My musical journey began with piano lessons at age 8 followed by flute lessons the next year. My passion for the flute grew as I played in school bands from 4th to 12th grade. I attended Southwestern University from 2009 to 2013 and graduated with a BM in Music Performance on the flute (magna cum laude) and gave private lessons throughout most of my college career with great success. I have performed in several ensembles including the flute choir, wind ensemble and orchestra at SU, as well as The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin Orchestra in their production of The Mikado. I currently play with the Shimmer Flute Choir and Sounds of Silver Flute Quartet, and am an active member of the Houston Flute Club. Although classically trained I also enjoy classic rock and appreciate music ...
I have been teaching piano to students of all ages since 1992, both to individual students and groups. I taught with the Music Learning Center of Michigan. I have been a music teacher and choir director for a number of years as well. For eight years I have played the organ and piano for Church worship. *** Lesson Details *** Music should be appreciated and enjoyed. Lessons should be fun without sacrificing quality. Performance is an important part of learning so I provide two recitals every year- one for Christmas and another in the spring, at the end of the school year. *** Studio Equipment *** Separate room dedicated to teaching with upright piano, also has digital ...
As a Musicians Institute graduate, I've learned from exceptional drummers in the Los Angeles music industry. I gained and learned many tricks of the trade and can offer the same quality education to anyone. As a student myself, I realized that having great sound, solid timing and grove are just as essential as having cool beats to play. There are more technicalities to drumming than being able to play fast or having the best chops. Aside from learning how to play drums, knowing how to think about music, how to listen to music, and how to study music will give a great foundation to any student of any style. I first like to determine the students ability and understanding by working on a few coordination exercises and reading exercises. From a good foundation, I build a curriculum,

While a student at MI, Robert was given the Outstanding Student of the Year Award for 1991-'92. Robert began teaching at MI in the guitar school (GIT) in 1993. He has played with Bo Diddley, Tim Bogert, Chevy Chase, Floyd Radford, Deacon Jones, Joe Houston and countless others. Luke S. has been teaching private lessons since 2007 and is currently teaching at one of the high schools in the Cy-Fair school district.
