It's nice to meet you! My name is Danielle and I have been signing since I was in elementary school.  I decided to pursue my passion for ASL and become an interpreter.  I am currently working in the Washington DC area as a nationally certified sign language interpreter. I became certified in Jan 2020.  

I love teaching and helping students realize their full potential.  I want my students to become confident in their signing so they feel comfortable signing with members of the Deaf community!  I understand that each person has their own unique story as to why they want to learn sign language and I want to help you realize your goals.

As with any language, practice and using the language is crucial.  ASL is its own unique language with its own grammar structure and syntax.  Practicing will only make you better and I can provide tips on how to practice during your time in between our lessons.

If you a current student in an Interpreter Training Program I would be happy to help not only with language acquisition but the interpreting process as well.

Learn some basic medical signs to talk about going to the doctors, hospital, etc. In this class we will focus on medical signs that beginners might use in conversation to talk about past medical experiences, or future appointments.

The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID), a national membership organization, plays a leading role in advocating for excellence in the delivery of interpretation and transliteration services between people who use sign language and people who use spoken language.
