About Leni
BA in Music, composition and conducting from Hunter College (City University of New York)
Diploma from the Conservatoire de Fontainebleau, France
Studied with Louise Talma, Jacques Louis Monod, Nadia Boulanger

Lessons are about learning to make music, not endless scales and arpeggios which so often lead to pain and injury. Tone production, sight reading, and age appropriate theory and interpretation are strong elements from the beginning.

An overwhelming percentage of young, enthusiastic and talented children are discouraged early and give up the piano because they do not make rapid progress and therefore do not enjoy their lessons. Music is one of life's great joys. It should be fun. For the intermediate, and even the advanced, student, it is critical that much more attention be paid to the musicality of the playing and the u
nderstanding of the music. This leads to more beautiful playing and greater enjoyment.

Leni is an incredible instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable and yet never comes across as condescending or arragant.
He is helpful and encouraging and makes learning to play fun.
The music that he selects is challenging without being overwhelming and he is fine with moving on to something else if you just plain don't like a piece.
He is a very popular instructor and I feel fortunate that I have found a space in his schedule !

I can honestly say that Leni is one of the most professional and intelligent music instructors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have a background in music (low brass) from the 6th grade all the way through college. While I no longer play any brass instruments, I am currently taking drum lessons, and felt that now would also be the best time to try my hand (no pun intended) at piano. I am very happy with the lessons that Leni gave, however, I eventually came to the realization that the piano would be too much of a time constraint for me. I was not 100% committed to the piano due to working an 8-5 job every day, as well as taking the drum lessons I was already taking prior to starting piano. Also, it didn't help that I did not have a piano to practice with. With that being said, if I ever find myself with the time/capability to commit myself to the piano the way I wanted to, then I will be contacting Leni for more lessons. There are many piano teachers out there, but if you want to learn the CORRECT way so that you will not hurt your hands/fingers, then Leni is the absolute best choice. Thanks for everything Leni!

About Cameron
I give lessons from my house in north Houston and I sometimes go to students homes depending on location. I teach beginner through advanced violin.
As a violin and viola teacher, my goal is to give my students fun and productive lessons. I teach my students all the essential technical and musical principles which help them to succeed at reaching their goals and avoid developing harmful habits along the way. I do not follow an exact method or course. My approach is to teach each student according to his/her particular needs which will usually require a combination of books or methods.

I have had the privilege of learning violin under some of the top violin teachers in the US. Many of my teachers were graduates of Juliard and other top music schools where they studied with some of the most famous violin teachers of the 20th century in
cluding Ivan Galamian and Josef Gingold. I have also studied with Texas String Teacher of the Year winner Henry Rubin.

Thank you for viewing my profile for guitar instruction.
I also can teach and help with composition and "score to picture"using Pro Tools software. Please see videos in the photos video section for my national and regional original music tv ads.

The band I currently record guitars for {A Bad Think} has been placed on the 2017 Grammy ballot for "Best Rock Song", and the 58th 2016 ballot by the Grammys for "Best Music Video" with the new video "Save Us All" {see below}, which was added by MTV. In 2015 the band was on the Grammy ballot for " Best Rock Album" " Sleep" by A Bad Think.

Kingwood, Texas
Voting Grammy member

I was born in New Jersey, and soon after moved to St. Louis where I began to play guitar at age 6 at the Mel Bay Studios from Mell Bay himself, and later from the person who taught him to play. Afte
r attending music school for a while, I moved to a recording studio in Houston Texas, where I was a session player and learned the art of recording and producing from major label producers and engineers. During this time I recorded on albums for Freddy Fender as well as other pop acts, and started my publishing company with BMI. After which I moved to Milwaukee where I meet John Tanner, an original music jingle writer, and worked with John on his projects as a guitar session player, singer, composer, audio engineer and producer.

In the middle 90's I meet up with another singer songwriter Noel Crowder during a jingle recording session. We discovered that our voices blended very well together, and decided to write and record music together. We soon added a drummer Steve Comeau, and started work on our first album which we released on our own under the band name "Feet Of Clay". During this time I met up with Stacy Heydon who was David Bowies former guitar player and a gold and platinum awarded producer, and started to play guitar for his production work with groups he was producing.

After a favourable review in Billboard Magazine, Feet Of Clay signed with a record label that had worldwide distribution through RED {SONY}. With the help of our newly acquired manager John Lay, whose English managerial team included The Police, Squeeze, The Greenberry Woods, Love Nut and Feet Of Clay, we soon completed a new album which was released worldwide via the Sony distribution system and received AAA radio airtime around the United States, Canada and Europe .

After our record deal, I resumed my session playing and private guitar instruction along with live performances in musical theatre. It was at this time I began composing, recording and performing original music for national and regional TV and radio ads on my own, as well as music for film including a Katherine Heigl movie "Side Effects", released on Warner Brothers, and became more involved with the Recording Academy, of which I am a voting Grammy member as well as being a guest speaker at the university level on the music business, score to picture, session playing, recording and music publishing.

I have recently moved from Wisconsin to Kingwood Texas with my wife in search of a warmer climate leaving behind our horse farm. My interests are animals, especially horses, history, science and anything pertaining to music with an emphasis on helping young artist within the Recording Academy with my Grammy voting member duties.

Guitar Instruction Technique

Check out the video that has been added to MTV that I play guitars on below.

In my guitar instructions I always use methods where the student will not become bored, as I combine songs the student likes to learn, and songs I feel would be beneficial for the student to move on to the next level, and at the same time teach the theory behind the songs. If the student shows interest in recording and or composition I will also teach those as well, as I have an extensive recording background. My styles are pop, rock, alternative, folk and a little country for the most part, and I enjoy teaching children just starting out and intermediate players but have had students performing at a higher level. I also bring a portable Pro Tools recording system with me for recording performances. But most importantly I like to keep the lessons fun and interesting and tailored for the individual student, as that's what music is all about.

"Billboard Magazine" calls the music of Milwaukee-based band Feet Of Clay, "Knowledgeable musicianship working together with skilful songwriting, breathy vocals, aching harmonies and irresistible melodies.

Secured international/national recording contract via RED/Sony with Feet of Clay.

Critically acclaimed articles/endorsements in internationally recognised music magazines including Billboard Magazine, Boarders Books as well as Music and Pro Sound News magazine.

Wisconsin Area Music Awards nominations including Best Songwriter and Guitar Instrumentalist.

Scored, preformed and recorded original music for the Katherine Heigl movie "Side Effects" released on Warner Brothers.

Voting Grammy member (Recording Academy}.

Judith is a wonderful teacher. At 16 my somewhat shy daughter decided she wanted to pursue singing. She had been in school choir but never taken lessons. Judith has brought my daughter out of her shell. She looks forward to each lesson and enjoys her time with Judith. Judith is professional and talented and understands how to relate to the younger generation and make them feel completely at ease. I feel she is such a positive influence that we plan to continue singing lessons as long as long as my daughter is happy doing it. Thanks Judith. We appreciate you!

About Edward
You may think it’s strange to talk about a story that is unrelated to music, but read on to find out why this story is important to Alex’s life as a music teacher. Alex has always been a curious guy. Having worn glasses for his entire life, Alex was interested to see what contacts were like. Usually, he would have just accepted what he was told. However, this time, he was determined to wear contacts. So, Alex attended a different eye doctor rather than his original doctor. Even then, he was told that he would not be able to wear contacts. But he was still determined to try them out. Surprisingly, the contacts worked! Little did Alex know that this would be the start of a different chapter in his life.

It was perhaps not surprising, then, that a new emphasis on education had begun to develop. Shortly afterwards, Alex accepted a new job
as a piano teacher at the Piano Studio. Using the lessons he had learned from his visit to the doctor, he started to form his philosophy on teaching. No matter what the challenges of the student, Alex will always strive to work through those challenges and do his best to successfully teach that student.

There have been a few piano beginners that have come by the Piano Studio that were assigned to Alex’s teaching roster. When they started, they were clearly some of the hardest beginners he has had to work with. One parent even remarked that her child would be impossible to teach. That parent was fortunately wrong! For months, now, this student follows Alex's instructions very clearly and has been paying attention every lesson. This is an example of how Alex's tenacity has paid off.

With a full studio of nearly twenty students per week while attending San Jacinto College, Alex stuck by with this principle of never giving up. Even when it seemed discouraging, he never gave up on any of his students as long as his students never give up on themselves. This, he believes, is what separates teachers who are passionate at their work, and teachers who just try to get by.

Currently, Alex teaches at a piano studio in Webster, TX, while attending the University of St. Thomas. Additionally, he performs weekly at a local Church as the staff organist and pianist.

Edward's a very patient teacher and accomplished pianist. I've played the piano a bit on my own, but he gave me a detailed orientation into the theoretical side and technical side of piano. He gives me a large plate of work every week, and expects me to do this work. My progress isn't immediate, but it's going smoothly and it IS progress. I would suggest Edward for both begginers berly learning and for experienced players trying to learn more. Don't be shy with him. He can be a bit qwerky, but there is a method to his madness.

Teaching Philosophy ----- Giving students to achieve their dreams
Dr. Ada teaches piano lessons, viola lessons, music theory in levels of beginner, intermediate and advanced, from age 4 and up.
I have a deep passion for teaching, especially when I see student's development with their musicality and creative ideas. As a teacher, teaching students is a reward to me. I divide my teaching strategy into different levels.
For beginners, the fundamental studies have always played an extremely significant role in their future learnings. I focus on the specific aspects, such as the hand posture, relaxation, or rhythm. From their first few lessons, I start to build their good habits on piano practice. Also, during lessons, I divide time into sections, 2/3 on pieces, 1/3 on studies (like scales or some exercises) and theory. Generally, I ask beginning students to practice as lesson length daily.
In intermediate, (the level from sonatines or above) I ask students to define their interests on specific genres and composers. But I also open and assign them to a variety of repertoires. It helps them to build the enjoyment of piano playing. For motivations, I train students for piano contests based on their willingness. Generally, I also ask intermediate to practice as lesson length daily.
For advanced students, the lessons concentrate on building their professionality and musicality. I focus not only on musical techniques but also on artistic expressions. I describe piece as a story, which creates imaginations and helps on creating their musical ideas. But I even analysis piece logically, it helps them to memorize.
Moreover, I use different learning modalities by aural, visual, or kinesthetic learners, always demonstrate in lessons.

A great teacher with patience and passion. Technically, she offers couple ways for students to practice a complicated phrase in the lessons. she lets me know how to present the music emotionally but logically. I made a great deal of progress after working with her!
