I've been teaching Guitar for over 30 yrs.
Step by step guidance and exercises catered to the students ability and growing interest is key. My form of teaching helps all students through walks of life to establish a relationship with their instrument that helps them use the the time they have to better themselves at their pace.

About Rene

Knowing at the age of 5 that music was my life, by being brought up surrounded by praise music and gospel, my early exposure to music helped me to find every Instrument and style just my thing! I wanted to play everything and learn all aspects of music. I started with singing in the children's choi

I've taught hundreds of lessons, over the past ten years. I have written, recorded, and produced my own songs, performed solo, and with bands. I have over 35 videos, and many of them are tutorials. I am sure I can teach and inspire you. Would you like to learn how to read music, or simply play your favorite songs? Or, perhaps you'd like to understand music better in general. Of course I can teach you scales, music theory, songwriting, and improvisation.

About Justin

I have played publicly in bands and as a solo act. I have written, produced, and recorded my own music. Otherwise, I have taught over a hundred lessons in my teaching career. You will be satisfied with me as your teacher.

About Brian

Getting a music education is fun, and it should be. Why else would you put yourself through the gauntlet of learning a new instrument? My philosophy is simple: I teach people first, and music second. What I'm interested in is developing your sound and love of the craft of music, and all the technic

Brian is an outstanding teacher! Brian is very patient and encouraging. That is what I need from an instructor. He also gives me a variety of tools to help me find which ones work better for me to learn more fully and to really enjoy the process of learning an exciting new craft, especially at my young age of 61! These qualities I believe great teachers possess.

I like to show my students how the guitar can be a small orchestra. The possibilities of sounds and colors that it can provide is unknown to other instruments and that is what makes it so great. Unlike the piano where a small hammer hits the strings or the violin where the bow frictions them, we have to produce the entire sound on the guitar with our own hands. The process is more personal and, even though it can be harsh at times, it is always satisfying. I also try to bring a more creative part of music when studying the instrument, which keeps classes more dynamic and interesting. I bring my own experiences so that the students can relate in different levels of difficulty.

About Hugo

I'm a professional guitarist, composer and arranger. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Diploma in Professional Music. I started playing electric guitar and then expanded also to the classical guitar, which has broaden extensively my approach to different styles of music. Each styl

Hugo is a very patient teacher and has a lot of musical knowledge to pass along. I went to my first lesson with him without knowing anything about music or the guitar and now I already feel some confidence talking about the subject. He gradually deepens the subject and always makes sure you understood before going forward. I super recommend him!

Hugo is one of a kind. Great teacher and an amazing human being! Took lessons with him back in Boston while he was still studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and it couldn't have been better. Improved my repertoire and my technique meanly when it comes to fingerstyle. Highly recommended!

"My son is 7 years of age and has never received any music lessons. I bought him a guitar for his birthday and he was just happy to play with it without any guitar lessons. I convinced him otherwise. I did not know what to expect from Glenn. I knew about him because he was highly recommended in our Long Beach neighborhood. I signed my son up and after a few minutes of being with Glenn, my son was hooked. He came away from his first 30 minute session saying, “wow…I did not know I could play the guitar!”. My son was so excited. As a parent…that is very exciting! I was sold! I was amazed how he was able to pick up what Glenn taught him within that first lesson. Glenn made it fun. The atmosphere was very relaxed and his style of teaching clicked with my son right away. After basically 12 sessions, my son was able to perform at a musical recital Glenn hosted for his students. Not only was I proud of my son, I also got to see kids of all ages and adults performing that day and it was pretty impressive. Overall, I highly recommend Glenn. He is able to keep my 7 year old boy focused and teaches him effectively while making it fun!"

"As an adult student of intermediate skill level, I was looking for a guitar teacher to improve my picking technique and my improvisational skills. In the first two lessons, Jesse observed what I was struggling with, and he took the time to understand what I enjoyed working on the most. He custom-tailored a practice plan for me, and we keep updating it from lesson to lesson, depending on my progress. Thanks to Jesse, both my dexterity and my ability improvise have increased quite substantially already. Jesse quickly understands your skill level, he delivers perfectly tailored instructions, and he helps you get your skills to the next level."

Introduction to Proper Guitar Posture

As a beginner, proper guitar posture is one of the most important beginning steps before you learn about chords, picking, and strumming. Sadly, learning proper guitar posture is often an afterthought to learning to play. Although whether you choose to sit or stand has little effect on your tone or technique, proper guitar posture is important for many other reasons. Why Is Proper Posture Important? Proper guitar posture makes the work of your hands and fingers easier, conserving your energy. …
