Post-Secondary Program from Canada's National Ballet School
I am a professional ballet dancer and I love to help students achieve "clean" un-stylized classical technique, whether they hope to gain admittance into top ballet schools, summer programs, audition for companies or to simply get in shape. I began training at age 3 and have experience with small and large schools. For my high school years, I trained with American Ballet Theatre's JKO School, where I received ABT certification to teach Levels Pre-Ballet - 3, then did my post secondary training with Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto. Since graduating, I have danced with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens in Montreal, Copenhagen's Tivoli Ballet Theatre and Semperoper Ballett in Dresden, Germany. I would be more than happy to share tips and encourage any age student as they reach for their individual goals.
Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced I love sharing the beautiful classical art of ballet with young students! I like to keep class fun while gently helping students retain habits that encourage a language of clean classical technique through proper form, allowing them to work toward

I have tried to find private English tutors at least five times for over the last ten years. The previous experiences weren't great. All the previous teachers tried to teach me ways to pronounce phonemes and syllables, such as sit vs. seat. I didn't get a lot from those tutoring and none of those lasted more than one or two months.
I have been tutored by Alex for more than six months and expect to stick with her as a teacher for long time. I was a little doubtful during the first class when she customerized my need by letting me read a paragraph from a novel. It turned out to be the right way for me to train my English accent, as the right accent is not only about correctly pronounce each phoneme, it is actually for the purpose of conveying the meaning and emotion to listeners.
Alex is very well prepared for each lesson. She sent me all kinds of materials for me to reduce accent. Some are various formats of reading materils; others are details about how to form mouth/tongue positions for different vowels/consanants.
She has golden ears and can find out what is missing after I read a paragraph to her and then can focus on the area that I need improvement on.
It's been a great experience to study with Alex. I recommend her to everyone who need accent reduction."

Confused about conjugating verbs in the subjunctive mood? Tutor Carol Beth L. shares how to conjugate them and when you need to... Le subjonctif is one of the most notorious subjects in French grammar for non-native speakers of French. It is a mood that expresses uncertainty and is often connected with feelings, emotions, wishes, or desires about a particular event. In fact, we English-speakers also have a subjunctive mood, but we don't often use it or realize when we do use it. Her …
