Rene H.

Conroe, TX

About Rene

Through my experience teaching I have found that music is a bridge that brings people together. With that being said I am very laid back, my whole goal is to make the learning process a fun one. When I was being taught I find that I learn more when I am enjoying myself, so this is the type of environment I strive to create for my students. I can specialize in guitar, such as rock/shred/blues/ and classical. I would say my strong points are in that of shred and classical, so all you shredders, I’m your guy! I have guitars and amps on hand if need be. I also specialize in drums such as roc
k and metal. I have roughly 16 years of experience on the kit. I can teach fundamentals like rudiments and how to apply them to the kit. If double bass is your thing, once again I’m your guy. For these types of lessons I would have to travel to you. I can also teach beginner piano, vocal, as well as some recording techniques.

*** Lesson Details ***
When it comes to the lessons I take everything in small steps. Repetition and consistency is key. Now I'm no drill Sgt, but I do love to have some sort of structure. All lessons are catered towards each students individuals skill level and needs. The MOST important thing is to have fun!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room: music stands, amp, chairs, guitar, NO piano, NO drums at this location. Macbook, interface, protools, garage band. additional seating for parents if needed.

*** Travel Equipment ***

It is hard to describe someone with a musical gift like Rene H.

Rene is an excellent teacher. Takelessons is very fortunate to have Rene's professional, knowledgeable, and musical talent. He is easy to work with. He's down to Earth and knows how to communicate with me. Also, he makes it fun and enjoyable to learn vocals. Takelessons has a great teacher on their side and deserves respect as a human-being and a mentor.

Jennifer gets on my daughter's level. If there's something she doesn't want to do she changes with ease, she's very versatile. Jennifer and my daughter get along really well and have been taking lessons for about 3 years. She is wonderful.

Leni B.

Magnolia, TX

About Leni

BA in Music, composition and conducting from Hunter College (City University of New York)
Diploma from the Conservatoire de Fontainebleau, France
Studied with Louise Talma, Jacques Louis Monod, Nadia Boulanger

Lessons are about learning to make music, not endless scales and arpeggios which so often lead to pain and injury. Tone production, sight reading, and age appropriate theory and interpretation are strong elements from the beginning.

An overwhelming percentage of young, enthusiastic and talented children are discouraged early and give up the piano because they do not make rapid p
rogress and therefore do not enjoy their lessons. Music is one of life's great joys. It should be fun. For the intermediate, and even the advanced, student, it is critical that much more attention be paid to the musicality of the playing and the understanding of the music. This leads to more beautiful playing and greater enjoyment.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are designed for the needs of the individual student.

*** Studio Equipment ***

*** Specialties ***
Concentration on interpretation, Theory, Solfege and ear training, and non injurious piano technique.

Mr. Leni B. is second to none. He holds a BA degree in music, piano, composition and conducting from Hunter College, the largest college in The City University of New York and obtains a Diploma from the Conservatoire de Fontainebleau, France, I have no doubt about his talents and expertise. His knowledge is tremendously fabulous. What a true musician he is! As an adult, I wonder if Mr. Leni B. would be patient with me. The answer is yes. He patiently teaches me, and corrects my hands using the Taubman Approach to avoid chronical hand, wrist and muscle injuries. I am incredibly grateful to have him for my piano teacher. His passion and dedication are beyond excellent and have been transferred to me. I have brought home with a lot of inspiration after each lesson. I love his analysis and interpretation of each beautiful piece of music. The atmosphere he creates is lovely, friendly, welcoming and open. It is fun to study under his supervision. His encouragement is another key for me to practice the piano everyday. I am absolutely proud of him. It is even multipled when I have figured out he has more talents than just music and piano which are already amazing. Mr. Leni B. is the best teacher because he teaches from the heart not from the book. He is too good to be true.

I highly recommend Mr. Leni B. to anyone who wants to take piano lessons for fun or seriously.

An Amazing Teacher and Musician

I have had Leni as a teacher, and a friend, for several years. I am amazed at how far I have come, and I feel that the technique and the theory behind the methods he teaches are incredible and imperative to the progress I have made, both on the piano and in other areas of music. The atmosphere that he creates is a welcoming and stimulating learning environment. The Taubman technique that he teaches is understandable, helpful, and it is the most successful way to avoid long-term injury to the hands and wrists. I am incredibly grateful to him for his dedication and passion for his work and his students.

Randy W.

Magnolia, TX

About Randy

I am a working musician. I have been playing music for 17 years. I have a great knowledge of both drums and guitar and am building a knowledge in many other areas. I am currently enrolled at Full Sail University in the Music Production Bachelor's of Science. I have completed Music Theory 1 course and will be taking theory 2 very shortly. I have given lessons to musicians who are now professional musicians. I love passing on the knowledge that I learn. I strongly believe that a musicians number one duty is to give back what was given to them and groom the future. This is my motto.

I'm a 22 year old guy who had no experience in the drum world. I found Randy through a mutual friend and asked if he could teach me. I knew he has played drums for close to 20 years and I thought he would be a great option. That was literally the best decision I've ever made. He made things so easy for me to learn. I'm now playing every week at different churches all over houston and even being booked for studio gigs. The way he teaches is so easy to understand. If you have trouble with it, not to worry, he can make it even easier for you until you do understand. He is a genius when it comes to drums. One of the best in my personal opinion and I'm sure others as well. I highly recommend him to anyone who has no idea what they're doing around the kit and even people that think they have it all figured out. Randy is for sure the way to go!
