Shawn has the best introduction to deaf culture that I've seen in any beginner class or tutoring. I think I've seen about 4 of them now. This is on top of her being the kind of enthusiastic teacher that most likely will leave her students with a love of ASL and a love of learning ASL. There's not a whole lot more one can ask of a teacher.

I jumped in a bit in the middle, having only self-taught before now, but felt very welcomed. Shawn was very patient with me, and the small class dynamic was great.
