I've been sewing my clothes since 13. I was supporting myself during my years in Art Institute by sewing for clients. After graduating I partnered with SBA Concern and my designs were produced commercially. In 1994 I got award for pachwork design from French magazine "Modes & Travauch". I can teach how to sew from table runner to coat and beyond.

About Dovile
I began teaching while studying in Art Institute. My first students were 5 to 7 yr. old kids. It was very challenging, but also very rewarding. I was teaching them skills, they were teaching me patience. Later the age of my students grew, until I ended up teaching the same students I was in the same classes just 6 months ago. Again another challenge. I love challenges and even more I love helping others to overcome them.
My philosophy about teaching is that everybody can learn, it is only the way how we learn is different for different people. Another very important thing - I strive to be creative, respectful and approachable.

About Janessa
Hello,

I've been designing & sewing since childhood. My grandparents were keen for all parts of the arts. Learning to sew, embroider, knit, crochet, and oil paint. I attended school at the International academy of design & technology, in downtown Chicago. Earning my Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. I have been running my own business for 9 years. I had the opportunity to start my business working out of my home, using Etsy service, and currently have my own e-commerce site. I have been interning students for approximately 3 years now. Now, I would like to pass on my wisdom and knowledge to anyone who has an interest in learning how to sew, or anything in the Fashion Field. If there is something in particular in the Fashion World, please reach out. I am willing to work with you on a particular area. I am known to be very patient, friendl
y, and easy going.

I have been teaching small group classes of children between the ages of 5 and 13 since 2010. My favorite memory from my earliest class was when my 10 year old student went home and adjusted her mother's sewing machine to sew properly! I have taught classes from very basic sewing machine skills to machine quilting.

About Angela
I learned to crochet in grade school, taught myself to knit and learned to sew from my mother at a very early age. Teaching grade school children/students is my passion. I believe learning to knit and sew can help students learn a level of patience and persistence that will help them in their school work.
In October, I retook and passed the NCLEX, and I have restored my nursing license to active status. I would love to tutor nursing students of all levels. My professional background is in Pediatrics - especially Pediatric Critical Care. I'm especially passionate about helping nursing students that need help with basic math/algebra.

Custom classes designed to fit your specific needs. Lessons for the beginner and intermediate sewer who needs some help. Do you need help with learning a specific technique, installing zippers, adding a lining, hand stitching, pockets, choosing the correct needle, thread, seam variations or just want to learn how to alter your own clothing? Each class will be designed personally for you.

About Terry
I learned to sew as a teenager. It became a hobby that I became passionate about that grew into a business when I decided to take an early retirement. I’m interested in helping others learn how to perfect their skills and and be proud of their work.

I’m familiar with the challenges that sewing can present and knows the patience that it can take. Some time you may need that extra help or opinion on how to get something done correctly. I would like to share my experience and lessons learned with you.

The teacher was knowledgeable about all aspects of sewing and was able to tell me how to finish off one of my projects that I brought with. It was a jacket and skirt. I needed help mostly with the jacket and mainly understanding the finishing instructions for the jacket. I sewed some in the hour during the lesson and then Terry showed me on the instructions what to do at home. She then asked me to bring a new sewing project that we could start together when I come in two weeks. I would highly recommend Terry to any level of sewer wanting lessons. She is also a very kind lady as well.

I've had a few lessons with Sonya under my belt now and I could not be happier with her as my instructor. I came into this with very specific things I wanted to learn or touch on and she has been very knowledgeable. I'm not an absolute beginner, more of an advanced beginner and she adapts her lesson plans accordingly. She knows her stuff, she's great at teaching, flexible and just an all around cool chick. Money and time well spent.

I have been sewing since 1979 and embroidering since 1985. I am experienced in all forms of sewing, alterations, applique and embroidery. I can teach simple things like hemming pants, making garments to making products to sale. With technology today, sewing is easy because of the advanced sewing machine but you still have to know the basic such as: knowing your sewing machine, how to cut out a pattern, mark it and size it, how to pick the correct fabric for your project, how to cut the fabric on the bias and fold, how to mark fabric for hemming, darts and seam allowance. If you are doing it for personal reasons or as a business, I can help you.

About Jacquilin
Hello future seamstress, I started sewing in high school over 40 years ago and I still sew everyday. I love thinking, creating and designing for the WOW factor. I will show how something a simple as trim, buttons, mix and matching fabric, adding applique or embroidery and so much more can change the entire look of your project. with my passion and your desire to learn, you will advance from a beginner to the next step. I owned a daycare for 14 years so I am use to working patiently, repeating myself and go over the instructions until you get. My success as a teacher depends on you and how well you learn. We will be a team and I believe in winning. Let's get ready set and SEW!!!!
