I excel in language arts, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing - including essay writing, poetry and song lyrics. I also teach diction (pronunciation) and reading aloud/oral expression.
I am fluent in Hebrew, and studied Spanish for 3 years in high school. My background in these foreign languages helps me understand how to teach English to non-English speakers, as well as to native English-speakers.
As a tutor, I am patient, intuitive, friendly, and positive. :-)
I have been teaching music (guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, recorder, music theory, and classes for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults) for over 20 years. I am also a band/show director at the School of Rock! In addition to teaching music, I also tut

During my 11+ years of ESL teaching I have worked with all levels of adult students; from beginners to advanced English skills. The opportunity of teaching students one-on-one enhances & improves my student's learning, comprehension and ability to advance their English speaking skills. My knowledge & strengths of English grammar and sentence structure affords students a deeper understanding and education about English rather than simply learning basic conversation skills.

I have studied French since I was a child, and continued studies throughout my undergraduate years. After finishing my music graduate degrees, I pursued continuing education via private study with a native French citizen and language professor.
While I didn't pursue a language degree, many European and native French speakers and teachers have verified the authenticity of my accent and command of the language. While I continue my pursuit of ever increasing skills and fluency, at this point in time I would be most helpful as a tutor or instructor for beginner and intermediate levels of French language learners.
Taking a "road less traveled" as both a violinist and a flutist, Jami has spent a lifetime pursuing achievements on two diverse orchestral instruments. She is an active free lance musician on both instruments in Pittsburgh, PA and the metropolitan Kansas City area. She also performed frequently in
Jami was an amazing teacher! She was personable, encouraging and alleviated all my fears and concerns. She understood my busy schedule and was very accommodating. The lessons were more relaxed than I had initially anticipated. It did not take long before I began feeling comfortable handling the violin and bow. Through Jami, I also learned a great deal about the history and construction of the violin, music for the violin and music theory.
Jami taught a mix of Suzuki, scales and multiple technique and method books; all complementing each other on my path to progressing as a violinist. As an adult, it was nice to gradually incorporate more tunes a mature adult would appreciate playing while continuing to build on the basics. After the first few months, I particularly enjoyed learning how to play violin duets with Jami or having Jami accompany me on the piano. I always left my lessons with a feeling of accomplishment.
I only ceased lessons due to Jami relocating, but I am looking forward to online lessons once I am more technologically capable of doing so. You will not be disappointed if choosing Jami as a teacher!

I have been teaching EFL for 20 years and am a native English speaker. I've taught EFL in Mexico, Guatemala, and the United States.
I teach to each students strengths and break down the grammar into easy to comprehend portions, as well focusing on the spoken aspect of the language; since it is the most important aspect of being able to communicate in the language. I utilise pictures, word association, songs, and a variety of techniques to reinforce and remember vocabulary.
In addition, I like to break lessons into 2-3 parts to avoid boredom on the part of the student. This can also include games specifically tailored to English-language learners.
I am a teacher with over 20 years experience in Spanish, French, ESL, Social Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Sociology. My philosophy of learning is that it should be fun, not just memorization. I incorporate a variety of different teaching methods to keep class interesting, such as songs,
