I only have had the introductory lesson. So far I think it’s going to be great. I like that she structures the lessons and homework and I’m sure I will improve a lot.

About Grace
Hi there! My name's Grace and I'm a voice teacher and a classically trained performer. I recently moved back to the DC area and am delighted to begin a voice studio! If you or your child loves to sing and would like to take your singing to the next level, feel confident as a soloist, or prepare for an audition, give yourself or your child a classical basis for how to healthfully sing. Now is the time! I have a varied background: I started out in musical theatre and choirs and now sing with orchestras, opera companies, and churches. I began teaching privately in college, then taught private lessons, before proceeding to the Westminster Choir College, where I just received a Master of Music in Voice and Voice Teaching (formally Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.) Hope to meet you soon!

*Note* I'm only able to travel to give in-home lessons
when the lesson duration is 45 mins or more.

About Megan
I am an experienced and well-rounded musician of nearly 22 years. I have studied the piano, cello, and clarinet throughout my life and am currently a freelance performer in Colorado Springs. I have taught professionally since 2009.

I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music, Clarinet Performance in 2013. I received a GPA of 3.3 and studied and performed both clarinet and cello. In 2015, I graduated from California State University of Sacramento with a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music with a 4.0 GPA. I mainly performed clarinet at the university, many local ensembles, chamber music, and I even had the opportunity to perform abroad in the United Kingdom in 2016.

I taught elementary band with the San Juan Unified School district from 2013-2015. While I was pursuing
my teaching credential, I student-taught in Davis Joint Unified School District from 2014-2015. Then, I was employed with Twin Rivers Unified School District from 2015-2017, where I had the privilege to teach elementary general music and choir to students learning English as a second language, students of special needs, and in addition, students from very low income homes. Most recently, I taught elementary general music, choir, and band with the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District from 2017-2018.

I recently moved to Colorado Springs because my husband is a newly commissioned officer with the United States Air Force Academy Band, stationed at Peterson Air Force Base here in Colorado Springs. We have loved our experience so far in Colorado and love to explore the outdoor activities and sight-seeing in our free time.

About Patricia
I have been playing the piano for over forty years for churches and schools. I am passionate about helping beginner and intermediate students grow cognitively and socially through music. As a retired elementary school teacher, my strengths are assessing where a student is and creating a plan that suits each student to get where they would like to go. I see learning music as more than playing a song the correct way. Besides creating confidence and enjoyment, studying music greatly increases brain development and memory skills that stay with the child for life, and it forms the foundation of learning: seeing the structure that is in all of life, such as the structure in math, reading, and science. All children benefit from learning music, and those who pursue it will flourish cognitively, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. I would love
the opportunity to help you learn the joy of music!

I am an encourager. i teach and I watch for what the student does right. That is first and foremost. I teach according to the student's learning style. My idea is that we should schedule a time together to see if we are compatible and if you like my style of teaching. There is no charge for the first visit.
Ability to read is very important because reading out loud is an important part of my teaching and students learning.
I love to teach piano!!! I include some laughter as well.
I have worked most of my married life so teaching piano has not been doable. Since I retired, I have taught children, teens and adults. I have the most fun!!! !

I hold a master on jazz performance from the Prins Claus Conservatorium (Netherlands), and I've studied classical music for over 15 years with some of the best pedagogues in the world (Edna Golandsky, Sophia Rosoff, John Bloomfield, Paul Komen). The thesis of my Masters was based on healthy piano playing, and how to play and teach it to avoid fatigue, pain and injuries. This is a serious issue that most unexperienced piano teachers have no idea about, and many experienced either. I'm easy going, and enjoy my time with children. They usually have a lot of fun at the lessons, and we can always learn to improvise, to compose, and to play classical repertoire, jazz, children songs or pop music.

As a pianist I've worked for Cunard Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Holland America Line.
