I have been gigging, both classically and in jazz, in the greater DFW Metroplex for about 9 years. I attended high school close by, and I am the only two-time 6A All-State tenor trombonist in my city's history. I have completed two years at the University of North Texas, and have been teaching for approximately two years. I consistently double between tenor & bass trombone, having a great deal of experience in both instruments, in both classical and jazz settings. Outside of trombone, I also play trumpet/cornet, tuba, vocals, guitar, bass, and piano. I am an avid rock/metal listener, and compose my own music, mainly fusing metal and jazz. Because of this, I feel this makes me an extremely diverse instrumentalist. I have studied with such influential figures as Tony Baker (UNT, Dallas Opera Orchestra), Steve Menard (UNT, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra), Dennis Bubert (UT Arlington, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra), and more.
About Daniel
Daniel began playing music in 6th grade. His dad is a guitarist/vocalist/flautist (he gigs in the south DFW area) and brought him up in a very musical household. Since then, Daniel has played with groups such as Scott & Steve, Big Gus & Swampadelic, the Pecos River Brass Big Band, and the Fort Wor

Why TakeLessons?
Hear From TakeLessons Students
Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Aside from technique, each lesson was equivalent to a college course in music theory. She understands that technique is only half of playing an instrument and the importance of knowing the reason each note falls where it does. This may sound overwhelming, but Angela never gives you more than you can handle, while challenging you to improve at a rapid pace. It was an extremely gratifying experience and I am thrilled at the progress that I made in under a year."

Some amazing singers may not teach, some amazing teachers may not sing Stephanie you have a god given talent to do both.... stay in your magic!"

Anna is an outstanding teacher who really understands how to get through to a student! She places a lot of emphasis on physical aspects of violin technique such as relaxation, that often go unaddressed by most teachers, leading to future problems.
The most striking thing about Anna's pedagogical style is that she is truly passionate about bringing the music to life. She constantly emphasizes the emotional interpretation of the music, however simple the piece may be, and ensures that the student projects the right tonal quality and color to bring out these interpretations.
Working with her has been a great experience, and I always eagerly look forward to the next lesson!"

I have been taking singing lessons with Gina for several months now. I have always been extremely self conscious of my voice but it's something I've always wanted to conquer. Gina has done a really nice job providing a safe, constructive, playful, supportive, and judgement-free environment to explore and improve in. I always appreciate how flexible she is with scheduling, as my hours are sometimes hard to predict. I really look forward to our time together. It's very therapeutic."

When you decide to take voice lessons, as you are looking for a teacher you may encounter the phrase “bel canto method” (as in, “I teach the bel canto method”). It sounds fancy, but what does it mean? Read on as New York voice teacher Natalie W. explains... Bel canto refers to both a musical style and the singing method that was developed to sing that style. It originated with the first operas during the Baroque era (early 1700s) - best exemplified by the music of Handel - and was …
