I love to sew and greatly enjoy teaching the craft. I have been sewing since I was 7 years old, when I was taught by my Grandmother. A FIDM Fashion Design graduate, I worked in the garment industry as a pattern maker and junior dress designer. I then went on to work for 14 years in the Motion Picture industry in costume design and stylist work.

I enjoy working with children, guiding them to use their creativity in the process of sewing. Lessons can be tailored to the students needs, from learning how to use the sewing machine to the best way to approach sewing different fabrics and patterns. From fashion to interior design, I am happy to guide you to a finished product.

About Renee

I love to sew! and have great joy in teaching the craft. I have been sewing since I was 7 years old, taught by my Grandmother.  A FIDM alumni, I worked in the garment industry designing jr. dresses and as a pattern maker, as well as a costume stylist for 14 years in film‚ television, and commercial

I learned to play chess from my dad when I was seven. Ever since, I have been playing in national and international chess tournaments. I was a four-time state high school chess champion. I'm an experienced tournament chess player (14 Years) and chess teacher (10 years). I have a masters degree in education from Harvard University. In addition, I have trained as a long distance runner. I was on my high school and college track and cross country team. I continue to run today and train for half-marathons and marathons.

I have taught chess with the US Chess Center in Washington, DC. I have created several after school and in school chess programs in DC, Ohio and Boston. I was a program officer for a small nonprofit that taught chess in hospitals, libraries and schools throughout the Massachusetts area. Aaron has been teaching my 9 year old son chess lessons. After several months with a weekly lesson, my wife and I are very pleased with his progress. At first we had our doubts about whether online classes would work. The truth is that we are very satisfied because the use of technology added interest for my son in learning. Aaron is very patient and makes the lessons enjoyable, with some humor. He has a teaching method that combines strategy and theory with a love for the game. That is the magic of learning and is the key to advance one's knowledge of any discipline. Now we play more and more competitive matches and his progress is very noticeable. We also appreciate Aaron's feedback about how each lesson went and tips to work on during the week to reinforce what was learned.

"I enjoyed taking lessons with Mr.Siddharth. He was a really cool instructor I could talk to and easily forget about time. It's always good to be so engaged with what you are learning that you put all your focus into the subject, and he easily allowed that. I even went over time in my first lesson, we were both so engaged!

I highly recommend Mr.Siddharth as an instructor. I am a relatively advanced player, but I can see how his wisdom can transfer over to beginners and intermediates. I will consider even more lessons in the future. One small caveat was his small bouts of absent-mindedness (moving the wrong piece, forgetting what as the last move), but that never caused so much confusion I didn't know what was going on.

Overall, he doesn't disappoint. Book a lesson with him, and you'll learn something."
