Ferlyn has excellent skills in teaching dance. My daughter has improved her dance techniques in 3 classes. We highly recommend her to everyone that needs dance instructor.

Given all of the positive reviews, I am refraining from giving Ferlyn only one star. I am sure she is relatively competent as a teacher. The unfortunate aspect for which she is receiving such a poor review is a significant lack of professionalism.
I arranged piano lessons with Ferlyn for my mother.
Her first lesson (for which I was present) was fine.
I then found out that at their second lesson, Ferlyn showed up very sick. This was quite concerning, especially given my mother’s age. Ferlyn definitely should have canceled that second lesson and not showed up so sick.
Then, only two hours (!) before my mother’s scheduled third lesson, I receive a text message from Ferlyn stating the following:
“Hi Dominique, wanted to let you and your mom that piano lessons will be cancelled today because it is my Birthday! I will see her next week. :)”
This was incredible. This was a cancellation only two hours prior, not due to some emergency or even due to her illness which should have caused a cancelation the week before! This was because it was her birthday. Something that would have been understandable, were she to have let us know well in advance. I am sure she knew in advance when her birthday is.
This does not reflect on TakeLessons, as I have had great experiences with other teachers.
But this degree of inconsiderateness, first with regard to the illness and then with regard to the manner of cancellation, is appalling.

About Natone

My children had never played any instruments before. But Natone was very patient and explained the theory and the fundamentals to them. Thank you!

I worked with Natone for over a year at Taylor guitars. Every single day, as i was entering the property, I could hear Natone playing amazing pieces of music. Classical, Blues, or inspired pieces he just made up right then and there. He plays all his music with such a passion and focus that only an experience and well practiced hand could do while still being one of the humblest guys I have ever met. I started taking classical lessons from Natone a while back and at every lessson i learned something new that was vital to my growth and understanding as a guitar player, such as finger picking patterns, music theory, and songs that put his teachings into practice. He taught me how to play Bouree in E minor by Bach and Francisco Tarrega's Arabe Capricho. Natone is one the best and it was an honor and a privilige to have learned from him. Natone, wherever you are, good luck and good hunting.

Natone is a one of kind musician and teacher. He has developed his very own teaching method that is very in depth. It not only encompasses musical notation and the structure of the guitar notes and chords, but also gives you a grasp of the ever daunting music theory. If you are serious about learning guitar, and learning it the right way, give Natone a chance to lay some knowledge on you. I can assure you he will do just that! Happy Music Making!!!

Experienced piano teacher for 20+ years, available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation in their playing skills. I specialize in teaching as early as 3 yrs old, I typically use different methods of teaching, no specific curriculum, it depends on students' personality, cognitive development, age level. Sally has truly been the most wonderful instructor! I started taking lessons a few months ago with her. I played piano when I was younger but I wanted to get back into playing before my twins arrive. I am almost 8 months pregnant at this point and Sally has been kind, compassionate and so helpful in helping me remember the piano skills I didn't know I had in me and haven't used in many years. She challenged me, taught me things I never learned when I was younger and helped me improve across every lesson. I'd highly recommend Sally as a piano instructor for all ages and skill levels and I look forward to working with her again in the future!

I began taking Suzuki Violin Lessons at the age of 4...after learning the entire first book on my older sister's large violin! Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I applied myself to many hours of practice; as well as, performing solo, with small ensembles, and orchestra. I was privileged to sit as Concertmaster of the Georgia Allstate Orchestra for three consecutive years, after which time I moved to Wisconsin. Having begun instruction under Nobuyoshi Yasuda, Professor of Violin at the University of WI, Eau Claire, I was honored to win the Young Artist Competition, at the age of 18. I then performed the Paganini Violin Concerto No.1 (first movement) with the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra.

I have taught many students of all ages over the years, teaching my first lesson at the age of 14 - my violin teacher asked me to fill in for her, when she was out of town. I believe students of any age can learn to play the violin, if they are willing to apply themselves to ...

"I have been studying piano with professor Gabrielius Alekna in Vytautas Magnus University's Music Academy (Lithuania) for three years. Now we continue our lessons online and I am more than pleased to work with him - he is an amazing pianist, caring teacher and one of the most wonderful people that I've ever met. Over this time Gabrielius taught me to hear and understand (classical) music in new and very subtle ways, encouraged me to take challenging music pieces and successfully helped understand, learn and perform them. With Gabrielius' lessons and help I've won national and international piano solo and accompanists competitions, discovered new ways of interpretating music in piano duet and chamber music ensemble. Gabrielius' teaching distinguishes itself by calm and professional approach, which makes the learning process seem rather easy and pleasant than challenging or requiring much effort. The methods used by Gabrielius help achieve excellent quality in one's playing and create the feeling of freedom, which makes the music flow..."

How Much Time Should I Spend Practicing Guitar?

When you're beginning to learn guitar, you also have to learn how to practice. Follow this expert advice from guitar teacher Mike B. to find the proper amount of practice time you need to achieve your guitar goals...  As a guitar instructor, one of the most common questions I get asked is "how often should I practice?" Students are told various amounts of time that are deemed "proper" to practice each day. Some say a half hour, some say an hour, some say more, some say less. With all of thes …
