
In fact, many people don't know or never notice that Chinese is a very logical language and full of Chinese traditional wisdom. Even you don't agree China is becoming more and and more influential in the world, learning some Chinese culture and oriental philosophy will be an interesting journey.

I have been teaching English since 2016 at a local Elementary School and also to adults at a community center. Similar to many students, I also did not know how to speak English 20+ years ago.
My approach to teaching English is teaching all the skills that I used when I was learning how to speak English to my students to help them learn at a comfortable pace.
In addition, not only do I move at a student's speed/level but very often I collaborate with my students on creating lesson plans based on what they want to learn and/or what they would like to improve on.
On my free time, I volunteer with a Foster Care agency and I also mentor. Lastly, In addition to English, I also speak Haitian-Creole.
I've had many English teachers but I must say Christelle is the most patient, relaxed, good tempered, helpful, encouraging, respectful, and kind teacher there is. Christelle creates a comfortable and warm environment where you are able to learn at your pace. Christelle also had to learn the English language and it's comforting knowing that Christelle also struggled. Christelle has taught me great skills I will continue to utilize in my everyday life.

I had a chance to work with Christelle where she helped me improve my english. It was a great experience, she was patient with me and the lessons were at a comfortable pace for me to be able to grasp the information. I truly enjoyed having her as a teacher and would recommend her service to anyone who wants to learn English.
"Classes with Arron have been really helpful. I think if you have classes with him, you're getting a great value. It seems very important to him that I und
erstand what he's been teaching and that we complete the planned amount of work for each lesson. Not only that, but he has even been kind enough to extend his teaching beyond the virtual classroom by answering questions that I've had between classes through messages. It is so helpful to have someone who knows what he's talking about to answer the tough questions that are too hard to find the answers to with Google.
I really appreciate your teaching. Thank you, teacher Arron."
"Isabela is the BEST!!!"
