Great, Confident and Knowledgable Instructor!

In the short amount of time I've worked with John, he has really helped me to understand the instrument, how my body and my breath effect pitch and has really helped me to overcome my concerns with picking up the Trumpet after 10 years of not playing. He relates music to me in a way that makes it understandable and encourages me to better my playing. Great instructor! Highly recommended!

About Tiffini

I offer a fun, interactive teaching style that encompasses more than 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience. As a performer I have worked as a professional singer, actor, musician, and dancer. I have always had a passion for teaching, directing, and composing. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor because I was primarily looking for patience. I have a long time fear of singing and singing in front of people, Tiffini is very patient and easy to work with.

I would like to start off with by saying that Tiffini is an amazing teacher. I have been taking lessons with her for the last year and a half through Skype and each lesson in that time with her has been an enjoyable experience. I started taking speaking voice lessons with her then switched to singing lessons. She was able to help me immensely on both my speaking voice and singing; getting rid of my mumbling for former and helping me to regain confidence in the latter. With both types of lessons she was knowledgeable, encouraging, kind, patient, and a fun teacher to have. I could go on for at least a few pages about Tiffini, but bottom line is that she is a great teacher and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wanted to start taking lessons through takelessons.com.

I am an adult learner and wanted a teacher that did not treat me like a child. Erin is a great teacher and treats me like an adult. She helps me to attain my goals and works at my pace. She encourages me especially when I don't think I can do a particular piece or perform at a recital. I know she can take me through to any level I want to accomplish on the violin.

Erin is an awesome teacher. Jazmin, my daughter, has been playing cello for almost 2 years and was having a rough time, losing interest and motivation.Erin was of tremendous help. She immediately connected with my daughter, who needed a little push to keep going after we moved to a rural area and she left her friends behind, got her motivated again to start playing and now she is back at school where she will be part of the orchestra once again. Thank you very much for all your help,Erin!

Bijan is a very good guitar instructor. My daughter and I both took guitar lessons and he was able to work with us as individuals since we both had different skill levels. Bijan is very patient with his students and helped us through various learning obstacles. I highly recommend anyone that needs or wants to learn any musical instrument to take lessons from Bijan.

Bijan is a great teacher. Learning to play the cello as an adult is tough, but he's very organized and encouraging. The recital was very anxiety-inducing, but we did really well and I felt a great sense of accomplishment afterward. I am only discontinuing due to distance and time constraints.
Laura W. San Marcos, CA

About Laura

I teach voice, piano and guitar. My Music Degree from Point Loma Nazarene University is in Vocal Performance. I love what I do. I teach children through adults. I have lots of experience in worship leading for church if that is of interest. *** Lesson Details *** I am easy-going, but I expect you to practice. I am thorough in my approach. For Piano, I am most familiar with the Alfred method. I emphasize note reading and theory in each genre, guitar, voice and piano. Lessons can be combined, for example; if you are interested in both voice and guitar, you can take a longer weekly lesson and have both subjects covered! Weekly assignments are given and checked to see if done before proceeding to the next step! I do not recommend students come every other week. I recommend one lesson per ...

My experience working with Laura has been wonderful. She is a compassionate person with a beautiful voice and is quite experienced at providing guidance and techniques in improving my voice for singing. Her methods inculcate lifting up and elevating ones vocal capabilities, not tearing down or diminishing ones capabilities. I am very pleased with her professionalism and insight in how to work with and train my voice.

A RENEWED LOVE FOR PIANO!

Ryan has put the passion for piano back in my kids! About a year ago, my kids completely burned out on piano and had no desire to start back up. But then we found Ryan, and now they absolutely love playing and practicing.

I have a 12 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. They both adore Ryan and say that he makes learning piano fun. My son loves that Ryan finds fun apps for him so he can practice his piano notes on the iPad.

Ryan comes to our home for lessons. He is always incredibly timely (even arrives a few minutes early) and is always organized. If the kids have a question on a piece between lessons, he will FaceTime to help them through the work. He is great about using modern day technology to work with the kids in a way that they know and appreciate in order to teach them an instrument that is timeless. We cannot thank Ryan enough for putting the love of piano back in our children.

Ryan is hands down one of the best piano instructors I have ever had. He's nice, upbeat, funny, very passionate about what he does, and is a GREAT teacher! Oh, he is also amazing at playing the piano ;) I am naturally a shy person, but from the very first day, Ryan's passion and playful personality made him very easy to be comfortable with, and makes me excited to play everytime. Whenever I mess up, Ryan is great with patience, and will spend as much time as needed until I am finally able to understand, and is more than happy to re-explain to me what in the world a staccato triplet is when my mind completely blanks out.

Overall, Ryan is really one of the best teachers you can find. Many of my other instructors spoon fed me the material and felt almost awkward and uptight to be with. But not only is Ryan fun to be around, but I have learned far more. He helps me as needed, but gives me an opportunity to figure things out myself and it has left a stronger impression on me as a musician. Every week he comes in and I learn something new each time. He challenges me with stuff I would have thought impossible for me to do, and makes me surprise myself with what I am actually capable of doing and makes me stronger, which I think every great teacher does. I am very thankful to have him as my instructor and guide through the fascinating world of piano playing (: I would recommend him highly.

The great thing about Ryan is he's super passionate about what he does. You won't find a more organized, down to earth, patient teacher around.
He's very straight forward when he explains things and you feel comfortable coming to him with questions because he knows what he's talking about and he'll take the time to make sure that by the end you'll understand it too.
I can only give the highest recommendations for Ryan C.

Proper Singing Posture - What You Need to Know
Before you learn how to breathe, sing, or play any kind of instrument correctly, you need to ensure that you're creating the proper posture with your body. New singers frequently make the mistake of thinking that singing starts with controlling the vocal cords – those hard-working vocal folds we love to exhaust – but the secret to great singing is understanding how to use your whole body effectively. This starts with proper singing posture, enhanced by correct breathing techniques, and then furt
