About Takosha
I Attained a Master's degree due to a sincere love to teach hungry students. Within my professional history, I have been elected to become a certified trainer to teach representatives the importance of leading students to a higher education within the collegiate environment. It is my duty as a teacher, trainer and instructor, to empower students to believe and always be true to their voice and academic education.

In addition to voice teaching, I am an online college instructor covering general courses and business courses. I also provide continuing education courses for businesses and organizations. In addition, I am a home school teacher for my own children. Therefore, I am experienced in working with adult students and youth. Please see the list of subjects that I tutor and feel free to request a subject that may not be listed.

Voice and singing has been a part of my life since birth. I sing and lead others within the church and fellowship environments. While in the military, I formed a choir in Iraq during the Iraqi Freedom War and received the Director’s award. The choir was full of soldiers and airmen, and we were all given a sense of peace in the middle of war through the singing of blended angelic voices. I have performed in the U.S states and other countries for Generals, Colonels and the like. Locally, I support the military through events in singing the National Anthem for SCAD, Savannah State, and Armstrong Atlantic University. I also lead within the music ministry of Harvest Light Church.

I taught at Charisma Studios and worked side by side with students within the Broadway Dreams Foundation and many gifted people in Atlanta, Georgia. I have taught students within a Georgia State Youth Challenge program to challenge not only their voices but their character to move forward in life. I'm currently singing in Savannah and South Georgia areas. The voice inside of me grows daily and I live to share with others what I experience everyday of my life.

*** Lesson Details ***
When a student chooses to work with me, he or she will gain much strength through my teaching style. I enjoy listening to the student to pinpoint their individual need. I am very attentive to detail to ensure the student will receive everything that he or she has come to receive. I will do all that I can to the best of my ability, and with everything that I currently know and have learned. I learn from students everyday, therefore I am not the only teacher in the lesson.

When students reach the 3 month mark in voice, they will be able to hear themselves and correct their mistakes on their own. They will know if they are an alto, tenor or soprano or maybe all 3! These are the first steps to becoming a teacher themselves one day. At the 6 month point, students will have the confidence to be able to blend with other voices. If students pay attention and continue to practice they will be on their way to take steps to begin the solo and leading stages.

Within the aspect of academic tutoring, the students will learn new methods and techniques suitable for them in order to gain more confidence in the subject that is challenging them. Everyone learns differently, it is my passion to find out how the student learns and to apply the best practices and techniques to their learning experience to ensure their success in that subject.

*** Specialties ***
I teach students to sing from their diaphragm which helps them to breathe better while singing. It brings a smoother sound and it does not strain the voice. I also teach pitches and volume concerning specific songs being taught. The voice warm-ups and songs that are incorporated into the lesson, help to train the ear. It is important that a voice student learns how to hear the sound of music, so he or she can sing with any instrument including another voice:-)

Academically, I learn the student, so the student can learn.

Linda is easily the most patient and welcoming person I've ever worked with. She has incredible knowledge over a vast array of topics and she is eager to share with others. This, in my opinion, is the most important quality of all teachers. Her lessons have proved a great way to build a solid base in my field of interest. as well as providing me with a well rounded and wonderful mentor that I'm sure to rely on for many other lessons in the future- banjo or otherwise!

If you are looking for an experienced and dedicated teacher to help you get high scores on TOEFL or IELTS or to prepare for college admission in the USA, look no more. As a current teacher at an intensive English program in Georgia, USA, I have been teaching grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and test prep to students applying to colleges in English-speaking countries or improving their English to be better qualified for professional growth. I am also pretty comfortable working on more general goals such as daily conversation, US culture, reading for content, etc.

Here is my philosophy of teaching in a very very brief form: I am a big believer in needs analysis and diagnostic. Before any goals are set, it is imperative to understand students' backgrounds, aspirations for their future, and proficiency levels. Additionally,
I believe that setting tangible goals drives improvement and increases motivation. Finally, feedback, feedback, feedback! Intonation or vocabulary usage, personalized and specific feedback is what my students get and love.

As far as methodology goes, I am pretty eclectic. Again, methods and approaches are chosen based on students' needs. Sometimes we just have to work on drilling sounds and intonation or some simple grammar concepts like “do/does”, while at other times open conversation is the best way to practice the same content. One key component that doesn’t change is the focus on the student. I work hard on planning my lessons so that my students do most of the work during class. I also strive to contextualize everything around real life by choosing materials that are recent and relevant.

I was born and raised in Paris, close to Montmartre. After my Master's degree, I started tutoring French as a second language to American students in exchange programs in Paris. I loved it so much that I basically never stopped.

French is a demanding but extremely rewarding language to learn. In my classes, they are no stupid questions, and no mistakes. Learning a language is a very humbling process that needs to happen in a safe and joyful environment. This is what you will find in my classes.

A bientôt!

I am a native English speaker that loves teaching the language to others. Having learned Spanish as a second language, I have a personal understanding of the challenges involved and the need to continually practice learned skills. I know that learning a second language is quite different from how you learned your primary language and as such, requires a different technique. I use a broad set of techniques to help you with your journey.

About Alexander
Hello everyone! My name is Alexander (Alex). I am a recent graduate of the University of Georgia (with majors in political science and international affairs as well as minors in Chinese and Japanese). Previously I have worked as a Mandarin Chinese tutor for elementary school-aged kids and enjoyed the opportunity to make my own lesson plans and teach what I want to rather than just helping classmates with random assignments or completing busywork. Outside of Chinese I am well-qualified to tutor students in other subjects as well, some of which include Japanese, history, geography, and even writing. I am an IB Diploma recipient, graduated near the top of my high school class, graduated magna cum laude from UGA and was initiated into Phi Beta Kappa.

I have always viewed helping people as one of the most important things I could do and my pe
rsonal philosophy is that any activity is worth doing as long as you learn something from it and enjoy it. To me, tutoring is the intersection of these two ideas and can therefore fulfill my desire not only to help people but to provide them with a chance to learn something new. With tutoring, I can become far more acquainted with the students than in a conventional classroom, learn about what works best for them, and use all of my available resources to create a unique as well as effective lesson plan. As long as a person is willing to learn, I am ecstatic to help them reach their goals and become a more globally aware person. As for my methods, I could be described as a "by the book" kind of instructor who makes use of numerous textbooks or related materials to form a well-rounded lesson plan. For example, one session may be just learning vocabulary or grammar and then another week may be spent learning about the origins of the language or making cultural arts and crafts. It is not out of the ordinary for lessons to include a bit of everything if time provides. I stress reviewing the material often and because of that I may create flashcards, give homework, or provide access to certain resources online which may help the student memorize the material between lessons. If something needs to be reviewed, I will make sure it is well-learned before jumping to the next topic so as to make sure the student does not become lost amidst an avalanche of unfamiliar terms. I also like to integrate videos or my own personal experience into the lessons so the students may see the real-world applications of the skills they are learning.
