American Sign Language

My name is Sheilah and I am from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I grew up in the Deaf community and started church interpreting at 14, and started interpreting professionally at 18. I worked mainly in the educational setting; however, I also did my own freelancing and love to do musical interpretation. I quit interpreting professionally in 2018 as a QAST level V interpreter, because of a bilateral hearing loss. I love to teach and I love sign language and Deaf culture!

In this course, you will learn over 35+ signs related to food. The signs that will be taught will range from grapes to avocados! Time to learn your fruit and vegetable signs!

She was awesome! Very patient and encouraging. Enabled me to think for myself. If I didn't know the sign, she showed me but I had to try them out and make up my own mind. Can't wait for my next lesson. She really motivates me.
