Spanish I-IV tutoring offered, Spanish phonics and pronunciation assistance

About Daniel
My name is Daniel B. I have my A.A. Degree and I am currently a junior at Washington University in St. Louis. I am majoring both in Psychology and Biology with a strong emphasis on counseling, research and medicine.

Since its founding in 2006, I have been involved Neighbor to Neighbor Outreach (NTNO), a non-profit organization whose goal it is to insure that the children, youth, and adults of inner-city St. Louis are provided tutoring for every imaginable subject.

My teaching style is quite simple and effective. I initially gauge the student's level of understanding of the subject or skill that he/she wishes to master. I then create a comprehensive learning plan which pushes the student to his/her limits while making the learning process both enjoyable and rewarding.

If you find yourself in need of my assistance, just let me kn

Daniel was the perfect tutor for my son's prep for the GED. He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!

I have been teaching Spanish for 3 years in British public and private schools. My students develop not only knowledge of the language but also understanding of the countries where it is spoken. With a degree in teaching I have learn to use a variety of learning methods to best suite my students: mnemonic, musical or using movements. Language learning does not need to be boring!

About Martina
I am an Italian living in Las Vegas since 2013. I have started teaching in 2010, first as an outdoor instructor and then as a language teacher in both private and state school in the UK, and as a private tutor in the USA. I am passionate about languages, in particular my mother tongue Italian, and Spanish, because they open new doors and allow for better communication and intercultural understanding. I aim to engage my students with a variety of teaching techniques to keep them interested, challenged and having fun!

I love the outdoors. I am a climber, ski instructor and a professional photographer.

Professor Elisa corrected the bow technique and solved an injury I had for years in the right arm.
Thanks to her I was able to play the concert of Haydn in C as soloist.
After having had the opportunity to be his student I have improved considerably and managed to expand my sonorous concept considerably.
She is very pedagogic and has a great patience to solve the personal problems that I had from a very empathetic and above all corporal.
Today I can say that to be about to leave the race for my injury I am competing prominently at the national level (Chile)

Elisa is wonderful! She has enormous amounts of energy that translate to her cello playing and teaching. She not only is a great teacher but also a very musical and technically capable cellist. As a college student she pushed me and also gave me the skills I needed to improve. Elisa is kind and thoughtful. She could beginners to advanced students with anything cello related.

I've know Elisa for seven years when we met at Yale School of Music. She is very passionate about teaching and all her students have come along way since they started taking lessons with her. She really knows how to adjust to every student and to bring the best out of them. Her commitment to music is unique and her sensitivity and musicianship makes her an outstanding cellist and musician. I recommend her tremendously.

Personalised and dynamic classes for all levels!
Lessons are shaped to the student's need: grammar, vocabulary, fluency, accent...

About Raquel
Hi!

I have been tutoring students since I was an undergrad back in Spain. While doing so, I realised there are very few better feelings besides the satisfaction of being a part of the improvement of your student's skills and knowledge.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in philology, so I have a deep knowledge on how languages construct themselves and work. Besides, I have a Master's degree in Literary Studies and am currently a PhD student in Literary Studies. But most importantly, I was born in Madrid (Spain) and lived there for over twenty years, so you'll get to learn Spanish and its culture from a truly Madrilenian!

My tutoring approach is based mostly on theory and practice, with a lot of perseverance! I usually like to teach some aspect of the language and then make the student approach it in a practical way. Lessons can be tailor
ed to meet the student's specific needs, though! Each student is different from the rest, and therefore learns in an individual way and at an individual pace. Personal tutoring will always be provided to ensure you're always getting what you need: grammar, vocabulary, fluency, accent...

Raquel is a very meticulous and gifted teacher. She was well prepared from the very first lesson and she always made sure her explanations were clear before moving on. She helped dispel many doubts I carried along in my mind for a long time in Spanish grammar. The classes are fun, friendly, and are aimed at the serious-minded student. Highly recommended.

Matías and I first met through the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching program in 2008 and have remained in touch ever since. We have worked together and collaborated thtoughout the years in various ways. Matías is a dedicated and experienced teacher who strives to create memorable and practical lessons. He likes making students think out of the box and often brings his interests to the classroom, making for a content-based class. He is creative and tries new methodologies and ideas, as he is up-to-date on the latest language teaching trends. He is also fun and kind-hearted. I strongly recommend Matías and doubt you'll find a better language teacher.

Spanish

About Charles
I am a graduate of The DePaul University School of Music where my performance training was rooted in orchestra, wind symphony, chamber ensembles, baroque music ensembles, 20th century music, and solo repertoire. While at DePaul, I had the privilege of studying with Alyce Johnson of The Chicago Lyric Opera.

Additionally, DePaul University's courses in pedagogy and orchestral repertoire, taught by members of the Chicago Symphony and San Fransisco Symphony Orchestras, have helped shape my teaching to accommodate all skill levels and various learning styles.

After completing school in Chicago, I moved to Boston to further my performance and teaching careers while pursing a Masters in music performance at The Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA.

In order to have a fulfilling plan, I believe that students should work at their own p
ace with guidance and support while setting realistic short and long-term goals. With this process, students succeed, gain positive energy, and continuously improve. In giving students space, this method encourages vital components: independence, responsibility, and curiosity.

New York, NY

I hold an MA in Higher Education, which I completed in Spanish while enrolled in courses regarding grammar and syntax. I have experience preparing students for the AP Spanish exam and helping middle schoolers with their regular assignments.

About Marianela
I came to New York to accomplish a long-standing ambition: To become a professional pianist and a complete musician working as a teacher and a performer. Now that I have accomplished my goals, I would like to share my knowledge with my students and make them feel the music as deeply as I feel it!

My teaching philosophy is to provide a comprehensive music instruction that is not only about notes and rhythm, but also about connecting performance with theory, technique, collaboration, self-reflection and creativity from an early age. One of the key elements to reinforce the work that I do with my students is to help them notice the possibilities within a piece, which is when the student determines what the piece is “telling them”, what it “looks like”, how could it be improved, and what other instruments they are “hearing.”

My work experie
nce includes fifteen years as a piano soloist, accompanist, and instructor. I teach in group and individual settings in Spanish and English to ages 3 – adult and organize classical and contemporary repertory to teach and present in concerts. In my present position I use improvisation exercises to teach students music concepts such as rhythm and dynamics, and graphic and listening aids to teach about orchestral instruments. I share with parents their children’s progress and also offer advice that can help my students when they practice.

Contact me and let's have a conversation about your goals and what you need to accomplish them. Thank you!
