About Andrew
I've been studying music for 10 years now. Having come to music later in life than most, I find that I am more empathetic to the perspective of the beginning student than many teachers. I spent the Summer of 2009 teaching music fundamentals to groups of severely physically and mentally disabled children of all ages. Since then I've completed my Bachelors degree in Music, taught privately and with several established music schools.

To me, music is above all about transformation. Beautiful sound transforms our experience of the environment, and learning an instrument can help students approach life as one big instrument they need to practice to master.
Learning to play an instrument is also an experience of training one’s nervous system to gradually act and respond in new ways, and that kind of persistent, focused
, training is applicable to any new skill.
Last and definitely not least, playing music is fun.

*** Lesson Details ***

I plan my lessons around getting students to enjoy playing music as soon as possible, whether that means learning how to strum a chord rhythmically, playing their favorite song, or how to take a blues solo.
There are steps that have to be climbed to do more complex things and I encourage students to practice a little every day rather than for a long time once or twice a week. Developing a love of music and steady practice habits are more beneficial over the long term than practicing until your limit.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I currently have a living room space where I can teach, but it's small so it might be preferable to travel to you.

*** Travel Equipment ***
If necessary I can provide amplification, cables, and a microphone.

*** Specialties ***
Jazz, Folk, Blues, Rock, Hip-hop, Funk, Reggae.

About Tammy
I conduct group lessons for young children, which I am unable to state on my profile/list of services here. You can send me a message if you are interested in them!

I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn music, especially children, in a fun and enjoyable way! As someone who grew up around music (my mother is a music teacher!) I wish to give that chance to others.

I started playing the piano at around the age of four, and helped out as a substitute teacher at my mother's music school back in Singapore while in High School. I left shortly after to pursue music at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated summa cum laude in August 2013 with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production!

My students range from as 3.5 years old, to the grandmother of a couple of my students. I wo
rk mostly with children, but have a handful of adult beginner students I work with as well.

Everyone is different - and I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize my lessons and materials for each student. I'll push you (a little!), to make you realize just how much you can do!

Music is an all-rounded experience. Not only can I offer you a chance to learn how to play different styles of piano, from jazz to pop to classical, but I can also teach you how to write your own songs, arrange them, and perhaps (if you like) record them!

We are absolutely thrilled with our experience with Tammy. My two sons meet with her online to review the Mandarin language they take at school. The extra 30 min. a week of conversation and tone work is invaluable. I would rate Tammy a 10/10 as she sends highlights, a review and suggestions of study for the week after each lesson. If a person can have teenage boys look forward to "extra" Chinese weekly, they deserve a medal!

Bassist and composer Andrea Veneziani performs extensively within the improvised music scene, across a broad spectrum of genres. As a current faculty member of the New York Jazz Workshop, Andrea Veneziani is a dedicated educator. He has taught master classes at the National Institute of Music and the National University of Costa Rica, at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Olav Duun Videregående Skole in Namsos, Norway. About Oscar
As a Director, my proposal always takes a reflection on the text as starting point: an analytical commitment to the author's language as it comes expressed in its structure and stylistic features. In the sense I illustrate it, it means to exert an interpretative freedom within the boundaries of what Roland Barthes called the semantic plural of a text.

Given a special interest in the experimentation through language I have restrained the scope of my reflection to the so-called theater of the absurd. In my work on that genre I have set as an aesthetic goal, to bring what was thought as a mainly dialogistic and situational language, to a higher level of semiotic interplay. In that regard, my aim is to integrate entire scenic materials (including lighting, set, and more abstract element such as rhythm) as intrusive and/or commentate resour
ces to the sources given within the text itself.

I have never been worried about plots that give an illusion that one "understands" just because the plot imposes an order that is similar to life; where the word "dramatic development" is implicit, creating a unique sensation for the spectators. As Luciano Berio said about his splendid music, "the experience of not being completely sure of what one listens to, should be considered inseparable to the work." That's to say, not all have to be comprehended by the spectator. And as a dramatist friend says, "sometimes, not even the author, who writes, understands." It is about leaving marks, milestones, footsteps that bring a hidden sense, leaving a perceptible and therefore, terrible, ineffable image. A teacher I had at the university said in class, "Art is not about questions and answers, Art is
