Having fun!

Dear Allie, We are so happy to have found you this summer. It is amazing to see Nicholas stay so focused and interested for an hour at the piano. His love of music seems to have grown since we started lessons with you. We really appreciate your capacity to adapt to his needs and to keep him excited. Thanks!
Justin P. Riverdale, GA

About Justin

My name is Justin P. I have a love for music that started when I was two years old when I would always want to play on any piano, or keyboard that was around. At the age of five years old, my parents signed me up for piano where I played for 13 years at the The Piano Academy in College Park, Georgia. At the age of ten years old, I joined the band at Fayette Middle School where I started playing percussion. Upon graduation from high school and the Piano Academy, I attended the Atlanta Institute of Music where I studied in a two year rigorous musicianship program. I completed the program with a Certificate of Musicianship in Music Production, Engineering and Recording. *** Travel Equipment *** I will provide the music. Justin provides piano lessons for my 3 daughters ages 16, 11 & 9. He has been their teacher for 4 years or so. He's professional & on time.

I'm a picky Mom. So I'm blessed to have a music teacher I feel comfortable w/ when it comes to my girls...& someone who is talented about music. I love to hear my girls play piano for me. Couldn't trade a thing!

I've been taking lessons with Justin for like a year and a half. Not only is extremely knowledgeable about piano, he teaches it well too. I previously had about 8 years of piano experience, and he catered to my level and knew exactly how to teach me. He also works around my schedule and comes to my home which is super convenient, and unlike any other instructor I've had. Justin is very professional and friendly. I recommend him as an instructor to anyone no matter your piano level.
Shannon B. Tyrone, GA

About Shannon

Music is my passion, my hobby, my career and my gift. I have been performing since age 7 and teaching for the last 25 years. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in music and love to share my knowledge and experience with all ages and aptitudes - even special needs. My approach to teaching is fun but serious, laid-back but encouraging, demanding but forgiving. I teach students how to be disciplined with their practice and how to make the most of their limited time. *** Lesson Details *** I can help you achieve your goals! For those who want a well-rounded music education, I include music theory (note and rhythm reading), technique, ear training, improvisation and performance practice in my curriculum using a variety of methods. I enjoy working with adults interested in ...

I wish school was this fun

Ms. Shannon's lessons are fun and exciting. I wasn't sure if I was going to like taking lessons even though I did want to learn to play. She makes the lessons fun and she is very patient and not intimidating.

builds confidence

Shannon is an excellent teacher. She makes the lessons fun. She helps the student feel confident in their abilities. Shannon encourages the student to meet the challenges they face. She understands each of her student's strengths and challenges and develops individualized lessons to meet their needs. She helps students feel comfortable during her lessons and makes sure they can practice independently with confidence. She hosts recitals so her students have chance to show off their skills and socialize with each other. I would highly recommend Shannon as a piano teacher.

Jody B. Carrollton, GA

About Jody

I'm a retired teacher who has played guitar for 40+ years. I'm a fingerstyle guitarist and perform at weddings and special events. I've taught most styles to all ages. I'm probably not the one to teach your teenager to play heavy metal, however. I do teach ingerpicking, country, classical, pop, and even Hawaiian slack key. I specialize in beginning children and adults. I also teach mountain dulcimer and ukulele. With children, I use a method book to teach music fundamentals and balance that by encouraging the child to learn to play songs that interest him/her. With adults, I want to teach what you're interested in learning. I believe we learn best when we are excited by the material and challenged to reach the next level. I have taught special needs music students - ...
